Hey everyone.
So I’m just getting ready to start my second round of ICSI after suffering a MMC last Aug.
I have 2 more weeks of Norethisterone before I await the important bleed and then start my injections, yippee!

I was so chilled when I received my protocol and now I’m getting a little nervous as I know what’s to come. Unfortunately none of the embryos from our last round were high enough quality to freeze so we are starting from scratch. I’m preying for higher quality this time but I guess that’s out of our hands.

I wanted to start a thread as I know how helpful it was on my first round and it’s nice to know your not alone in what can seem like a very isolating process ❤️

@Sxd515 I think we are twinning on our treatment plan, I have my trigger Saturday and EC early Monday. I’m not expecting high numbers either being 35, but as long as there is something I will be happy 😁
Glad to hear you’re getting on better with Cetrotide, I can not wait for those to be over now!

@Girlwholifts definitely twinning...also 35!! I'm really hoping they confirm tomorrow for me that we will trigger Saturday. Agree with you completely!

@TerrazzoChips I spoke too soon about my recovery! They must have given me powerful painkillers because ouch! Haha but it's not too bad. Hopefully your EC has gone well and you're not in too much discomfort.

@Girlwholifts With those numbers, you'll defo get at least 5 mature eggs. Whilst you're having your EC on Monday, I'll be having my ET so I'm looking forward to the next few weeks for us!

oh no I hope you feel better soon! I’m just back now - got 12 eggs so hopefully I get a couple of good blasts out of that…

@TerrazzoChips Check you out with your 12 eggs! That's amazing! How often you will be updated? They'll defo call you tomorrow to let you know how many fertilised, will you have a day 3 update as well? How are you feeling after sedation? I found it to be such an interesting experience 😂

So all booked in for egg collection Wednesday. I reckon it would have been Monday but they are closed for bank holiday and I think they only do collections on certain days. On the scan she put down sizes of 15 follicles smallest one at 11.5 so I'm not expecting much on collection considering I got 12 last time I swear I had more at this point.

@TerrazzoChips 12 is good! That's what I got on my last fresh and got 6 embryo's! Hopefully you get a nice phone call tomorrrow!

@unCliche interesting about covers it! I feel ok now - I was really quite sore beforehand so it’s nice to be a bit less swollen! How are you feeling now?

I should get a call tomorrow to say how many have fertilised but then it depends if they want to do a 3 or 5 day transfer. I would prefer a 5 day transfer but it seems a delicate balance so I’ll go with whatever the experts recommend.

@Alexm06 a lot can change between now and Wednesday! I know we are all different but my follicles really grew and matured over the last few days. I reckon 11.5 is really good at this stage!

Hi Everyone, love reading your stories and hope you dont mind me jumping on the thread. I'm a first timer too, 35 like some of you. I'm CD 9 today and seems my body is a little more complicated. TTC since 2018 with failed IUI with donor sperm (private) GP referred me on due to other symptoms- after covid delays and laproscopy cancellation I finally got a diagnosis of Moderate Endo in 2021 so was put straight for nhs funded IVF. Seems I've come across another hurdle, only 2 follicles today at my scan and may need to cancel my first try :-( such a shame, although they have said I could try IUI this cycle so it doesnt seem a waste...as my tubes seem to be ok but is there any point? They want me back in tomorrow but I dont know if much is going to change. Anyone else been in this situation? Much Love xx

@Hopefulthistime35 don’t give up, everyone is different and your body might just need a bit more time. And remember we all only need one!

I had a call from the embryologist this morning, of my 12 eggs 8 have fertilised so I’ll be having a day 5 transfer. Got all my fingers and toes crossed for my little embryos. Hopefully one of them will make it (I daren’t hope for a few frozen ones too!)

That is fabulous news @TerrazzoChips I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you too!!! That is quite a result... how exciting for you! When is your ET scheduled for? I had my 2nd scan this morning with quite possibly the most loveliest of nurses I've ever met. Unfortunately she can only find the one dominant follicle today whereas there was apparently two yesterday but it may have merged together to form the one 18mm I have now. It was rather cute actually as she noticed one of my smaller antrals was shaped like a heart which she kindly printed off for me- it sure did make me smile. Looks like were going ahead with converted IUI. I have to call the results line in 20 minutes following their MDT and it's likely I'll be triggering tonight with IUI monday. For me it feels less of a waste of a cycle by having a little go, no harm trying I guess! Let's see what happens :-)

I've been having the worst week. After being diagnosed with OHSS, I ended up in hospital again with a suspected clot. Turns out the fluid in my abdomen is pushing on my lungs causing chest pain. The consultant rang on Thursday and said next cycle will be 3-6 months. I just want all of this to be over. I'm so sick of my life revolving around TTC and IVF. I just want a baby. Why is it so bloody hard?? Sorry for ranting. I just need to vent.

