I appreciate this is an infertility forum and feel incredibly lucky to have my DD. I'm currently struggling with secondary infertility and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same? I'm feeling a little lost at the moment 😔.

@Justkeepswimming1234 I am so sorry , i feel your heartache and it is such a lonely and sad journey to be in. I don't have answers but did you test your embryos ? We have run out of embryos , tested them but didnt work so now back to trying naturally. On Maca for hormonal balance , was put into medical menopause as have Adeno so not ovulating yet. CQ10 600 mg per day for quality of eggs.

Justkeepswimming1234 · 08/10/2023 10:56

@GreenTurtle75 thank you. I don't think our clinic do DNA testing on sperm. I might ask about the hycosy to rule that out too.

@praying4babba thanks, we didn't have any embryos at all so nothing to test even if we wanted to! I've also been taking coq10 and dhea for several months before this last round of IVF, but it made no difference for me unfortunately. I can't quite get my head around how easy it was with first pregnancy and how impossible it is this time, despite trying what feels like everything. Surely eggs don't deteriorate that quickly over less than 2 years?! Or maybe they do.

Off to meet new baby niece today - time to put on the brave face!

Clocloxx · 13/10/2023 11:28

@FETmum how was the results from your amh test ? I got mine last week too I'm considered very low at only 3 the fertility consultant advised us to go for IVF asap. But I will have a hsg first then try iui, IVF I never thought I'd have to go that route especially after conceiving so easily with my dd who is nearly 5 soon!

FETmum · 14/10/2023 09:17

@Clocloxx my AMH was 25.5 considered satisfactory but makes no difference as still no luck with baby number 2. Our DD was ivf so now in talks to have another round of ivf. Previously had tubes checked followed by 6 months of Letrozole, confirmed I did ovulate but no success. I'm 39 so time is running out 😭. Would love a sibling for DD.

praying4babba · 14/10/2023 11:34

Hi everyone

I am still
waiting to ovulate, had bloods and my fsh levels were considered good but have no oestrogen from the medical menopause. Waiting for my Amh level count. Have stopped using ovulation sticks as it costing a fortune. Unless I use them once a day? What do you think? She said it takes some women longer to come out of menopause . @Justkeepswimming1234 I am so sorry it is so consuming. I met a lady yesterday who fell pregnant at 45 and it took them 3 years of trying , gave me hope ! If I would just ovulate aghhhh

Cloclo93 · 14/10/2023 12:31

@FETmum I think if you can afford ivf go for it! You might look back in years to come and regret not trying, your AMH is really good, what about your follicle count? I'm surprised mine was so I was told I'd start menopause in middle 30s! Yet all the women in my family had babies up into there 40s

GreenTurtle75 · 14/10/2023 23:32

I use ovulation sticks once a day until LH rises, then I’ll do two a day to catch the peak, then one a day for 1–2 days after just to check it’s gone back down.

greeneyes85 · 15/10/2023 08:51

We've finally got the ball rolling. I had blood tests last week and have an initial scan tomorrow so really hoping things can start moving. I know we're all so lucky to have our I've DD or DS but I'm really struggling at the moment 😔.

@greeneyes85 good luck!

This thread resonated with me too, so I thought I'd check in and look for support too.

We have a nearly 3yo already but have been trying for a year now for a second. I've had two ectopics (and one ruptured removed fallopian tube), plus PCOS and a short luteal phase just to add to it.

I started metformin and vitamin B6 this month, but really I probably only want to try for another 2-3 months before starting the ball rolling with investigations and IVF.

I love my little one so much and I know that they are entirely enough on my own, and if we can never have a second then I hope I'll eventually make peace with that. I'm already a mum and it's amazing. But that need for another baby is just relentless...

Hoping you all get some positive news in the coming weeks/months x

FETmum · 17/10/2023 21:49

@Cloclo93 I have no idea on the follicle count, but I do have pcos. It's like trying to find a pound within a bunch of pennies is how a consultant described pcos, he's right. How's your journey going? We filled in all the consent forms for ivf so here we go (again!)

