Hey everyone.
So I’m just getting ready to start my second round of ICSI after suffering a MMC last Aug.
I have 2 more weeks of Norethisterone before I await the important bleed and then start my injections, yippee!

I was so chilled when I received my protocol and now I’m getting a little nervous as I know what’s to come. Unfortunately none of the embryos from our last round were high enough quality to freeze so we are starting from scratch. I’m preying for higher quality this time but I guess that’s out of our hands.

I wanted to start a thread as I know how helpful it was on my first round and it’s nice to know your not alone in what can seem like a very isolating process ❤️

Hi, I've just started spotting I've never had this before. I'm 8dp5dt and had positive tests. Can this be normal? X

unCliche · 10/05/2022 20:22

@Alexm06 whoa! So affordable! How many goes do you get in Australia? Or is it unlimited? Because that would be amazing! Will you be moving back to Australia or will you just stay for the duration of an IVF cycle? Either way, I hope this cycle works out for you so that it's not an option you have to consider in the near future.

@ty1982 I'll be 9dp5dt tomorrow.
I think spotting can be normal during early pregnancy, as long as its not red, painful and heavy. As you able to call your clinic for reassurance?

@ty1982 my clinic said to try not to worry unless it was ‘like a period’. Spotting is very common.

I like hard data and facts to help me process and predict things and have found this helpful even if it is quite stark.

ty1982 · 10/05/2022 20:57

Thanks @unCliche @TerrazzoChips does make me feel better. This journey is so hard x

Glitterandunicorns · 11/05/2022 00:24

@Alexm06 that's great to have Australia as a back-up plan. Fingers crossed you don't need to use it.

@ty1982 that sounds stressful. I can't speak as to spotting following IVF, but I had pink spotting during early pregnancy with my son (he was a long-tried for miracle before we were diagnosed with secondary infertility) and everything turned out fine. I was told that you only need to worry if it's heavy red bleeding and you get cramps with it. I hope you're ok.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. In unrelated news, my son started sniffling this morning and this afternoon I developed a bit of a sore throat so have just done another Covid test and it's positive. It's my second time in three months.

Thank God I managed to get collection done before this happened, and at least with this being freeze-all, it shouldn't affect our treatment. I had to cancel a cycle right before collection a few months ago due to Covid so I would have been inconsolable for the same thing to happen twice in three months, especially with being privately funded.

We are so so careful too; masks everywhere and windows open if we have company and avoiding going into the office. To be fair though, if you have a child in school (or you're a teacher), it's somewhat inevitable.

Girlwholifts · 11/05/2022 07:58

@Alexm06 WOW what a difference in price! Fingers crossed this round works and you don't have to go down that route but as a back up plan that it pretty good! We too are like you, just thinking of the cost for another cycle makes me want to cry! Fingers crossed for this round though 💛

@Sxd515 How you feeling? Yeh I thought mine was way to long. I contacted the nurse yesterday and they are getting back to me today. They too thought that was too long but said it may have been down to late implantation in my last cycle or having 2 put back so we shall see. I'm sure aunt flow would show before then anyway.

I hope all you other ladies are keeping well. Just out of interest, are some of you using first response tests? I used Clearblue digital last cycle but not sure this time?

@Girlwholifts ah fingers crossed they can explain why it is a long wait. How are you doing? I'm trying to keep busy and was fine but the last day or so I've started overthinking everything . I had some mild cramps Monday but nothing since. Yesterday was the first time in weeks I've felt "normal" and not some giant bloated mess. It doesn't help my DH is abroad now with work. Dreadful timing but couldn't be helped! Hope you're not going as crazy as me ha.

