IVF September/October 2021 cycle

I am just starting a new thread in case anyone else is falling into the September/October timings...I have been in other threads which have been so so supportive and a bit of a godsend really, but I'm a bit behind where everyone is up to.

I had a failed cycle in June unfortunately and didn't respond as they expected. Then was supposed to start again in august but unfortunately they saw a cyst on one of my ovaries so have delayed the next cycle to September (I think my stims will fall into October as they'll put me on norithisterone).

@Reefy thank you! AF arrived at half 4 this morning! The only time I have been pleased to be woken up in pain! 🤣 So it's all go for stims to start on Sunday 😍

My AF started Monday, I called the clinic to let them know but they told me that the treatment has to be delayed until next month 😪 as they are short in staff. Even then they can't guarantee I'll be called in 😫😭😭😭

@JK95 oh I'm sorry to hear that. It's so unfair on you. I'm quite lucky that my clinic have pre booked all my appointments & they even give me 2 dates for egg collection. I'm on tablets that I guess control my period so I guess they work out when that will be.

I was really upset when they told me but slowly accepting the fact that it will take a little longer.

@JK95 I'm so sorry, I would be gutted. Mine got delayed last time due to a cyst which you can understand but being short staffed is just pants! Where are you going for treatment? Are you on a paid cycle or nhs?
The way you'll have to try and look at it is another month to get yourself healthy and ready. And maybe an excuse to have a cheeky glass of vino tonight. Fingers crossed for you they start you next month 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

Yh im looking at it like another month to optimise my health 🙂

I started my injections today and am on ovaleap...the ovaleap pen is the easiest thing to use! And couldn't feel a thing! Hoping the next week goes quickly so we can get to Friday for out day 6 scan which will hopefully be better than last time 🤞🏾

Hi guys, had the day 6 scan this morning which was so much better than last time 😊 I'm still not sure what is normal or expected at this stage but I had 7 follicles between 10-12mm which should get to size by Monday (last time there were only 2). There are a few smaller ones and depending on where they're at on Monday they'll either continue as planned with EC on Wednesday or add 2 more days of stims.
Bizarrely 6 of those are on my left ovary where there is a new cyst! And only 1 on the right ovary. Such a minefield this ivf!
Now to have a relaxing weekend and wait to see what Monday brings 🥰

@Coops0406 oh I'm pleased you have more this time then last time! I have no idea either as I guess everyone is different so who knows what's normal 🤷🏼‍♀️😂😂.
That is strange on the ovary with a new cyst but as you say definitely a minefield! Enjoy your relaxing weekend!

Thanks so much @Reefy @JK95 we're so pleased. I know still a long way to go but the first hurdle is done and we can now not think about it for a couple of days 😊

We've had the day 9 scan and a bit deflated to be honest. Although the nurse seemed positive, there are only 5 follicles at the right size, which is only 1 more than last time! There are another 5 that are a couple of mm under which she says could get there but they don't want to push them with stims for a couple more days as they good ones may get overgrown! So I feel a bit in limbo land and concerned that double the dose hasn't really done much more. But we'll just have to wait until Wednesday to see what happens. Trigger tonight at 11.30pm...hoping I'll manage to stay up!!

@Coops0406 sorry to hear it wasn't what you were expecting. Have you done the same amount of days on stims? So did the only collect 4 last time & did they all fertilise? God I thought mine was bad enough at 10pm 😂.

@Reefy last time I had 4 follicles above the 16mm they want. There were 2 big ones at egg collection 20mm and 24mm, and we got 2 eggs. They both fertilised (one twice!) and 1 blast made it to day 5 and was put back in but think the eggs may have been over mature so wanted to do one less day on stims. So from 4 follicles we got 2 eggs, so now we are working off 5 follicles so I can't imagine much more than that this time really

@Coops0406 well hopefully this time the won't be over mature. I know it's easy to say but try not to think about it not being many at this moment. I've got everything crossed for you 🤞🤞😘

@Reefy thank you. I'm still hopeful, was just expecting to hear something different! Have been painting a room to try and take my mind off it! And stay awake 🤣

I'm not to sure what is happening with my cycle yet as had a baseline scan yesterday & they said they would expect my lining to be thicker then asked if I've ever been told I have cysts & how long I was taking Norethisterone which was 8 days this cycle & 10 last time which I did think to myself is it long enough but as they adjusted my Meds this time I guessed it was. She went to compare my scan to the last baseline scan & said it's not a lot of different but I'm now worried about it. I'm just waiting for AF to arrive which they estimate will be today or tomorrow then they called me & said if it comes they want to give scan me again Friday before I start stims Friday evening! Not feeling very positive about it all really.

@Reefy it's horrible when they say has anyone ever mentioned such a thing to you! It's so unsettling. Hopefully when AF arrives and they do the baseline scan then it will be more accurate for them. Have they actually said they've seen cysts? Fingers crossed AF arrives and the scan is okay on Friday 🤞🏾

We had egg collection this morning and no idea where they got them from but they collected 17 eggs! Completely in shock and overwhelmed! Feeling a little bit sore and tired but over the moon. Will find out tomorrow how many were mature and fertilised and am expecting quite a drop. But still so pleased with today's outcome 🥰