Cloclo93 · 26/10/2023 14:46

I'm 16 dpo 2 days late for my peroid which runs like clock work, I'm too chicken too take a test incase of the disappointment 😞 after 2 years of trying even this imaginary hope is nice I don't want to crush it, anyone else get like that?

FETmum · 26/10/2023 17:58

@Cloclo93 did you end up testing?! My AF has just finished so here we go again! Good luck to you

Cloclo93 · 26/10/2023 18:11

@FETmum no I havnt everytime I go out to buy a test I come home and AF arrives .. sods law.
I'm savoring this lateness right now but I'll definitely buy one in the morning if AF don't arrive during the night :) 🤞

Cloclo93 · 27/10/2023 10:57

Still no sign of AF but BFN on a boots strip test this morning;(

FETmum · 28/10/2023 10:38

@Cloclo93 oh that sucks!! Did you test for ovulation this month? Hoping you get your BFP! X

Cloclo93 · 28/10/2023 13:52

@FETmum no I don't really test for ovulation anymore I just dtd every other day, when I used to track it it was always the same few days had follicle tracking done for a few months, another BFN this morning :(

ivfthis · 28/10/2023 15:55

@Cloclo93 I read your posts and I felt exactly the same pain and hopelessness after a glimmer of hope with late periods. The trying naturally part of infertility was absolutely hell for us. We tried for three and half years and not one BFP despite conceiving our first child very easily. I hope you don’t mind me saying, IVF was daunting but I don’t regret it for a second. We had two cycles. Even the miscarriage from the first at least felt like at least something happened as traumatising as it was.

I wish in retrospect I’d done IVF sooner, I did absolutely everything I could to avoid it because I thought it was too invasive and unnatural. But actually it worked, and when my baby was in my arms that’s all that mattered. I’m only saying this because infertility was the darkest time of my life and I wish someone had told me to give IVF a chance. It might not work but it felt like I was doing the most I could to give is a chance. Sending hugs through this awful time.

Cloclo93 · 28/10/2023 19:20

Hi @ivfthis thanks so much for your message! Congratulations on your little bundle of joy 😊 me and my partner have spoken about ivf we will start it in February/March I've already been advised to start it asap over my egg reserve, and mentally i dont want to be trying for another year month after month of disappointment, it would just be a miracle to fall pregnant naturally

Cloclo93 · 09/12/2023 13:39

How is everyone getting on? Xx

FETmum · 10/12/2023 09:36

@Cloclo93 we are not quite pregnant yet, had our egg retrieval last Wednesday who took 28 eggs out of me (I was so bloated!) 24 matured, and 23 fertilised. Day 5 tomorrow so we'll know if more developments. We have the option to send 8 off for genetic testing if we're lucky to have 8 embryos come tomorrow! What's happening with you? And my best friend just announced she's having baby number 2.

Cloclo93 · 10/12/2023 12:42

@FETmum wow!! 23 fertilized! That is brilliant, what age are you? You must have great quality eggs, please keep us updated on how many make it to Day 5 :) we will start ivf in January I have my 1st assesment scan with clinic next week, hopefully yours will be the next baby announcement 🤞🤞🤞

FETmum · 10/12/2023 12:48

@Cloclo93 we are very pleased! Highly recommend using "inofolic alpha" to give those eggs a boost also helps with pcos. I was on a high dose of drugs aswell though. Fantastic news on your January journey about to begin. Here's to our BFP in 2024! X

Clocloxx · 18/12/2023 14:08

Hi @FETmum how are you getting on? Any updates?

FETmum · 19/12/2023 11:30

@Clocloxx latest update is that we had ten embryos who made it to day 5! 8 have been sent off for genetic testing and two were not tested due to cost, but all now frozen. So now it's just a waiting game to see if they come back as normal. I am guessing transfer will be in Feb the way my cycle works. Next consultation is 10th Jan.

What's the latest with you? Xx

FETmum · 08/01/2024 10:17

HNY! How's it all going?
