@1stcycle sorry they weren't clearer on the phone. Definitely ask more questions today when they ring. Good luck for the day 3 update :)

@Spin101 hope you get your prescription sorted. That's so unnecessary stress. Hope you manage to still stay relaxed at least a bit. Mine didn't really do a blood test until the day of transfer which suggests extra progesterone is fine from day of / day after transfer. All the best for the transfer today. Keeping everything crossed for you X

@ralno2 how are you doing?

@Tinkerbell098 @seekingbabyk thanks I just had the update.

Of the 3, 1 is looking good quality she said and and the right stage for today. The other two are slightly behind. She said transfer Wednesday, and said might not have to be prepared that there might not be an embryo to transfer but she said at the moment it looks good. So feeling a bit anxious about that.

I asked how many were mature and she said 7 were mature 3 fertilised normally and 1 abnormally so they had to disregard that one and then 3 didn’t fertilise. So I guess if we have to do this again we will have to look into that. I just feel so deflated as I feel in the same situation at last time.

I know all it takes is one egg so 🤞🏻I really hope it makes it to transfer!

seekingbabyk · 13/02/2023 09:26

@1stcycle I'm sorry it wasn't the news you wanted but ultimately she didn't say any were out of the race which is great news! It could have been that the other two were disregarded too. Fingers crossed they play catch up and are just being stubborn! I've read plenty of stories where the embryologist says that and you end up with a better result so try to stay positive and we're all rooting for you xx

Spin101 · 13/02/2023 08:05

@Decaffe as soon as I started reading your message I remembered what you had to go through on the morning of transfer 😞 Thank you so much for the reassurance and sharing the graph again! I really hope they have stock of the medication! xx

If not then try an Asda pharmacy, they are usually well stocked for Lubion. Thinking of you today! X

Decaffe · 13/02/2023 10:51

@1stcycle sending lots of encouraging and hopeful vibes to your embryos! It’s a horrible wait isn’t it but you are in my thoughts 🫂

1stcycle · 13/02/2023 11:38

@Decaffe @seekingbabyk thanks both. I’m trying to be positive now. Last time we had the same situation and we got to 1 being transferred so I’m just being positive that the same will happen again. and yes she didn’t say the other two were out of the running yet just that they were behind so hopefully they will catch up!

its great we have this to talk and share experiences cos sometimes it’s just so frustrating the comments from others. We were at my OH parents on the weekend and one of his sisters has had 2 babies since we have been trying (so she has 3 now) and the other one is pregnant with her second since we have been trying. Which is lovely and we love all our nieces and are blessed. But my MIL always makes comments, one of many this weekend was ohh “3 is a nice number of babies to have” like me and my hubby inside thinking we would be lucky to get one. Probably just sensitive from EC and the news and we haven’t shared our experience but still read the room and you see one of your 3 children is childless maybe shouldn’t keep making these comments.

Honeybunie · 13/02/2023 11:39

Hope everything goes well today @Spin101 best of luck with the transfer xx
@1stcycle hope you get a positive phone call today!

Spin101 · 13/02/2023 14:11

@Tinkerbell098 @Decaffe @Honeybunie thank you! I managed to get the prescription. Transfer is soon.

for those of you who did need Lubion, did your clinic advise on when to take it, for example in the middle of the day if pessaries are taken morning and evening?

Tinkerbell098 · 13/02/2023 14:41

@Spin101 great you got the lubion. Sending all positive vibes your way for your transfer. I was asked to take the lubion between 7-9 pm. No idea why! I took pessaries around 11 am and then 11pm just before bedtime and lubion at 7 pm.

Excellent news! I was on two injections a day so they just said ‘morning and evening,’ I tried to do it every 12 hours to keep the levels steady.

Spin101 · 13/02/2023 17:08

Thank you ladies! What a journey I’ve had today…
Picked up the lubion, went to another clinic to have my transfer (as my clinic doesn’t have an embryology lab). As soon as we entered the theatre, I knew something was up. Our 5AA embryo hadn’t thawed properly and they thought it was no good so thawed a 4AB which apparently also didn’t seem to thaw as well as they wanted. Then they realised both were expanding slowly. They told us that on the spot and asked us do we want to transfer two embryos (which my clinic advised against so I was surprised) or just one. We mentioned my thin lining and the doctor said his recommendation would be to transfer one. They looked at both of them again and decided the 4AB looked better so transferred that one. My bladder was so full during these conversations, I had to go and empty my bladder a bit 😆 before transfer.
Got to the car to drive home and opened up the lubion box and saw they were solutions for injections rather than the pre filled syringes (which is what the nurse said I would be getting). I should have some needles and syringes at home but it didn’t even register when I picked them up that it didn’t seem bulky enough to have 7 injections per box! I’ve emailed the clinic now. Wish the process doesn’t have to be so painful

Honeybunie · 13/02/2023 17:36

Jesus @Spin101 what a day?!! So first of all: what happened to the 5AA? Can they freeze it again? 😱Jeezzz Louise.
Oh nooo yeah you do need syringes and needles for the lubion. Your clinic should provide these no? I guess it might have all been a bit last minute with the late blood test, but holy moly. a bit more info would have been nice?! hope you have enough for now. I'd probably say jab yourself as soon as you can today. otherwise I wouldn't know how to space the lubion with two pessaries a day. I only had 1 lubion in the morning and 1 pessary at night.
my first transfer was a little bit delayed so by the time they called me in i also need a wee really badly and went to release some.. but I ended up having a full on wee 😂but luckily it was no problem as my uterus seems to be pretty straight and she managed to get the catheter in no problem. phew 😅

