Anyone else planning going through embryo transfer in January? Would love to hear from others on this journey.

We last did an embryo transfer in July 2022, which was unsuccessful and had a previous two transfers, one unsuccessful and one resulting in miscarriage. As those were our only embryos I've been through 2 ECs this year and now have 8 euploid embryos! It's been a long journey and I'm very hopeful for this next transfer 🤞

@botsytots thank you lovely. Yeah it will be the EMMA ALICE :)
My cycle started today so straight on to the estrogen!

botsytots · 23/12/2023 21:37

@Lyrabee that's exciting! Keep us posted on how everything goes ☺️

Hey all. How's everyone getting on? Are most of us now waiting for our cycles to start to begin the process?

As we've missed 2 cycles due to them not being in line with clinic closure over Xmas my clinic has given me something to bring on my cycle earlier. So fingers crossed it starts around 10/11th Jan.

@Lyrabee how are you finding the oestrogen? Have you been prescribed progynova? We too are transferring 2 embryos.

HopefulHead · 31/12/2023 14:45

Heya :)
We should be taking the prostap injection on the 3rd then just waiting for AF to get started 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Lyrabee · 31/12/2023 14:46

@Lebe14 the clinic closures are very frustrating, glad they could bring you forward, how many transfers have you had before?

The estrogen has been absolutely fine, I don't notice any side effects from it. I'm on the patches. I've got my lining scan on Tuesday- expecting to be told its not thick enough yet so will probably have to book another scan - last time i had to take tablets as well as use the patches after my first scan.

Lebe14 · 31/12/2023 15:24

@HopefulHead how exciting! What is the prostap injection? To bring on your period?

@Lyrabee the Xmas closures are so frustrating. My cycle started too late in November and then too early in December! This will be our first transfer. Glad to hear the oestrogen has been okay so far and fingers crossed for your scan on Tuesday.

Lyrabee · 31/12/2023 15:26

@Lebe14 oooh nice, fingers crossed for you! My clinic wouldn't let me do double transfers previously, they're only allowing it now as its our last 2

Lebe14 · 31/12/2023 15:31

@Lyrabee I was a little shocked when my consultant recommended it and had to think long and hard about whether to do it or not. She doesn't think they have much of a chance with their grading and being day 6, so she suggested we transfer both to allow us to move onto another cycle. There is a slim chance of them working but we're prepared if by magic they both stick x

Hopingforno2in2024 · 31/12/2023 16:44

Hi all :)

I am just waiting for 10th Jan when I get rolling with my FET.

localbunny · 31/12/2023 17:35

My cycle started 25/12 (classic) so I'm booked in for first scan on Friday. Second FET, natural modified so just a trigger shot and progesterone. Anyone else around my timings?

HopefulHead · 04/01/2024 09:48

@Lebe14 I think prostapp is basically a ‘down reg’ for a fet, it stops natural hormones and ovary functions then they give me arterial drugs to build up my lining, it’s the first time I’ve done a controlled one so not really sure what’s going on, just doing what they tell me and hoping for the best 😂

Prostap done yesterday, a bit sore in my tummy but other than that feel fine 🤞🏼 period should
come in 7-10 days then I call the clinic to book in my first scan 🤞🏼

Caubabatko · 04/01/2024 11:49

Hi everyone, my AF arrived on 1st January to kick off my second euploid (medicated) FET after the implantation failure from the November transfer. It will be my last transfer before I turn 44. Day 4 on Estrofem 6mg and baby aspirin (100mg) now, then Clexane 0.2ml later in the cycle.

Has anyone ever had thrombophilia tests through NHS? I'm a little disappointed with GP for turning down my requests for Protein S/Protein C/Antithrombin deficiencies tests following repeated episodes of subtle leg cramps (but no swelling or heat) because they are "only recommended in people who have already had a confirmed blood clot or have a very strong family history of them".

Lebe14 · 04/01/2024 13:23

@HopefulHead and @Hopingforno2in2024 sounds like we might have similar timings!

@HopefulHead I'm the same - just do as I'm told since it's my first cycle and all new to me 😂

@localbunny hope your scan goes well tomorrow!