@Glitterandunicorns so sorry to hear you and your son have covid. I hope you're both ok! Thank goodness you got egg collection done and like you say, with it likely being freeze all anyway it's good it won't affect your treatment. Wishing you a speedy recovery

Girlwholifts · 11/05/2022 08:48

@Sxd515 I’m actually doing ok thank you. I own a gym so thankfully have been kept occupied in the office, had the occasional sneaky nap too 🤣
Gutting your other half is away, will he be back for OTD? I’m a huge overthinker too. I’ve mentally prepared myself for the worst but then my thoughts drift off to what if one does implant or they both implant, then what will happen and then I reign myself back in 😅 I think driving yourself crazy is part of the rollercoaster, it becomes the new normal.

@ty1982 how you doing today lovely?

ty1982 · 11/05/2022 08:55

@Girlwholifts hi I’m doing ok just waiting for clinic to call. However not had anymore bleeding but a few cramps. I will keep you all informed.

unCliche · 11/05/2022 15:59

@Glitterandunicorns Oh no! Hope your covid symptoms don't get too serious and you and your son get well soon!

@Sxd515 That's what implantation (I think) felt like for me. I had no cramping day of ET. Then AF-like cramping on 1dp- and 2dp5dt and nothing since. So feeling normal sounds good! Fingers crossed for some good news soon!

@ty1982 That's good to hear. Hope you're feeling a bit better now. Have you heard from the clinic?

I got my beta results for 9dp5dt - 176.

Alexm06 · 11/05/2022 16:02

@unCliche I know it's crazy how they can charge so much here and not over there. That's just how much a fresh cycle and frozen cycles are and yeah just unlimited!
I would go back just for the cycle but probably for a couple of months in case it doesn't work and I need a frozen after but yeah I feel lucky I have that option. Trying to stay positive about this cycle but it's hard.

How's everyone getting on?

Sxd515 · 11/05/2022 19:18

@Girlwholifts glad you're doing ok and keeping busy! My thoughts also definitely drift too and it's so difficult. Unfortunately OH will be away until after OTD and he's in the US and 5 hours behind so it's all a bit painful. But nevermind!

@ty1982 I hope you're ok and the clinic rang you ❤️

@unCliche ah that's interesting. Honestly it's just as well I'm busy at work because even with that I'm googling things way too much so trying to be strict and focus on other things!

Hopeful199 · 12/05/2022 06:15

@ty1982 really hope all is OK and it was just a bit of implantation ❤

I had a transfer yesterday but it was all a bit of mess tbh - feeing pretty sad this morning.

Had a stressful evening the night before and it just rattled me I think. This was my third transfer (2nd FET) so think i was feeling more tense, then i got there to be told one emby hadn't survived the thaw..... which only leaves me one in the freezer. DH couldn't be there yesterday and i could feel myself working up..... lots of tears before, during and after the procedure..... not ideal. This was followed by a disastrous 2.5 hour trip to the pharmacy and the realisation that I had forgotten my door-keys and was late to collect my daughter.....such a mess and now clearly convinced myself all the drama has scuppered my chances. Never wanted to go into a transfer feeling that way and have spent all night googling 'stress and chances of implantation failure'.... 😭

Please keep your fingers crossed for me..... i was doing well with the process up until now!

ty1982 · 12/05/2022 07:20

@Hopeful199 so sorry to hear it was a stressful transfer. I am sure it won’t have affecting anything.. I have everything crossed for you. X

Hopeful199 · 12/05/2022 07:21

Thanks @ty1982

is all OK with you? x

Girlwholifts · 12/05/2022 10:13

@Sxd515 oh bless you! I'm sure you'll be calling him with the great news he's coming home to a bun in the oven. I've heard back from my clinic and they have changed it to Tuesday which will be day 15, that seems more normal. I woke up this morning and all the doubt has really kicked in. I feel too normal for anything to be happening so I've pretty much convinced myself that I'm out of the running now.

@unCliche I'm not very good with the beta info but isn't more that 100 really good? Was this tested at home? I bet you must be so pleased. When is you ODT?

