@seekingbabyk I know it's highly unlikely, but we still try. We don't time it anymore like when we first started trying, I know it takes the fun out of it, but we do make sure we do it just before ovulation. Just remembered, OH had a DNA breakage test for reserach purposes during our first round and we received the results in our last consulation. His DNA was fine, yay, but apparently his swimmers die pretty quickly once their out. So they wouldn't survive in my body for long. Another one to add to our list of infertility reasons lol. Oh well. ICSI is our only hope really.
So I feed him Vit A, C, D, E, Selenium, R-alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, DHA in Omega 3 capsules, L-carnitine, and these expensive Impryl tables which basically include Zinc and Folate, which the consultant asked us to take.

seekingbabyk · 10/02/2023 12:19

Blimey that's a lot @Honeybunie

I feel like I'm rattling when I walk now from the tablets and honestly can't wait for this bit to be done. We are going for the end of March for round 3. We are potentially going away in may to the USA for 4 weeks so really want to go knowing this part is done and finished with. It falls over my birthday which is a bit of a pain but everything else is perfect for timing so just going with it!

Honeybunie · 10/02/2023 12:31

@seekingbabyk I know 😂Going all out to give it our best shot 😁we got used to taking them now and I have to say I feel invincible knowing I'm on all these supplements. No virus can touch us now lol. We didn't even have to start taking them already, as they said we need to take them for only 3 months before our next round, which will be in June now, but I thought f it, let's do this haha.
Yeah it'll be nice for you to get it out of the way before you go on a big trip 😃We're going to Bali and Singapore for most of April for work reasons but making a holiday out of it at the same time that's why we can't do it any earlier. But I'm glad we get to have this hopefully last big trip before starting again.

Thank you @Honeybunie. I hope you had a lovely birthday! I’m sorry some people really overstep the mark with their comments. I would be raging. It’s not good for us to stress and those people aren’t worth our energy. I know it’s easier said than done and it’s so frustrating when people say don’t wait. It’s like 🖕😂

@1stcycle glad to hear egg collection went well! I hope you recover well and are ready for the fresh transfer next week. (I think I read you’re having a fresh. Sorry if I’ve got that wrong). Good idea so you have it if you need it. If you don’t collect, the pharmacy can give them to someone else I think. The medication shortage is worrying. I was prescribed patches a couple of weeks ago and the hospital boots were out of stock and said we can get you some in three days and I said I really need this today. Luckily they managed to find me some from the inpatient pharmacy.

Spin101 · 10/02/2023 17:37

i forgot to say happy birthday @Imisscoffee2021!! I hope you’re having a lovely day! 🥰

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/02/2023 17:55

Thank you for the birthday wishes ladies! Woke up with a major headache from sleeping on 2 pillows instead of 1 to avoid reflux, and felt more tired than if I'd just stayed awake all night, truly feel every year of 35 😅 was working today but always lovely with my job and team, had a rousing chorus of happy birthday which is just as embarrassing at 35 as it is 8.

@1stcycle that's a fab number for you, fingers crossed you get a good fertilisation update tomorrow!

I'm so envious of the travel planned in this group atm! Bali and the US!

1stcycle · 11/02/2023 09:14

Thanks all, had a few pains in tummy but nothing bad and just slept a lot yesterday. Just got the call and they said 3 have fertilised so same as last time. Feeling s bit deflated as feel in same situation, although we did get a fresh transfer last time the other two didn’t make it so was hoping for better numbers this time. I know it only takes one, just really hope we even get one to transfer.

MinBins · 11/02/2023 10:52

Happy belated birthday @Imisscoffee2021!

Just catching up on messages - lots of lovely travel planned!

Fingers crossed for you @1stcycle three is positive, keeping my fingers crossed for you🤞🏼🤞🏼

seekingbabyk · 11/02/2023 17:50

@Honeybunie wow your trip sounds amazing!

@1stcycle keeping everything crossed for your 3 little beans. Don't feel too disheartened. Did they give you any idea on what caused the drop off or how many were mature?

Spin101 · 11/02/2023 23:15

Sorry if this is a stupid question ladies. I read that sex before transfer might help with implantation. Did any of you have sex whilst using the pessaries vaginally? Were you advised to use the pessaries rectally on the day of transfer?

