Hi

I am just starting a new thread in case anyone else is falling into the September/October timings...I have been in other threads which have been so so supportive and a bit of a godsend really, but I'm a bit behind where everyone is up to.

I had a failed cycle in June unfortunately and didn't respond as they expected. Then was supposed to start again in august but unfortunately they saw a cyst on one of my ovaries so have delayed the next cycle to September (I think my stims will fall into October as they'll put me on norithisterone).

Be great to chat to others who are about to start soon 😊

@Coops0406 my first cycle which as last August I had to self isolate until egg transfer my second one they didn't say anything to me about isolating but I did and then yeah said nothing with my frozen transfer so I didn't nor will I for this frozen one either. I know some make you do covid tests before but yeah mine doesn't seem to care anymore haha

Reefy · 07/09/2021 14:52

@Coops0406 mine asked me to send in Covid test results before I was allowed in then they didn't ask but I was testing everyday with the lateral flows & taking it in my bag incase they asked for it. They did say they needed us to send in results the day before EC. So when we go again we will do the same test everyday & only go to work & isolate ourselves away again. Seems each clinic is different.

Hi Guys hope you don't mind me joining just been reading all your stories and you all seem to has alot of experience in the IVF field good luck to everyone 😘.
I needed a bit of advice maybe starting IVF soon and just wondering what everyone does about their jobs during cycles I work on an ambulance 12 hour shifts days and nights it's demanding and stressfull and I do love it but just wondering can I continue if I start IVF, I'm worried I won't be able to do the injections get stuck on a job and miss them or don't know how they will effect me and would it be to much? At the moment when I'm in work I don't feel like my head is in the game due to thinking about fertility all the time! So do I do light duties? Stay off all together? What's your experiences with juggling work and IVF? Thanks xx

Coops0406 · 07/09/2021 17:28

@Alexm06 @Reefy I think I'll just lateral flow and be careful, unless they say otherwise.

Hi @Luluspies I hope you are well. Luckily last time, which was June, I was told to isolate so I worked from home and definitely felt that was the best option for me. My hubby also isolated so we just pottered about together. During my injections is when we got the crap news in the first scan that we had barely any follicles and I couldn't have faced being at work, let alone actually doing any! And your job sounds so hard! But it is also good to keep busy and have things take your mind off it. I guess you probably need to do whatever keeps you the least stressed, it's such an emotional rollercoaster!

@Coops0406. Thank you, I definitely agree keeping busy would be good for me I don't like the idea of doing nothing as I like a routine for my mind to keep busy but asking for light duties would probably mean being completely transparent with work and I'm quite a private person and then obviously everyone would asking what you doing on light duties? Haha I know I'm probably over thinking and maybe transparency would be healthy x

So had my review yesterday & now got to wait till end of this month for a nurse consultation but looks like hopefully we will be starting near the end of October!

Coops0406 · 09/09/2021 20:09

@Luluspies I think it's hard as you want to carry on as normal but then it's a huge thing we're going through with hormones flying around...whatever you decide just look after yourself.

@Reefy how did the review go? Great news about starting in October 😊

The nurse rang to confirm I'll be starting norithisterone on 18th September then stims on 10th October with provisional EC on 20th October! I'm just wishing time away now to get there!

@Coops0406 yes all good. He said they can't say why it didn't work could of been as it was a 3 day transfer. Next time they want my growth to be slow so changing Meds so just menopur but double the dose. He said I have a positive mental attitude & I'm a nice patient to treat so that was nice to hear. I asked about vitamins he recommended some as apparently they help embryo quality so I've just ordered some 🤞. It's good you have the dates now & it will soon come round!

Luluspies · 09/09/2021 22:15

@coops0406 Cheers good luck to you, hope I have a good positive mental attitude like you if I do start on the IVF train ☺️

Coops0406 · 10/09/2021 17:25

@Reefy it's nice when you can have a good relationship with your consultant...I'm so glad I changed! What dose will they increase you to? Has he recommended ubiquinol? My consultant also said it was a good idea to take probiotics 👍🏾 so I've been having an actimel every day!