Honeybunie · 13/02/2023 17:50

awww @1stcycle I know these comments are horrible and a slap in the face. It's just so insensitive. Like you chose to have no children and they need to remind you they do want grandchildren from you. Esp hurtful when it comes from family. I take it they don't know about the IVF? my mum was always horrible for making very implicit comments until when i first knew something was wrong and started investigations I snapped and told her straight what's going on. she's totally behind me now obvs lol. tbf she's facing similar problems as her friends and colleagues don't shut up about all their grandchildren, like there's nothing else to talk about anymore lol. she hates it 😅get a life people

1stcycle · 13/02/2023 18:21

@Spin101 ohh that sounds like a hell of a day. So glad you managed to get one on board at least though and congratulations on being PUPO!!! What will happen to that other thawed embryo now?

@Honeybunie No we haven’t told anyone to be honest (just you guys haha) my partners family is quite big lots of aunties and cousins etc and everyone knows everyone’s business so we just wanted to keep it between us as I know they would just be constantly looking for updates and everyone of the extended family would know every detail. We are used to the comments now off everyone and I know half the time they don’t realise what they are saying, and half the time can just easily ignore or brush off. I think I was just feeling a bit raw this weekend after EC so every comment just got to me 🤦🏽‍♀️

Spin101 · 13/02/2023 20:13

@Honeybunie I know! Love that you had a proper wee! 🤣 They gave me a cup and told me exactly how much to empty 😆

Turns out the nurse gave me incorrect information. Another nurse called and confirmed they are supposed to be solutions only. Luckily I still have the needles and syringes. However when OH injected me, the syringe came off the needle after the needle was in me and a bit squirted out and the injection site is a bit sore. The leaflet refers to a grey and green needles. I had pink and yellow ones. Surely that shouldn’t impact anything.

@1stcycle thank you!

They said they would culture the thawed embryo and if it develops they will refreeze. Otherwise, there’s nothing else they can do 😞

MinBins · 13/02/2023 20:36

@Spin101 what a day, I hope they are able to refreeze and congratulations on being PUPO!

I wonder what needle colours would mean, when I had my injections there was one extra long and thick one which initially worried me until I realised it was to pull the liquid into, and then a smaller one for injecting. They were yellow and green.

@1stcycle I completely understand the frustration of having to deal with that. And awful when it's family too. 💕

Imisscoffee2021 · 13/02/2023 21:55

@Spin101 the first bunch of lubion I had was pink and yellow, then when I got restocked it was white/grey and green so don't think it makes a difference, just different manufacturing. As long as you don't use the big scary needle for administering 😅 doubt anyone could make that mistake! I sometimes had a bit squeeze out from injection site as its quite an oily substance, a tiny amount lost shouldn't hurt.

Spin101 · 13/02/2023 22:20

@MinBins I know 😅 and thank you!

@Imisscoffee2021 Thank you, I’m clearly overthinking the needles.

Do any of you know a good source for understanding what progesterone levels should be on day of transfer? I think she said mine was in the low twenties and they want it to me closer to 30, but I’m reading conflicting info.

ralno2 · 14/02/2023 08:47

Hi everyone!

Still on the dreaded 2WW. Trying to keep myself occupied.

I have friends visiting for a few days which is good, they arrived yesterday and are staying with us - we went to a classical concert last night and I have an awful feeling the loudness of the orchestra has impacted my implantation. I know it sounds odd but I could feel the vibrations on the back of my chair and I have woken up wiht pains in my abdomen as if I have been doing 100 crunches. I just have been clenching my stomach without thinking. It was a lot louder than I thought.

We are going to London today to do a bit of sight seeing so going to take it easy, I'm a ball of anxiety that last night has caused more damage than good. And I only planned it as a way to distract myself.

ralno2 · 14/02/2023 08:48

... 6 days post 5 day transfer.

MinBins · 14/02/2023 08:55

@ralno2 there's so much that plays on our mind during the first week post transfer. I had my sister over and I ended up having to super clean the whole house and carry items - and later began thinking the same. If I laid down too much, I'd think I've scuppered my chances.

The concert sounds lovely, and I think we get vibrations while on the train, driving or walking so I don't think it would have impacted anything.

The little beans are tough, if implantation takes place - then they'll be locked tight 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Sending you all of the positive thoughts and luck!

ralno2 · 14/02/2023 09:05

Thanks @MinBins

Just reading your message alone has helped my anxiety a lot this morning.

I questions everything, did I do too much walking/ house work or did I not do enough. It's an absolute mind f*ck!!

I honestly thought it would have been the best idea to have friends over and not in questioning that too!

My nurses told me to not lay in bed and be as active as I can be... I've probs my been more active in the last 6 days than I have been the last 6 months 🤣

It's impossible to know what the right thing to do is and my OTD feels like centuries away, the days don't seem to be going quick 🙄

ralno2 · 14/02/2023 09:06

Sorry so many typos in that last message 🙈 @MinBins

seekingbabyk · 14/02/2023 09:11

@Spin101 what a day! Congratulations on being PUPO - I'm glad they got one in! That needing a pee feeling is immense! One nurse told me to have half a pee before going in, then when I got in my bladder wasn't full enough and I had to chug 6 glasses of water. My transfer took a while as the cervix is quite far back so they were mucking about for ages! Keeping everything crossed for you hopefully your little bean is putting down some roots today! And I hope you get positive news about the second one!

@ralno2 I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine. By now it would be embedded into the lining too so nice and cosy in there! Have a lovely day out in london x