Spin101 · 11/02/2023 23:16

@1stcycle glad you got some rest in. I hope all 3 make it to blasts ❤️ xx

Imisscoffee2021 · 12/02/2023 07:34

@1stcycle fingers crossed your three make it to blast this time, will you get a day 3 update?
@Spin101 I was always told no sex during the ivf round at all, I think in case a follicle was missed and you get pregnant naturally and end up with multiples. Tiny tiny chance but my clinic was firm on it, but others have been different so I'm not 100% sure tbh!

Tinkerbell098 · 12/02/2023 09:58

@Spin101 similar to @Imisscoffee2021 , my clinic was also strict about sex during the cycle, so we didn't. Also, the morning of the transfer they didn't want me to insert the pessary at all so I skipped it. However, inserted after transfer. They said it gets messy and they want the cervix area clean.

Honeybunie · 12/02/2023 10:24

@1stcycle I also keep all my fingers crossed for you that the three turn into beautiful little blasts 🍀❤️
@Spin101 my clinic was the same. No unprotected sex during the whole process. And I just went rectally all the way as I hated the mess coming out otherwise

Spin101 · 12/02/2023 14:42

Thank you ladies. I think I will abstain rather than risking something like thrush or BV just before transfer. Had bloods taken today for progesterone. The clinic will call later if I need to top up with injections

Spin101 · 12/02/2023 21:47

@Honeybunie if you insert the pessaries rectally, do you still need to lay down for 30 mins?

Honeybunie · 12/02/2023 22:21

@Spin101 uh how were your progesterone levels? Did they call and let you know today? All good for transfer?
Good question.. I always took them in the evenings just before bed so went to lie down anyway lol but I don’t think you would need to lie down in the day no. I think that only applies to vaginally 🤔

Spin101 · 12/02/2023 22:25

@Honeybunie Thank you x
they were lower than needed unfortunately. I need to go back to the hospital pharmacy to pick up injections. I went today after the blood test but they didn’t have my prescription. A bit stressful to have to go there tomorrow morning, as I have to go to a different clinic for my transfer in the afternoon.
They haven’t said I can’t go ahead with the transfer but I am worried now. If my levels are low, not sure starting injections tomorrow is going to help. I’m going to email the clinic now to check.

Honeybunie · 12/02/2023 22:32

Oh no @Spin101 that sounds quite stressful and a bit last minute. I’m sorry to hear. Since they haven’t said anything I hope there’s nothing to worry about and I really really hope your levels are still within the range and the injections will help so that you can go ahead with the transfer. Crossing all fingers and toes for you 🤞🤞🤞 xx

Spin101 · 12/02/2023 22:42

@Honeybunie thank you so much! I’ve just emailed them so will hopefully hear back in the morning xx

I had this problem with my second transfer; my P level was 8(!!) on the morning of the transfer. We went ahead and I had a Lubion injection 1.5 hours later.

I was very worried about it indeed but I did a quick literature search. There are some Spanish (IIRC) researchers who have looked at this and I even contacted them, and they replied! The good news is that so-called ‘luteal rescue’ can happen if progesterone injections are started no later than the day of transfer. The injections literally ‘rescue’ the P levels and pregnancy outcomes are the same. If you can search either at the start of this thread or our previous one, I think I actually shared some graphs about it!

So - do not worry. Take the injection as soon as you can tomorrow and very best of luck with the transfer.

Decaffe · 12/02/2023 23:21

“Ongoing pregnancy rate was absolutely comparable when subcutaneous P [e.g. Lubion] was added the day of embryo transfer to the vaginal luteal phase support”

@Decaffe as soon as I started reading your message I remembered what you had to go through on the morning of transfer 😞 Thank you so much for the reassurance and sharing the graph again! I really hope they have stock of the medication! xx

1stcycle · 13/02/2023 08:26

Thanks all, had a quiet weekend and been quite tired after this EC.
@seekingbabyk no they didn’t say this time how many were mature, the call was very quick she just said of the 10 we collected 3 have fertilised so far then rushed off the phone. last time they said of the 9 I had collected 5 were mature and 3 fertilised so I understood the numbers better. I was just a bit gutted as this time we were hoping more mature eggs by doing it differently but I don’t even know if we did or didn’t so I’ll ask when they call today. I also thought was a bit odd when she said “so far” too, which makes it sound like more could after but I don’t think that is the case. It’s a stressful enough time I just wish they were more clear with what they tell you.

hope for good news today 🤞🏻

seekingbabyk · 13/02/2023 08:31

@1stcycle that's frustrating that you feel they could have told you more! I sure your consultant could let you know anyway once you speak to them. Sorry you've been wiped - I was like that on my second one too actually. Keeping everything crossed for your call today x
