Thanks @Tinkerbell098 I'll keep you all updated x

Decaffe · 22/11/2022 10:28

Sending lots of positive eggy thoughts your way @seekingbabyk!

Ah thanks @Tinkerbell098 and @Imisscoffee2021. I am starting to lean towards there being some sort of implantation/immune response issue so (perhaps foolishly), I feel if we can get to a transfer then the steroids might help me finally achieve a second line. It's just the BC surviving the thaw that's playing on my mind as the stats for that aren't so great.

How are things going today @Imisscoffee2021 has the spotting cleared up now?

Imisscoffee2021 · 22/11/2022 11:40

@Decaffe @Tinkerbell098 yes the spottings gone and mild cramling gone too, definitely get a bit tender when pessaries are in, think the prolonged use is taking a toll! I'll ask at the scan on Friday if I can switch to cyclogest!

@Tinkerbell098 this transfer was an expanded blastocyst so again high graded, but this time I took super high dose vit d for implantation and had less drugs in my body from frozen, so I felt more positive going in, feeling positive for yours x

seekingbabyk · 22/11/2022 12:31

Hi girls @Imisscoffee2021 @Decaffe @Tinkerbell098 so we managed to get 10 eggs - so happy with that! Feel a bit worse this time - definitely worse cramps and bloating and felt like it took ages to come round lol! Tried to pee but nothing happening so just waiting for that chugging water and we can get dressed and leave x

Tinkerbell098 · 22/11/2022 12:47

@seekingbabyk oh wow that's amazing! you must be so pleased. hoping for a great fertilisation rate. Get plenty of rest and hope you recover well. Lots of love to you and your eggies X

@seekingbabyk hopefully you have a lovely restful day after that great result! Hoping for a great fertilisation rate for you and hubby xx

seekingbabyk · 22/11/2022 13:00

Thanks ladies. Yeah I'm so happy for a better result than last time. Last time only 4 were mature too but this time we were two days later so really hoping for more mature ones!

MinBins · 22/11/2022 15:35

@seekingbabyk that's fab news - fingers crossed for the next stage!

Spin101 · 22/11/2022 19:10

Hi ladies, @Tinkerbell098 thank you for tagging me!

I need to catch up on messages in the thread. I hope you’re all doing ok ❤️

I had a call with the clinic yesterday and will need to wait until next year to start on my FET. I’m looking forward to being able to relax a bit over the next month and a bit

1stcycle · 23/11/2022 08:09

Hi all thanks for the new thread! Sorry I have been a little quiet for a while. I had another CP straight after and it’s been such a busy time at work and home so I’ve just been taking some time off the internet googling things every 2 mins as it was making me crazy. I am on holidays now and being able to relax and think better.

still planned to do our next round in January which I think was a good shout to have time to get over the last few months and just relax and start the new year fresh!

@Tinkerbell098 did you decide if you were going to do yours in December?

@Imisscoffee2021 such good news that your scan went well and that shows that bleeding is not always bad! So happy for you! Is your next scan on Friday?

@seekingbabyk glad egg collection went well, 10 beautiful eggs 😍 how are you feeling today?

seekingbabyk · 23/11/2022 09:03

@1stcycle glad to hear you have some time to regroup now. It's such a rollercoaster this whole process I think we need to have normality for a few weeks to get perspective

I'm feeling much better today. Completely different experience this time with recovery. I was in a lot of pain yesterday afternoon - could barely walk and the sedation completely wiped me out so I napped a lot! Feeling less sore this morning though and just anxiously waiting for our phone call now 🤞🏻

Tinkerbell098 · 23/11/2022 09:09

@1stcycle good to hear from you again. Sorry about the CP. Glad you’ve got some time off now to relax a bit. I’m not too sure if I’ll start in Dec anymore. I think my AF will be late. I didn’t ovulate until day 20 or so and now my BBT is doing a weird up and down thing since O day which I’ve never seen before. So I think my cycles still haven’t regulated after the MC. So I’ll probably also wait until Jan.

@seekingbabyk good to hear you’re feeling better today. Good luck for the phone call. Everything crossed for you for a great fertilisation rate X

Omg the clinic just called and all ten were mature and 9 fertilised! So so happy! Just goes to show that sometimes you need a bit of tweaking to your protocol to get a good result. Now the worrying about our day 5 results starts!