@Caubabatko how are you feeling on the meds? Sorry I have no experience of thrombophilia

X

Caubabatko · 04/01/2024 13:50

@Lebe14 I'm not sure if I've been affected by the oestradiol as yet. My mood is pretty normal. Although, I've noticed I'm getting a little constipated, not sure it's the hormone - I'm going to up my magnesium intake in case it helps!

@localbunny I'm exactly 1 week behind you, period started this Monday, first scan on 15th, provisionally booked in for transfer on 22nd as mine is medicated.
Hope your scan goes well tomorrow:) Beetroot is supposed to help with uterine lining.

localbunny · 04/01/2024 15:46

@Caubabatko thanks! My biggest concern is that I won't have any follicles growing yet tbh. My cycles are irregular anyway, and they've been worse since I had Covid in the autumn and had to cancel a cycle. Fingers crossed! I'll update tomorrow...

Hope your meds are all going okay?

Oh, tell me about it! Do you have a high AMH and tend to have longer cycles? Mine is 33-37 days and AMH is around 16 pmol/l. I have a longer follicular phase. When I had a natural modified FET in November (which failed), my first scan happened late, on D16, but my follicles were too small (10-11mm). I repeated the scan on D19 then again on D21, when the dominant follicle barely got to 15mm - but lining was nice and thick, transferred on D28.
Are you keeping track of your basal body temperature?

Lyrabee · 04/01/2024 17:32

@Caubabatko I had the tests done for thrombophilia at my clinic because I knew my GP was unlikely to pay for them.
I've had other tests done with GP though for thalassemia because my husband has it.

Sounds like everyone is moving along!

We had our lining scan and it was all good so transferring the 2 on Tuesday. Started lubion today.
I've also been constipated on the estrogen but that happened last time for me so I expected it.

Wishing lots of luck for us all x

localbunny · 04/01/2024 18:25

@Caubabatko yes exactly that! My amh is 61.2 pmol/L (mental I know) and my follicular phase is always long/variable so sounds similar. First natural FET went fine with a trigger on CD14, but got covid at the start of my last FET cycle and everything went haywire. I don't do temperature but I use Mira to track hormone levels which I love (and fully recommend!). Sorry to hear about your last FET, I had the same outcome :( wishing you all the best for this coming one

Thanks @Lebe14 ! Hope your cycle starts soon and you can get those two frosties tucked in!

localbunny · 05/01/2024 13:56

Update: scan 1 of my natural modified fet done! Day 11, nothing to report yet, no dominant follicles and lining still thin. Heading back next Thursday so just got some follicles to grow before then :)

Ellenn · 05/01/2024 20:04

Hey everyone 👋 ok if I join? I have FET booked (hopefully 🤞) for 26th this month providing my lining performs well. Looking to hear everyone’s updates to try distract me 🤣 literally counting down the days!!

anyone transferring around the same time?

Ccp7 · 06/01/2024 07:32

Hi @Ellenn I am due for a FET around the same date. My cycle is due in 5 days so can start scans soon. Hopefully all goes well for you x

Ellenn · 06/01/2024 08:28

@Ccp7 amazing! Great to have someone else on similar timescale. How are you feeling about it?

Ccp7 · 06/01/2024 09:11

I had my first one in November and that one failed. My doctor said everything looked great so luck just wasn’t on my side. So this one I’m feeling more prepared but nervous still as the feeling of disappointment is a lot! How are you feeling? Is this your first FET? X

Ellenn · 06/01/2024 09:32

@Ccp7 I hope this embryo sticks for you!! The whole thing is a nightmare isn’t it, there really isn’t a good outcome unless you get a baby. Are you doing a natural or medicated cycle? This will be my 4th transfer, I am excited about it but bit scared going to end in miscarriage so trying to prepare myself etc

botsytots · 06/01/2024 16:30

Hey everyone, just catching up on everyone's messages and sounds like things are moving along for a lot of you!

@localbunny good luck for your scan next week 😊 I'm also doing a natural modified cycle this time round so keen to hear how you get on.

@Ellenn welcome! I am due to transfer 2nd Feb so not long after you and I'm doing a modified natural FET after 3 previous medicated FETs. I'm also counting down to the days and just want my cycle to start now! Will you be doing natural or medicated this time round? There's quite a few people in this group transferring late Jan / early Feb so similar timings to you ☺️