Where is everyone else in their cycles?

@Hopefulthistime35 don't lose hope. It's all a balancing act with IVF as most of us have seen first hand. They will change and titrate your meds to help stimulate you in a different way. They just have to play around with the meds and figure out what works for you.

@SarahC1985 oh wow yeah it sounds like you have had a tough week! It really does suck doesn't it. I wish it was a guarantee it was going to work. Especially with the amount of money most of us put into it!. Why 3-6 months? Because of the OHSS? I thought you would just be able to transfer on your next cycle. I've never had it though so I could be wrong x

Just got home from EC and they got 10 eggs 😁 We are over the moon!
Im a little more sore than last time but just going to chill for the rest of the day.

@TerrazzoChips Huge congrats on the 12 eggs! Have you heard how they’ve got on yet?

@Alexm06 your numbers sound really positive and as you know a lot can change between your last scan and EC!

@Girlwholifts that's brilliant! So glad it went ok for you and rest up today.
We got 8 which was more than I expected so I'm really happy. We are just on the way home and I can't wait for PJs and my sofa to be honest! This was my first EC and I don't remember anything but I am now so tired!!

I had a call this morning, of the 12 eggs 8 initially fertilised. Today is day 3 and I have 3 grade 1 embryos, 3 grade 2s and 2 grade 3s. I’ll have a g1 put back in on day 5 and freeze the rest, and see how the 2 grade 3s get on…

After feeling quite sad and worried for a while I feel a bit more positive now. Fingers crossed I get one!

@Hopefulthistime35 Sorry to hear that things haven't progressed how you've hoped but an IUI is a valid enough approach that has yielded good results for some women. How did it go today? We you able to go ahead with it?

@SarahC1985 Oh babe, you're really having a tough time, I'm so sorry 😔What are the next steps in sorting out the fluid? Will they need to drain it? When you say next cycle, do you mean another retrieval or a FET? Either way, my heart goes out to you. Infertility is hard enough when you've been trying for years but when you can't even move forward with a procedure, that's even more heartbreaking. Please stay strong, you'll get there! I know it doesn't feel like it, but everything they're doing is to get the best outcome for you. We're here for you lovely!

@Sxd515 Congrats to you too! The painkillers they gave me deceived me into thinking I was fine but it did take me a few days to feel 100% back to normal so rest up and enjoy doing nothing for a few days 😄

@ty1982 All the best with your two embryos! I had one put back today and my OTD is on the 11th, when's yours?

Amazing news for the girls with EC today! Such great results! Rest up and drink plenty and look after yourselves.

@unCliche thank you so much. Your words are so kind. Embryos are frozen so will just be transfer next time. They've given me the time line of 3-6 months so I just have to put it on the back burner again. Fluid is going away on its own thankfully so I don't need to do anything but rest

@unCliche are you having IUI? What's next for you? Good luck!!

@SarahC1985 Rest is good 😄 will you be taking time off work? I had my embryo transfer today so it's just a waiting game now.

Hey Everyone,

We were lucky enough to have been given the option of IUI as a conversion which I suppose gives us an extra little shot and doesnt affect the funding for IVF. I had the IUI today so now I'm in the 2WW! Keeping everything crossed for this one. Medical follow up for medication changes/increases after if this was unsuccessful but I'm feeling good about it!! 🤞

@SarahC1985 so so sorry you are going through this. Take it one day at a time. Rest is good and gives your body a chance to recover to be more receptive of your little frosties. Thinking of you and hope you can take the time to heal and look after yourself ♥️

@unCliche @ty1982 looks like were going into the 2WW together! I have everything crossed for us!! @ty1982 I find it hard too but I've made a conscious decision not to focus too much on it this time and distract myself as much as possible. I'm back to work on the 10th so that will be a welcome distraction.

@Girlwholifts and @Sxd515Glad the EC went well for you both! There were quite a few women in my clinic today for EC, the nurses were rushed off their feet but they do such a fabulous job dont they. Wishing you good news in the next few days.

Hi all. Can I join you? I'm on my third attempt at IVF (this time with ICSI). First was unsuccessful, the second was cancelled as I got Covid a couple of days before egg collection so hopefully this is third time lucky!

I'm on long protocol so have done down-regging and have been on Gonal F for a couple of weeks. We're hoping to have egg collection on Friday or Saturday.

I'm feeling a bit anxious about collection as last time round, they didn't give me enough fentanyl and I felt absolutely everything so it was excruciating. They gave me more eventually but it was a bit late really. This time, they've told me they'll start me with more fentanyl so hopefully it won't be quite as bad!
