Hey everyone.
So I’m just getting ready to start my second round of ICSI after suffering a MMC last Aug.
I have 2 more weeks of Norethisterone before I await the important bleed and then start my injections, yippee!

I was so chilled when I received my protocol and now I’m getting a little nervous as I know what’s to come. Unfortunately none of the embryos from our last round were high enough quality to freeze so we are starting from scratch. I’m preying for higher quality this time but I guess that’s out of our hands.

I wanted to start a thread as I know how helpful it was on my first round and it’s nice to know your not alone in what can seem like a very isolating process ❤️

@StillTrying10000 on my first cycle I was on 2 x 400mg Cyclogest pessaries, this cycle I'm on the same plus 1g Crinone 8%

My first cycle was private and I had no idea about progesterone levels. This cycle is NHS funded and after telling them I had a MMC at 10 weeks they suggested it could have been down to low progesterone so switched it up. I would honestly raise your concerns with the clinic, book a test and see what happens, what have you got to lose Smile

I hope you don't mind me asking, have you had all you cycles at the same clinic?

@Hopeful199 that's so lovely! We all will be keeping our fingers crossed for you!

Thank you @Hopeful199 and @Girlwholifts I'm certainly going to check my progesterone at my next try then. I've seen medicheck do home tests you post back to them which look affordable so I'm going to try them out. x

Hopeful199 · 13/04/2022 13:31

@Girlwholifts I’m all done! Officially PUPO 🤞🏻

Hope everyone else is getting on OK x

Girlwholifts · 13/04/2022 16:10

@Hopeful199 AMAZING!! Sending baby dust your way ✨

@Rosegold007 I had polyps removed via the NHS about 6 months ago. I’m sorry to say it took a very long for me. I was referred to have it removed under the 2WW but it actually took 5-6months to have the op. If I were you I’d pay to go private if you could afford it.

DiscoStusMoonboots · 14/04/2022 09:07

Hello, mind if I join? Just started my Northisterone yesterday - my first scan is booked I for 26/4/22. Up until now I've been quite laid back about the whole thing, but this morning it has really hit me. How is everyone doing?

Girlwholifts · 14/04/2022 11:33

Hey @DiscoStusMoonboots welcome!

I am on my last day of Norethisterone 🎉 Is this your first cycle? Don’t worry we all have that feeling at one point of another, you’re not alone ☺️

Hey I’ve been reading all then forums for months wanting to message but didn’t know whether to as I’ve been a little overwhelmed since starting

I started my ivf route and my egg collection was yesterday they collected 19 eggs , I was told after my transfer would be on Monday

I had the phone call today to say 5 have fertilised which I’m really happy about I know from 19 maybe I should feel a bit disappointed but I just feel really positive and still think that’s such a good number they have also now said that there looking really good and my transfer might be Saturday now instead of Monday so I just got to wait for a phone call early Saturday morning!

So overwhelmed I’m in shock!
It’s such a rollercoaster of a journey and I’m wishing everyone luck ❤️

@StillTrying10000

Hello, I've had 5 failed IVF cycles now, 4 of which were chemical pregnancies (even with genetically tested embryos). My clinic don't do blood tests for HCG or Progesterone so I've getting paranoid my progesterone might have been low and causing the losses. I take 2 cyclogest a day and 1 Lubion. Do any of you take more than this? Have you ever been told your progesterone is low and had to up your levels? Thanks! x
Hello there. I just wanted to offer my thoughts. This sounds very low. I had IVF for genetic testing rather than infertility, I'm on six cyclogest daily (3 x 2) and three progesterone pessaries. Any sight of blood I'm instructed to double progesterone immediately. I'm surprised your clinic hasn't increased your progesterone. Can you speak to them? Thinking of you x
StillTrying10000 · 17/04/2022 10:32

@LadyPerksCyprus wow that really is a lot more! Thank you for letting me know.
I've managed to get my clinic to agree to testing my progesterone this next cycle and start from 2 cyclogest and 2 Lubion a day.
I've just had a natural cycle with 1 Lubion & 2 cyclogest and have started my period 7 days after ovulation. It just can't be right. So frustrating!
When do you test your levels so I know when to ask for the blood tests please x

Hi there xx My clinic haven't tested my levels I assume as I've had three successful pregnancies two naturally without any medication. Could you be firm with your clinic about wanting to test? Or find a private provider? My ultrasound clinic Cherish U.K. (Diana and Jacqui are just wonderful) offer an array of private scans tests and blood tests. I would be a bit confused if the clinic itself didn't request them however. Have you considered transferring your embryos to a different clinic? Were you scanned before transfer to check lining? Our clinic in Cyprus Genesis repeatedly increased our dosage throughout my cycle in line with scan findings. Xx