@Hopeful199 Try not to over think it. I had a nightmare on my first cycle, ran late from traffic, was hot from rushing so failed the temp check so they tuned me away but it all worked out in the end. Day 2-4 are also important days so try and stay focused, I'm sure your body will have coped way better than you think 💛

@Alexm06 @ty1982 @Glitterandunicorns you all keeping well?

ty1982 · 12/05/2022 10:22

Thanks for all the messages. Thankfully the spotting stopped. Spoke with clinic and she said it could have been implantation bleeding or caused by pessaries.

Tests are still positive 😀

Glitterandunicorns · 12/05/2022 10:35

@Hopeful199 I'm sorry you had so much stress on your transfer day. I'm certain it doesn't affect your chances of success though. A doctor in my previous cycle explained to me that if stress affected pregnancy like that, you'd never have babies born in war zones. (I really hope that doesn't sound flippant, especially in the current situation, but it did help me to hear that).
Fingers crossed for you. X

Glitterandunicorns · 12/05/2022 10:39

@ty1982 that's great that the spotting has stopped! I hope you're feeling better about everything.

Day 2 in the Covid house: everyone is feeling pretty rough. My mother in law is really ill but the rest of us are able to get out of bed now and again.

In more cheerful news, today is our day 3 and we had a call from the embryologist this morning. Of the 7 we had fertilised, all have divided and 5 are looking a bit better than the others! We are delighted with those numbers. So they're going to grow them in until Saturday then see what will survive the freezing process 😃

I hope you're all feeling ok. X

unCliche · 12/05/2022 10:43

@Alexm06 omg unlimited! Yeah, in your position, I wouldn't even hesitate to do it over there. I really do hope it doesn't come to that but if it does then I'm glad financials will be one less thing for you to worry about 💕

@Sxd515 How many DPT are you now?

@Hopeful199 Embryos are very resilient (if they weren't, no one would get pregnant) and there's nothing you could personally do that would hurt them or affect implantation. IVF is super stressful at the best of times so don't worry too much about being super super stressed, just rest as much as you can over the next few days and try and get yourself into a good headspace, everything will be fine 🤗

@ty1982 Amazing! I'm happy for you!

@Girlwholifts I haven't felt much since 2dpt so I wouldn't count yourself out just yet! I don't know much about beta numbers either but the clinic seemed happy with it. My OTD was yesterday. My clinic requested the bloods, I had to go into London yesterday to have them done and then they called me back with the results. I have my early scan booked in for 6w6d on the 31st. I am pleased but if I'm honest, I haven't really felt much happiness or excitement, just acknowledgement. I just feel sad that infertility has ruined this experience for me.

unCliche · 12/05/2022 10:49

@Glitterandunicorns Aw that's such great day 3 numbers! I'm happy for you!! But sorry to hear how poorly your MIL is. I hope she and everyone else recovers soon.

Sxd515 · 12/05/2022 11:36

@Girlwholifts ah that's good it's Tuesday. Not toooo long (although appreciate it feels each day is a lifetime). I also feel normal. Some twingy cramps again but honestly they could me pre AF cramps so god knows.

@Hopeful199 that sounds very stressful but I agree with what others have said completely. Try not to worry ❤️

@Glitterandunicorns that's great news about your embryos! Brilliant! Wishing you all a speedy recovery from covid.

@unCliche I'm 5dp5dt. Like you I have to go to London then they will call. My OTD is Monday. Do you have a second beta or is the scan the next appointment?

Glitterandunicorns · 12/05/2022 12:32

Thank you for your well wishes!

@unCliche I'm sorry infertility has spoiled the experience for you. It is truly awful. I really hope things will seem a bit brighter when you have your scan. Not long to wait. X

@Sxd515 not long until OTD! I'm crossing my fingers for you. X

ty1982 · 12/05/2022 14:33

@unCliche I know how you feel this journey is so difficult. Actually took a clear blue with weeks indicated today and felt much happier seeing this x