Decaffe · 23/11/2022 09:31

Wow!! 🤩 That’s fantastic @seekingbabyk! Can you remind me, what were the tweaks to your protocol?

Tinkerbell098 · 23/11/2022 09:41

@seekingbabyk aww that’s amazing! Glad the extra wait for EC paid off in the end. Have a nice relaxing rest of the day X

seekingbabyk · 23/11/2022 09:53

@Decaffe so first round was 150 menopur and 9 days of stims. This round 225 menopur and 12 days of stims. I think this round is more reflective of what others have. My amh is quite high so they were under the impression I wouldn't need much stimulation but that wasn't the case.

Tbh though the first round I had so much anxiety. I had tried clomid in the past and the side effects were awful so left me feeling scared. Also I've never had any kind of anaesthetic before so I was really scared of the sedation but this round I've been absolutely fine so that could have helped too x

MinBins · 23/11/2022 11:16

I'm really happy for you @seekingbabyk!

It sounds like a similar situation to me, I was on a lower dose (125iu of Meriofert) and now will be on bemfola 300iu. It's reassuring to hear that the tweaks made a difference - I'll keep all fingers crossed for you on the next leg of the journey!

seekingbabyk · 23/11/2022 11:32

@MinBins I think some clinics maybe like to go in with a lower dose at first to see how you react, make sure no OHSS, etc. I've seen some people refer to it as a test run so I'm sure that's quite common. Keeping everything crossed for you that you get a great response on your next round x

Tinkerbell098 · 23/11/2022 12:02

@seekingbabyk I think first round is always sort of trial and error isn't it? I felt like that with mine. They didn't really know what to start with. Did you do short cycle with both? I'm glad tweaking's given you great results. Would you still do another EC if you get good number of blasts from this one?

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 23/11/2022 12:28

@Tinkerbell098 yes short cycle on both and I'm over the moon with the results so far.

Yes even if all 9 make it to the freezer we are still going to do another round next year. I want to future proof ourselves and know that that this bit is over. Because I'm 38 next year I just feel that my eggs now are the best they'll ever be and we need to take advantage of that. I see so many accounts on IG where they have various failed transfers and I think even if we got pregnant now and then went for number 2, it's still risky to expect by the time I'm 39/40 I'll be able to produce good quality eggs. Also if we are ever fortunate enough to have a little one running around, I wouldn't fancy the stims bit again whilst caring for them. We just both feel like take advantage of the multi cycle package we bought and give ourselves the best chance going forwards x

Tinkerbell098 · 23/11/2022 12:33

@seekingbabyk that makes a lot of sense! That's very good thinking and planning. As you've already paid for it, might as well use it and you'll have great options for the future.

MammyandAva · 23/11/2022 12:40

Hi all,

I hope you are all well?

Unfortunately I didn't have a very good outcome and out of 23 follicles I have one frozen blastocyst 4AA.

I have spoken to the clinic for a reason for such a low success rate as I'm only 30 and they have said it's down to the sperm quality - which is extremely frustrating as we used a donor and was purchased directly from the clinic

Fingers crossed that the one I have is "the one" as I'm not sure I could do egg collection again the pain was horrific.

Tinkerbell098 · 23/11/2022 12:45

@MammyandAva oh I'm sorry, but it's a great quality blast that you've got frozen, so fingers crossed it's the one. Frustrating that they didn't check the quality of the sperm before fertilisation, especially as you had to purchase it!

OP posts:
MammyandAva · 23/11/2022 12:49

@Tinkerbell098 I'm hoping so too!

I've had to go for a frozen transfer due to risk of OHSS.

Out of 23 eggs only 5 fertilised and three made it to day 5. But I lost another two as they weren't a high enough grade to freeze.

I did say that to the clinic and they said that it's only tested before it's frozen 🫣 extremely frustrating when it cost £1300 for that alone.

Imisscoffee2021 · 23/11/2022 13:11

@seekingbabyk such wonderful news! Hope they all grow beautifully and you get the best news on day 5!

@MammyandAva let's hope that 4aa is the one that was meant to be! That does seem a strange thing from the clinic, surely the sperm would be good quality as they vet the donations?
