Hey everyone.
So I’m just getting ready to start my second round of ICSI after suffering a MMC last Aug.
I have 2 more weeks of Norethisterone before I await the important bleed and then start my injections, yippee!

I was so chilled when I received my protocol and now I’m getting a little nervous as I know what’s to come. Unfortunately none of the embryos from our last round were high enough quality to freeze so we are starting from scratch. I’m preying for higher quality this time but I guess that’s out of our hands.

I wanted to start a thread as I know how helpful it was on my first round and it’s nice to know your not alone in what can seem like a very isolating process ❤️

@unCliche good luck, 30 follicles is amazing! And 7 from 12-19mm should give you good odds of a blast! I’m having another 2 days on Bemfola 150 and hopefully that’ll get me to the magic 17mm. I currently have 12 between 10-15mm and I’m definitely feeling a bit swollen and sore! I think some of us just have slow growers! Good luck with everything!

Hi all. I hope you don't mind me joining this thread? IVF feels a very lonely world but this makes it less so.
I hope everyone's week has got off to a good start.

Husband and I have been TTC for three years. We are currently undergoing our first round of IVF with ICSI. I have low AMH for my age (just turned 35). We started Bemfola injections last Tuesday. I had my first scan on Friday which was disappointing but they increased my medication and todays scan was much more positive.

I don't have overly high numbers of follicles so seeing high numbers freaks me out about. Is anyone else in the same boat?

@SarahC1985 Awesome numbers! The worst bit about unexplained infertility is not knowing exactly where things are going wrong. But sounds like you've crossed at least one hurdle and you have embryos so that's something! Good luck with your transfer! I'm sure your clinic will do everything they can to optimise implantation. Will you be on progesterone?

@TerrazzoChips Ooo you're almost at the end! I had my last Gonal-F yesterday and tonight I trigger! I have seven over 17mm! And a total of 12 over 10mm! So worst case, I'll get 7 eggs and best case maybe double that! It's not 30 follicles but it's defo better than nothing and I'm glad I haven't overstimulated despite the potential to, so a fresh transfer is possible! You have awesome numbers and with an additional two days of stims, you'll definitely get those follicles where they need to be and maybe even more will cross the 10mm threshold! I think slow and steady is best, that way the risk of OHSS is lessened. Good luck with your last few days of stims!

Hi @Sxd515, glad they increased your dose. I was definitely concerned at my first two scans as all the growth I had was marginal but things really picked up with my increased dose so the clinic will defo do right by you! I wouldn't worry about not having so many follicles, the meds will nurture the ones you do have and hopefully you'll get good quality eggs and in turn good quality embryos. Will your next scan be on Wednesday?

@unCliche thanks for the reply. That's reassuring to read. It's such a minefield and I'm a terrible Googler haha. Yes my next scan is on Wednesday. My clinic has just called to tell me to start Cetrotide tomorrow morning.

@Sxd515 at my first two scans, I had barely any follicles until they increased my benfola. It's very common. They put you on an initial dose and keep checking to see how you react so don't panic

@unCliche thank you so much. I was positive for about a day but the implantation is what's worrying me. I'm trying to just take it a day at a time. I'm on progesterone pessaries twice a day so hopefully that'll help! I heard today that all 10 embryos are progressing and are good quality so that's good news. Where are you in your cycle?

Thanks so much. Although it’s my 8th and last attempt … I’ve had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, and a Chemical but I did have my rainbow baby who is now 22 months so know how lucky I am!!

I am waiting to her from clinic but hopefully transfer next week x

Welcome to all the ladies who have recently joined. It feels like many of us could potentially be at roughly the same stages now.

I had my first tracking scan yesterday. Lining is nice and thick and I have 14 follicles. Surprisingly I have 7 at the perfect size for the date so fingers crossed all is going in the right direction. Had my first Cetrotide yesterday after my scan and forgot what a stingy little bugger that was.

@Sxd515 Dont let numbers worry you. I have 2 friends who have both done IVF, 1 got 16 eggs and is still TTC after 3 BFN the other had only 3, she now has a little girl of 11months and is currently 9weeks pregnant with her 2nd. We all have such different bodies its non comparable Your body will do the best it can!

@Alexm06 My Pergoveris pen isn't too bad but the Cetrotide is a bugger! I have my EC estimated for BH Monday but will find out for sure on my next tracking scan Thursday. Have you had any news on yours yet?

@Girlwholifts oh that's good! I'm not getting on with my needles this time haha: I wish I had a pen! Ohh I don't have anything estimated yet had a scan yesterday said my right ovary is responding very well and my left is good just not as good as the right haha. But yeah started fyremedal yesterday and have another scan Wednesday. I asked when roughly it would be and she said she would be able to tell me more on Friday as I assume I'm having a scan then too. I doubt they will be open Monday as they tend to close but we will see.

