Hi just wanted to ask if anyone is in similar position and tested positive recently.
I'm 5 weeks tomorrow via our 3rd IVF icsi cycle and can't believe it's happening..
I'm pinching myself every day since BFP!
We did try 7 years and i never thought i ever be able to say "I'm pregnant "

My symptoms now are feeling a bit sick and just trying to take things easy.
This wait for first scan seems like it's ages away!

@Jemima1987 congratulations!!! Sounds like you've both had a difficult journey... I'm so pleased for you and the positive result!

Jemima1987 · 04/05/2023 20:54

Thank you! Such a supportive community!
@Jupiteer I hope your OHSS settles soon! I had it after egg collection and it was awful. I can’t imagine what that must be like with pregnancy symptoms too!

AlisonDanuta · 04/05/2023 22:13

We've had a positive news on our scan today! Measuring 15 mm and a strong heartbeat ❤️! 8 weeks tomorrow
Just unreal to see it's actually happening!
We've now been discharged from our ivf clinic and need to let my gp know.
We're on cloud 9!

Continuing progesterone till week 10 (they have said I can stop now but been hesitant so got another 2 weeks)
Has anyone been advised differently?

Congratulations @Jupiteer ! Lovely to have that confirmation!

Great to hear @Jemima1987 that you've come to far! Take every stage individually and enjoy this success!

**Someone was asking about scan - mine was internally on empty bladder at 7+6

Loulou2202 · 04/05/2023 22:52

Congratulations on everyone with their positive scans!

im 5weeks 3 days and still no symptoms to speak of, scan isn’t until in 7 weeks so feels like ages away and I thought the TWW was bad 😂but you are all giving me lots of hope with your lovely scan stories x

nizo1245 · 05/05/2023 11:24

Congrats on your scans @Jupiteer and @AlisonDanuta

Just back from mine and everything is looking perfect. Measuring 7 weeks and seen the little heartbeat fluttering away.

We did have a terrifying moment when the sac looked empty but apparently my bladder wasn't empty enough 🤦‍♀️
Was sent for a pee and everything was visible afterwards.

Jupiteer · 05/05/2023 14:58

Hooray! Great to see such positive news on this thread!
Here's to our little December babies 🎉🎉🎉

@AlisonDanuta I stopped the progesterone a couple of days after the positive blood test at 4 weeks, at the clinics advice. I was a fresh transfer though and I think it's different for frozen.

Vil · 05/05/2023 15:05

@AlisonDanuta @nizo1245 huge congratulations to you 🥳🥳🥳

And welcome everyone new to the group 💓💓

We just had our scan at a very early 6 weeks 3 days and we saw everything we’d hoped for including ONE (had 2 embryos transferred) heartbeat, we also heard it fluttering away. Feels so real now so overwhelmed and happy 😃 ❤️

xxxxxxx

AlisonDanuta · 05/05/2023 15:07

Omg @nizo1245 i think i would of sh#£%t myself if that was the case! I bet that was the longest wee you've had worrying like mad! So glad it's a positive result!

@Jupiteer ahh I'm also fresh transfer but they were saying that I can stop but if something happens I may blame myself so decided to carry on another 2 weeks.

Omg December will be here soon! I can't believe it will happen allin the same year lol

AlisonDanuta · 05/05/2023 15:24

Awww @Vil congratulations! Nothing will beat that first scan confirmation!
Sorry about your second embryo.

I'm super happy we will have a baby before 40! Lol

Vil · 06/05/2023 13:13

Thank you @AlisonDanuta we’re a bit relieved it’s 1 in there to be honest !!

Hope everyone is holding up ok today?

I’ve found the scan has hugely reduced my anxiety at least temporarily.

x

browneyedgirl626 · 07/05/2023 17:13

Ahh congratulations @Vil @AlisonDanuta @nizo1245 brilliant news with your scans!

My anxiety subsided a bit after the 7 week scan but it's been creeping back in which is annoying. I keep finding myself asking chat gpt (as if AI is the oracle) endless questions about live birth statistics and research on euploid embryos 🙄

When will you ladies have your next scan? Have any of you registered your pregnancy with the GP/pregnancy unit in your local hospital?

And how are you holding up with the wait @Loulou2202 ?

Vil · 07/05/2023 17:42

Hi @browneyedgirl626

I have another scan with the ivf clinic in 2 weeks

I’m already booked in for the initial appointment with the nhs next week and the 12 week scan in June ! I live in London almost next to kings college hospital and so far they’ve been v efficient.

