IVF September/October 2021 cycle

I am just starting a new thread in case anyone else is falling into the September/October timings...I have been in other threads which have been so so supportive and a bit of a godsend really, but I'm a bit behind where everyone is up to.

I had a failed cycle in June unfortunately and didn't respond as they expected. Then was supposed to start again in august but unfortunately they saw a cyst on one of my ovaries so have delayed the next cycle to September (I think my stims will fall into October as they'll put me on norithisterone).

@pkp11 thank you. Yes this is a new cycle but it's my second cycle so today was my first scan since injections that I started on Friday. It's to stop me ovulating. I had to do it last time too.

@Reefy hope injection goes well this evening! I didn't use that injection so I'm guessing I was given an alternative
Got my appt with consultant in 2 weeks.

@pkp11 I struggled to get them both in tonight for some reason 😂😂. Yes I guess everyone has different ones to suit them. Glad you have the appointment booked in. It will soon fly round & be here.

@Reefy great news with the scan 😊 not long until your next one too. I always found that OH struggled to get the fyremadel needle in, must be a bigger one and when you grab your fat it just seems to poke at it and not break the skin!! Do you find that one stings a bit too?

@pkp11 all good, just almost trying to forget I have a little embryo in me. I actually forgot my pessary this evening as well until an hour later! Not sure how as they are messy things and one of the downsides to all this! 🤦🏾‍♀️ Not too long until your appointment now!

@Coops0406 oh my OH stays in a different room as is a woosy & doesn't like needles 😂 I tried to get him to just push the top of the trigger pen last time he was like no no 😂😂. I've found the menopur has stung this time too. Yes I always struggle with the fyremedal but I put it down to me having a lot of scar tissue so wasn't sure if it was that but maybe not.

@Reefy 🤣🤣🤣 he sounds like me! I can't even pull a plaster off myself! When is your EC provisionally booked for?

@Coops0406 😂 it's for either next Wednesday or Friday. You said about trying to remember Meds, I'm quite lucky with remembering as I have a app with all my medication & appointments & it reminds me 15 mins before Meds & 24 hours & 1 hour before appointments. Also can message the clinic on it rather then having to call up.

@Coops0406 @Reefy yep hoping time will fly by! Been watching videos and researching what we could do next to help us.

@pkp11 I was like they but in the end I stopped as I thought let them advise what's next. I've been good so far & not looked up anything ivf this time & im hoping I can continue not too, Google is not my friend 🤣.
Yep just done them both! Really seem to be stinging more each night for some reason! I don't remember that last time!

@Reefy that's good...so it's an app from your fertility centre? I found the same with the injections seeming a bit more stingy than last time!
@pkp11 I think I gave up looking up what I could do to help...but that has swapped to Googling what I should be expecting to feel at every step of the way! Honestly, the internet becomes so addictive!

@Coops0406 yes it's called Salve. I don't know if it's something all clinics have? Oh glad it's not just me then! Yep it is addictive! I really don't wanna be like that this time. My OH kept telling me off for it last time 🤣

@Reefy when I started my cycle I didn't look online at all, but I want to be prepared with questions for the consultant and also want to know what is out there.
@Coops0406 defo very addictive, I've started watching YouTube videos from clinics around the world!

@pkp11 well done you did well not to look online at all last time. Yes definitely a good idea with a bit of research to make sure you have asked all you wanna ask & also to see if you think there would be anything else to help you that you could mention too.

Scan all looking good there are 13 follicles that are between 11-16mm & a few smaller ones of 8mm or so. Next scan Monday so hope some of the smaller ones catch up.

@Reefy thats brilliant news with your scan. Fingers crossed the smaller ones grow to optimal size too.
Now that I understand where our unexplained infertility is ie. At implementation stage it's a bit easier to look at what others have experienced and ask our consultant if any of those things can be tested to help for next time with a frozen ET

@pkp11 yes I hope they do catch up! I think it's that thing isn't it but knowing why it didn't work as they said they can't say for sure. I did only manage a day 3 transfer so I don't know if that makes a difference! So many unanswered questions!

@Reefy great scan!! I'm sure some of the smaller ones will catch up...looks very promising! 🥰

Just wondering I don't have enough menopur in my vial for tonight but I have a whole new pack, do you think I can take out what's left & mix with the fresh one or would you do just the fresh one? I guess it's no good after 28 days anyway so not saving anything so maybe all fresh would be best?

@Reefy I would go for a new one, is it a Pre-mixed thing? Then at your next scan if you need more they'll have some

@Coops0406 I have to mix it tonight. I have enough as the other one has done 7 days worth with a little left & should be triggering Monday or Wednesday so Il have plenty!

@Reefy I used ovaleap and I had to mix between old and new vial as my dosage was so high I only would get 2.5 days out of them. Hope injection went well!

@Coops0406 how are you doing? Have you taken time off during this 2ww?

@pkp11 I was on ovaleap too, 450! So easy to use though!
I'm doing okay, trying not to think about it too much. But I have noticed that since stims I've had really sore boobs and they have suddenly disappeared overnight! So I'm not too sure whether that means anything or not...I have zero symptoms and that was the only thing that could've been a symptom!
I'm working but on Wednesday I'll be WFH so we've decided to test then and give me a day to deal with whatever it says rather than having to rush into work. I feel like I don't want to test in case it bursts this little bubble of being PUPO!

Had cramps this morning and bleeding 😩 not sure if AF is here or if this is a bad sign!!

@Coops0406 it's hard not to think about symptoms at this time, I know I was over thinking every bit of how I was feeling but the best thing is to keep your mind busy elsewhere, so working is good.
Bleeding and cramps are fine! Stay positive! Imagine how much our bodies have been through and the stimulation drugs, so it's our bodies readjusting themselves and hopefully preparing us for good news!