I have been in a few threads so thought I would join the most recent one, I am currently in the middle of my 2nd FET. Had a scan yesterday to check my lining, I was 6.6mm so they wanted me to continue and have another scan on Thursday! And hopefully start progesterone and have transfer next week with my last frozen embryo from this round of IVF :)
Anyone else about to transfer ?

I just had an appointment and they won't go ahead with ET tomorrow since I have mild OHSS. I'm absolutely devastated. I feel like everything is one step forward and two steps back and that my goal is completely unreachable

@Girlwholifts thank you for the reassuring message. I started my Certrotide today for the first time. Wow that stung after! Great news about your positive first scan.

@SarahC1985 With each step I worry something will go wrong, so I completely get it! First concern was if I was even born with eggs in my ovaries but today they collected 11 😂 next concern will be if they can even fertilise! Sorry to hear your ET will be postponed but I'm sure it's for the best. You want your body to be at its most healthiest for you and your embryo. I was also prepared to have a freeze-all cycle and was keen on having it if I got a lot of eggs collected as I know it would be better for my body. This isn't a setback, just a little pause, and you can continue where you left off in a few weeks, it'll all be fine!

@Girlwholifts sounds like things are progressing well! Cetrotide is the worst but I found as the days went on, it became more and more bearable, I guess it's just about getting used to it again. How long do you think you'll be stimming for? Do you think the stim length will be comparable to your last ICSI cycle?

@IVFGotThis05 Heya! I just had my collection today and will be transferring on Monday hopefully! So we'll be in our TWW together. So exciting 😁 My lining was at 10.4mm at my last scan and I know that science doesn't back this up but I've been drinking pomegranate juice. It probably didn't help but it's a good antioxidant and will be good for your body in general.

@unCliche thank you. I know I need to look at the positives but every step of this journey is so scary and you're always waiting to be told the worst. Good luck for Monday for you!xo

Does anyone know when you can have sex after EC since my transfer was cancelled?

Hi ladies. Im 2dp5dt and i just realised i insert cyclogest rectally and then go to the loo an hour later. Its about as much as i can hold it, despite me going earlier to empty myself. Sorry for the tmi, just worried im not absorbing the progesterone as much as i should be.

@Alexm06 Yeh I’m feeling the same to about the needles! I swear last time they didn’t hurt this much but I’m really struggling this time round. Got some
little bruises this time which I never had before. My poor husband feels so guilty after as he can see I’m struggling. Nearly over now thankfully! I’m currently sat waiting for my tracking scan 🤞🏼 I will find out when EC will be!

@SarahC1985 So sorry to hear you have mild OHSS, what a bugger! Any idea how long you have to wait for ET? In terms of sex my clinic told me 5-7 days depending on how I felt down there.

@Sxd515 The Cetrotide is really not nice but thankfully they don’t last long 😁 You feeling a little more positive now?

@unCliche So this round is the exact same amount of time in terms of the days I inject but my dose is higher this time. At my last tracking scan they were happy with how it was going but they will let me know this morning if I need to make any changes and when EC/trigger will be. Im
keeping everything crossed that all is still well 😬

How is everyone getting on? I have my egg collection tomorrow 😬and am trying to be positive about it. I’m definitely feeling swollen and tender though. Does anyone know how soon those feelings might go away?

@Girlwholifts yeah I have some bruises too! I don't know why it's worse this time haha. I have another scan tomorrow where they said they will be able to tell me when egg collection will be but thinks it will be Wednesday. I had a scan yesterday and had a couple between 12-16. How did your scan go today?

@TerrazzoChips Good luck with your EC tomorrow! I never really felt much discomfort throughout stims and today I feel pretty much pain-free and recovered from yesterday's EC.

@Girlwholifts Have you found out when you'll trigger?

Out of my 11 eggs, 6 were mature and all 6 fertilised successfully with ICSI. I hope they can all continue growing.

@Alexm06 Very odd isnt it, last time seems like a breeze but maybe that's just my imagination haha! My scan was very positive thank you. I currently have 1 at 19, 3 at 17.5, 2 at 16 and and 5 between 12-15. If we get 5 mature out of those I will be very happy

@unCliche that's great news! You must be so pleased! If we have result anywhere near that I will be super chuffed. Our aim this round is to have at least one make the freezer after our fresh cycle, if all goes to plan that is. I have my trigger Sat night When do they think you'll have ET?

@SUMMERTIME02 I'm sure I read something similar to this a while back and someone said as long as you lay down for half hr after insertion you should be fine. If in doubt I would wait until after I've been to the loo or contact your clinic and say your not getting on with them and see if they can offer an alternative. Good luck

@Girlwholifts getting on better with the Cetrotide now phew! Got another treatment scan tomorrow with provisionally trigger on Saturday and EC Monday. I think realistically I'm not going to have super high numbers but that's ok. Glad to read your scan was positive. Do you know when your EC is going to be?
