Anyone out there currently going through IVF, start my stims in a couple of days. Had my down reg scan today and I have 4 follicles on my left and 5 on my right, wasn't sure if this was good or not, I've just turned 40 as this is my first cycle.

Unexplained infertility, many thanks ☺️

Been for day 7 scan got a slow growth they said one at 11 and rest 8 or so I'm worrying that this isn't looking good xx

@Pinklady81how long have you been doing stims for? Have they asked you to continue and go back in a few days?

I'm on max Gonal stims for 10 days before I get a scan so I guess you've still got a few days for them to cont growing?

@Colourfulliving 5 days so far .... no the doctor reviewed bloods and scan and said to continue at the minute on my dose of 225 gonal f how about you?

@Pinklady81 Oh well I have read about people taking stims for up to 14 days so please try not to worry yet as there is still plenty of time for them to continue growing.

I've just turned 40 so I'm on the max dose of 300 Gonal, 8 days in and scan is Monday.

For your retrieval as you opting to be put to sleep or just having gas and air ?

@Colourfulliving I'm 40 too and on a mild ivf package the leaflet I have been given says sedation I am being scanned every 2 days at the minute but that's what my clinic does anyway

@Pinklady81 5 days is still very early. I had a scan at 5 days, I can't remember the size of my follicles but they weren't big. By 8 days many of them had grown big enough to trigger.

@Emmyanddreams thank you is that your cycle day 5 or 5 days of stims? I'm just worried as first cycle, age etc frantically googling and it's a minefield thank you for your reassurance

@Pinklady81 I started stimming on cycle day 2, so it was cycle day 6 but day 5 of stims xx

Yes same for my my scan this morning though I hadn't done my injections so only had 5 days of stims done

So I've had an update - 6 out of the 7 eggs have fertilised and formed into embryos. Only on day two so a lot can still happen but apparently so far they are looking like good quality embryos.
I won't get another update until Tuesday now which will be day 5. They will call me in the morning and hopefully all being well I will be going in for the transfer in the afternoon 🤞🤞🤞

@Emmyanddreams Ah, fab news for you! Fingers crossed they continue to develop and grow! :)

We had our embryo transfer today. It was graded at 5AA - to be honest all of that stuff goes well over my head but it all sounded positive. The transfer itself went absolutely fine and I’m now back at work! Out of the 7 fertilised we had 5 make it to embryo, today there was another suitable for freezing and they are monitoring two more until tomorrow so I’ll have an update about those then!

Hoping for a stress free week or 2 ahead. When is test date?

@LT103 My clinic has advised to test on the 25th and a second test on the 27th! I don’t think I will test any earlier as I don’t want to be disappointed!

Hoping work will keep me busy enough during the next two weeks which I am sure it will! :)

@Elle147 wow congratulations that's positive news I'm on my 8th day of stims another scan showing 2 are growing well one 15mm and another not far behind test may or may not catch up I'm on a mild ivf cycle and said potential maybe 1-2 eggs does this sound right?

@Pinklady81 Hey! I’m unsure hun as this is my first round of IVF so it’s all very new to me and unsure what is ‘normal’ and what isn’t.

Is it your first round too? I think your first round is a bit of trial and error which sounds awful but I guess they don’t know how your body will respond the first time round! I’ve seen a lot of people say ‘quality over quantity’ too which I can imagine is true!

When’s your next scan? I’ll keep my fingers crossed that those follicles keep growing for you! xx

@Pinklady81 I'm not sure sorry, first round for us too. But I've also heard it's quality over quantity.

@Elle147 I like to think I wouldn't test early but I know I probably will...if I get to that stage anyway, it all rides on tomorrow.

@Elle147 yeah I wouldn’t test early either.

@Pinklady81 I’m on a mild cycle too as my amh was really high and they were worried I’d get ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome so I don’t know if that means I’ll get lots of eggs or few with the cycle. I’ll find out next week haha.

My follicle count was 29 when I had my ovarian assessment but don’t think they wanted that number to mature

@LT103 I'm the opposite follicle count not great I've 12 follicles showing but potentially 2 growing well

@Pinklady81 just remember it only takes that one!!!! Definitely quality over quantity!

@LT103 that's what they keep telling me but I'm googling things and all these people with amazing follicle counts ...