StillTrying10000 · 17/04/2022 11:56

@LadyPerksCyprus thank you. My lining has always been nice and thick so I haven't had an issue there. I'm under one of the top miscarriage clinics in the UK who link up with Kings for the IVF treatment. They really don't think it's a concern but something isn't right for my lutal phase to be so short. I hope the blood tests will help this cycle as I think it will be my final attempt x

This is a fascinating approach. Not sure if this might help. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5545218/

@LadyPerksCyprus wow that's interesting. Thanks for sharing. I only have day 5 embryos in the freezer though. I have been told to decide if I want to try a double transfer this cycle which I'm so torn on as I'd hate to waste 2 embryos but I do also feel like this might be my last try x

We did two fresh- no success - two frozen -one gorgeous son Ralph now 6!- and just transferred two frozen! I love doing two tbh. They didn't tell me until afterwards that they were perfect hatching blastocysts. I was excited but now I am really panicking. Spent all night terrifying myself online that both will take 🙈

Maybe only do the transfer if the clinic get to the bottom of the luteal phase concerns. It would be so awful to lose your last chance needlessly. I know your clinic is highly regarded but could you perhaps just tentatively ask for a second opinion at a different clinic during the free consultation phase so you know you can trust their approach?

Girlwholifts · 19/04/2022 08:49

Welcome @ks94 Smile
IVF is overwhelming at the best of times let alone when you are in the thick of it! How did transfer go?

Hopeful199 · 19/04/2022 10:04

Welcome @ks94

Hope the transfer went well and all the rest made it successfully to the freezer

you are right to be pleased with 5 - that is a great number!

Hope you are feeling well!

Alexm06 · 19/04/2022 11:19

Hey! I posted on here a few weeks ago. I was due to have a scratch last week but had a scan a few days before as I tend to get cysts so wanted to check before I did the scratch and wasted money if there was one. Anyways of course there was one so I didn't go ahead with the scratch and they booked me in for a scan on day 2 of my cycle just in case it was gone. I've had it before where I have had to wait up to 3 months for it to go. So had my scan this morning and it's collapsed and a lot smaller so they happy with me to start injections tomorrow. We have decided to just start without the scratch as I can't risk waiting again incase another 3 month cysts decides to return. So yeah all good to start tomorrow! How is everyone else getting on?

TerrazzoChips · 20/04/2022 17:05

I had my first scan at ABC today, I’m on the mild protocol but only have 17 follicles, and 12 of those are still very small. I know I only need one but a lot of what I read online is for more traditional higher dose stims. The clinician said it was ‘alright’ which sounded a bit underwhelming!

Girlwholifts · 21/04/2022 07:42

@Alexm06 That's great news! How did your first injection go? We started our injections too last night, super exciting! Feels very real now when you have alarms set for injection etc. Do you have an estimated EC date yet?

@TerrazzoChips 17 follicles is great, don't feel down beat about that at all! They may tweak you injections a little if they are worried they are on the smaller side but until then that's great news!

Alexm06 · 21/04/2022 19:30

@Girlwholifts yeah wasn't too bad bit stingy I don't remember it being stingy before haha how about you? Oh yeah soo real now! Yesss I am also taking prednisone so have to set one for the morning as well! When I have egg collection I'll have to set another one as I have to take it 3 times a day. No they have said yet, how about you?

Hopeful199 · 22/04/2022 08:07

BFN for me this morning sadly 😞

This was my second transfer, 1st frozen. Really thought it was the one…… but not meant to be

will console myself with a huge glass of wine tonight, prepare myself for AF and then start again. I wouldn’t mind going through it all if they could guarantee it would work eventually 💔

hope everyone else is well and that there is better news for all of you soon x

unCliche · 22/04/2022 22:17

@Hopeful199 Oh no, I'm so sorry! Use the weekend to look after yourself. I'm glad you're able to look ahead despite your obvious heartache. I hope it all works out. I have my fingers crossed tightly for your next FET.

@TerrazzoChips I'm with CREATE and I was also started on a very low dose because of my high AMH. I had 30 follicles show on my earlier scan but because my stims were so low it took a while to get them going. My dose was finally increased substantially on CD7 and today is now day 10 of stims and I finally have follicles over 10mm (seven from 12mm to 19mm). I'll now stim a total of 12 days and then trigger on Monday (CD14) with EC on Wednesday (CD16). Silver lining is that I may not overstimulate and can do a fresh transfer but it's still annoying. Will you push for a higher dose?

SarahC1985 · 25/04/2022 00:14

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I've been TTC for almost 5 years now for baby number 3. I have unexplained infertility. I am on the short cycle of IVF and has EC on Friday. They got 14 eggs, 10 of which fertilised. I think my problem has always been implantation so I'm dreading the next bit. Transfer will be on Wednesday. I'm currently off work as I have quite a stressful job and don't want to ruin my chances. It would be nice to get to know you guys and share our journeys together xx
