Secondary Infertility

I appreciate this is an infertility forum and feel incredibly lucky to have my DD. I'm currently struggling with secondary infertility and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same? I'm feeling a little lost at the moment 😔.

I’m resurfacing as we’re finally going to get the ball rolling. We switched clinics since I last posted (4 months ago!) and are going for ovulation stimulation with IUI in April. First consultation was only Weds but we were so geared up and prepared that we agreed on the spot 😅.

@Cloclo93 that's just shit, so sorry and hope you're being kind to yourself.

13 Days since my IUI and I'm waiting until Wednesday to take a test. Usually I spot for 2/3 days and get my period by day 26/27 and so far no spotting and day 28 today. Trying to balance staying positive but also not getting my hopes up!!

We’ve been dithering since Oct/Nov, not really wanting to go full force into IVF but not knowing what to do (or could be done) otherwise, as it’s unexplained, so I’m happy we have something to do now!

@Darma87 oh my goodness the strength it takes to resist testing! Wishing you all the best for tomorrow! Please let us know.

Hey fetmum, I had my consultation yesterday doctor said to have zero fertilization was rare happens in only 1 in 500 cycles! Hopefully it was just bad luck and won't happen again, he advised icis if we were to go for another cycle, we definitely will do another cycle once we paid off the failed cycle! Definitely before the summer is out because I'm a bit worried about my low AMH, getting only 4 mature eggs at the age of 31 is quite low for my age ;(
What stage are you at now?

Hi @FETmum! I’m doing ok thank you, time just seems to be going so slowly!! I’m excited but anxious about next month.. I’m pleased that we can ttc again but i’m dreading the inevitable disappointment that comes with it.

How are you getting on? Are you still planning to have your frozen transfer on Thursday?

@Cloclo93 oh yes definitely go again! I would aswell. I had a cycle last year only got one embryo they couldn't even grade it a day 5 (obvs didn't work). That was devastating so I know what you're going through. Never alone. I'm 39 so the clock is clicking.

@RedRedRobin1 ooo exciting!! Bet you can't wait! Yes we are all set for Thursday morning FET, got everything crossed! Clinic call me in the morning to advise which one will be transferred. Tell me about the time going so slow, argh!

I have been watching this thread for a while hope it’s ok to join. I have a 3 (almost 4) year old who was conceived first cycle and have been trying for nearly 2.5 years for number 2 with one mmc along the way for chromosomal abnormalities. It’s been over a year since the mmc with no hint of a bfp. Like anyone else on this thread I appreciate how lucky I am but it does feel so frustrating and unfair sometimes. I am going though ivf at the moment and waiting on pgta results. Found out a friend of mine is pregnant with her 3rd this week , she had her 2nd a year ago . I just want a sibling for my DC so much. I’m 37 so not feeling particularly optimistic.

Hi & welcome @Helengreggregson. I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles and your mmc. I also have a few friends who are expecting their third child, watching friends sail through numerous pregnancies is really tough. Good luck with your IVF. How long will the pgta results take to come back?

Still no sign of my period but my test was negative yesterday 😔 They've asked me to stay on the cyclogest until Fri and do another test and then stop taking the meds. Trying to see the positives, that the cyclogest lengthened my cycle so hopefully this could work if we did it again. We have the Dr follow up for next steps in mid April as there's a bit of a waitlist so likely means we'll miss April, then we're on holiday in may so looking like June. Debating if going to IVF at that point would be better, I just don't want to keep being in this trying phase forever!

@RedRedRobin1 thank you. i have to wait until the end of this month for the results (I don’t like in the uk) . It’s such a long wait.

The embryo has been in now for over 24hrs! Definitely testing next week, I can't wait until 20th March the official test date.

Morning all, hope you had a lovely day yesterday! It's been 4 long days now since the transfer & I stupidly have been testing ever since! All negative of course far too early! Feel like it might not have worked, how depressing! Zero symptoms. Went to a party on Saturday to be told another relative is pregnant, all talking nurseries & baby showers. Fml. xx

Definitely too early too test @FETmum ! If it's going to be a negative or positive it's outa your hands now!

I hope it's ok to join as a latecomer. We have just hit 2 years of TTC #2 and I feel like it's a really tough milestone to reach so hoping to find positivity and community for the journey.

@Helengreggregson I could have written an exact replica of your post. My first will be 4 in July and was conceived first time with no issue. So hard to see him without a sibling, although I'm obviously incredibly grateful to have him in the first place. It's not an easy place to be in 💕💐

Only three more weeks until I can ttc again although typically af will be due then 🙄! I’ve started making plans for the Easter holidays to pass the time. Lots of nice days out to look forward to 😊 x

@Hollielouise i know it’s difficult and I feel like every time I go to a playground or play centre absolutely every other child around his age seems to either have a sibling or a pregnant mum hanging around. Have you had any tests done or anything ?

Hello everyone, 6 days post the transfer & delighted to report it's a BFP!! Have not seen a BFP since a FET in 2022 which ended in MMC. We know we still have a hell of a long journey to go! It's a rollercoaster.

Welcome to the newbies, I would definitely recommend visiting the GP to get some further testing, I've had every test under the sun. They might even suggest clomid or letrozole.