Sorry to hear the anxiety is back up ! I’d love to take my own advice but trust the process xxxx

browneyedgirl626 · 07/05/2023 18:02

@Vil that's good the nhs has been pn the ball with appointments. I'm moving so will probably get set up with a GP in two weeks time and take it from there. I find it hard to trust the process to be honest, when you've had multiple losses it doesn't really work like that in your head. I'm more into statistics and percentages, I think the odds are good if you have seen normal growth and a heartbeat so I'm just going with that x

Vil · 07/05/2023 18:10

@browneyedgirl626 thats completely fair and I’m in the same boat really but whatever works ! And like you said your stats are good so far ☺️

LottSE20 · 07/05/2023 19:30

Hi ladies, can I join? I’m exactly 5w after an FET. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage but I’m lucky enough to have a DS (also FET after 4 rounds of IVF!)
I thought I’d feel less anxious second time round but the miscarriage has really shaken me and now I can’t shift the fear. My clinic don’t do bloods so I’ve been obsessively testing to reassure myself (spending a fortune on those CB digital to see if the weeks change). I keep look at miscarriage stats and counting down the % reducing. Scan on the 18th 🫣

Loulou2202 · 07/05/2023 22:09

@browneyedgirl626 thank you for asking :) , Im still very anxious and counting down the days. If I had some symptoms I think I would feel a little better but I don’t have that reassurance either.

Just over a week to go. I haven’t registered with my GP yet and won’t until I have that scan.

I wish I had some advice for you, I think you can take some real reassurance from your scan at this stage. I know it’s difficult managing the anxiety after loss xx

browneyedgirl626 · 08/05/2023 20:02

@Loulou2202 sorry to hear you're feeling anxious too, it's so tough isn't it. How many weeks/days are you now? I didn't really get any symptoms until 7 weeks and they come and go. I'm🤞🏻 for you. Do you get any free counselling with your clinic? Mine are very cbt but it helps to talk it through all the same.

Welcome @LottSE20 I really relate to the anxiety because of previous miscarriage. How many weeks will you be on 18th for your scan?

LottSE20 · 08/05/2023 20:42

I’ll be 6w4d. Feels like a lifetime away! But I remember this feeling from my first and while I was elated after the 6week scan it only lasted a week until the worry crept back in again. Someone referred to it as scanxiety which I thought was a good term! Window to the womb certainly got good business out of me. I don’t think you truly believe it until they are in your arms, but when the movements start that helps a lot. IVF (and miscarriage) so cruel in that it robs you of a normal happy pregnancy. I’m just trying to treat it as one step at a time

browneyedgirl626 · 09/05/2023 19:13

@LottSE20 I just think that I'd rather be in this than not, so I'll take the uncertainty any day because it exists alongside the hope that it will all work out x

LottSE20 · 09/05/2023 20:13

@browneyedgirl626 of course! Hope is the thing that keeps us all going xx

AlisonDanuta · 09/05/2023 22:31

I've now registered directly with a midwife for a first appointment next week where I will be almost 10 weeks. Apparently lots of questions, bloods and setting up a date for the next scan, but this time with nhs and no longer with my clinic.

Feels so strange, as we still feel like "pinch me" is this really happening?

Some days I feel very sickly and some i forget I'm actually pregnant (my body forgets as my mind always is aware lol)

OP posts:
Jupiteer · 11/05/2023 19:39

I also have my first midwife appt at 10 weeks. It feels mad... Like I still don't want to believe it's really happening as still have the fear that something will go wrong. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow 🎉
I am the same @AlisonDanuta , some days the symptoms are much worse than others. Each day I have a period of time where I feel very fatigued and nauseous, some days it's only 20min and others it's the whole day. I feel lucky that I haven't actually thrown up yet. I'm going on holiday to Croatia this weekend so really hoping it doesn't kick in when I'm away!

AlisonDanuta · 11/05/2023 20:23

How great @Jupiteer you are also booked in with midwife! It's surreal! I found it saying "I'm pregnant" very strange and can't hide the proud in my voice lol !

We're exactly week apart as I'm 9 w tomorrow 🥰

Ohh how lovely you're going on holiday!
We are looking at holiday destinations but can't decide where to go! Definitely somewhere in Europe, just in case!
I love Croatia! Been many years ago so maybe will have a look ;) 😉

How is everyone getting on?

My excitement after the 7 week scan has definitely worn off and now I'm just terrified that something will go wrong between now and the 12 week scan.

My nausea comes and goes and today I've started with lower back pain which is quite uncomfortable when I'm moving about.

Also had a notification from my Apple Watch to tell me my resting heart rate has dropped which has made me worry but I know these things can fluctuate.

Trying not to overthink things but it's such a long wait to the 12 week scan.
Anyone else feel like they're going a bit mad with the wait?

AlisonDanuta · 17/05/2023 19:49

Hello @nizo1245 how's your back?
I keep having like a sciatica sensation in my left bum cheek!

Unfortunately because we're having IVF babies - we worry waaaay more than anyone else!

I'm trying just to treat this as normal pregnancy now! Since I got discharged from my clinic and after the first scan, I believed I'm pregnant as seen it on the screen! So I'm thinking that we've already had 1 more scan than "normal" people lol

I have an app tomorrow with a midwife! Not sure what to expect but still nervous!
Also had a letter from the hospital with my scan date - it's 13 week! So need to be patient!!!

How's everyone doing??