@Luluspies let us know if you do start, lots of support here 😊

OP posts:
Reefy · 10/09/2021 18:11

@Coops0406 yes he is lovely! All the staff have been. He said 150ml rather then 75ml last time. The vitamins are from fertility smart & they are called conceive for women (pink top). Oh ok I've not heard that one but I always have an actimel a day for around the last 6/7 years so let's hope that's good 😂.

Coops0406 · 11/09/2021 08:49

@Reefy fab I'll have a nosey!
He just said something about the good bacteria is good for the uterine lining so I thought an actimel a day is an easy thing to incorporate 👍🏾

Hi everyone! I hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm very new to this and IVf
I hope someone can help me with a few questions.
I have my first nurses appointment on Friday and I am so nervous idk what to expect. Are they going to weigh me? I am few lbs over my recommended weight but my BMI is still under 30 I hope I don't get turned away!
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do/take before this appointment as at my last appointment they were very vague didnt explain much on what will happen ☹

Reefy · 13/09/2021 14:02

@JK95 so my nurses appointment was on Zoom so they couldn't weigh me but they did weigh me at the clinic when I had my very first scan. So yes I believe they say BMI is under 30 as I had to lose weight to be referred to them. Mine was just going through medication & the whole process of what will happen with EC & ET. Just jot down any questions you can think of to ask. Good luck 🤞

JK95 · 13/09/2021 14:22

@Reefy Thank you for the reply

Coops0406 · 23/09/2021 16:47

Hi everyone, just checking in. Hope you're all okay. I'm on day 6 out of 17 for my norithisterone, last time I bloated massively but I think only slight bloating this time so fingers crossed it stays like that!

Is anyone near to starting with their meds yet?

OP posts:
Reefy · 23/09/2021 17:43

@Coops0406 have you been put on them for longer this time? I was on them 10 days last time. No not yet I have my zoom nurse consultation on Tuesday so hopefully will get some date then!

Coops0406 · 23/09/2021 18:19

@Reefy I was on them for 21 days last time 🤦🏾‍♀️ and put on 3kg! I was hoping it would only be 10 days but they needed to time everything based on the embryologists being in to do the genetic testing of blastocysts...so 17 days it is!

Excellent! Let me know how it goes and when you can start! Will you be on norithisterone again?

OP posts:
Reefy · 23/09/2021 18:27

@Coops0406 oh wow that's a long time! I'm not sure yet the doc never said any of that just said about having 1 injection so I hope I have more answers on Tuesday. I'm currently enjoying a few gins while I can 😂

Coops0406 · 23/09/2021 22:27

@Reefy I don't blame you! I would be doing the same! Although I've got into these non-alcoholic gins recently...and erdinger zero alcohol beer, it says it's isotonic and has vitamins in...winner! 🤣 enjoy your gin & tonics 😍

Reefy · 07/10/2021 08:22

@Coops0406 how are you getting on?

Coops0406 · 07/10/2021 12:54

@Reefy how are you doing? I finished the norithisterone on Monday and just waiting for AF to come so we can start injections on Sunday 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾 feeling excited but last time AF had made it's appearance around now but no signs whatsoever! 😩
How are you? Where are you up to now?

OP posts:
Reefy · 07/10/2021 14:56

Bloody AF! I start norithisterone on Saturday but only for 8 days this time 🤷🏼‍♀️ got all my scans booked & injections start on 22nd all being well with EC either 3rd or 5th November so not long now!

Hope everyone else is getting on ok 👌🏻

Coops0406 · 07/10/2021 17:31

@Reefy so lucky you've only got 8 days on it!! Exciting!!! Not too long then! 😃

OP posts:
Reefy · 07/10/2021 18:45

Yep! Well good luck with the injections & the whole process! 🤞🤞🤞
