@Ofpalestsilver ahhh i see. No that's not a stupid question. My acupuncturist actually told me I can't have massages after ovulation as certain pressure points can induce labour. She also tells me I shouldn't walk on cold floors without socks so i take pretty much everything she tells me with a pinch of salt. ha

MF1981 · 29/10/2020 12:42

@Jane1284 I googled reproflexology near me and found a directory of reproductive Reflexologists, typed in my town and just one option came up so I then contacted her directly

ShiMo · 29/10/2020 12:54

@Jane1284 our deposit is held in the scheme but I’ve learned that both the tenant and landlords have to agree to go through that process to get a resolution, but she’s already told my husband she doesn’t ‘like them’ and would go to court instead! Over a cobweb 🙈. She’s a horrible woman, instantly disliked her but we were desperate for a place to live at the time. Anyway, hope you’re doing well? I’m also curious about reflexology and stuff but not sure if it’s worth the money! I’ve spent £££ on supplements and all sorts already!

@ivfhope3 rant away! That’s why we are all here. I’ve not told anyone so this group is so helpful for rants/questions etc. I hope you start feeling better soon xx

Jane1284 · 29/10/2020 13:23

@MF1981thank you. I will have a look myself. Does your reflexologist specialise in fertility or is it more about relaxation?

@ShiMo wow she sounds like a horrible person! So unnecessary to be like that. Hopefully she stops being so awful and you can move on and forget her. I'm good thanks- i feel you on the supplements. I started seeing a naturopath 2 months ago when I got my low AMH results and was told to start IVF. She has me on so many supplements. Morning, lunch and evening! Not cheap but every little bit helps when you start this journey. That said, a lot of women have said their best responses to IVF were when they stopped being so rigid with diets and supplements and just went with the flow. It is hard to know the correct approach!

81Poppy · 29/10/2020 14:06

I did acupuncture for my FET as I had issues with thin lining I ate everything I should no alcohol etc... the lining on that cycle was the worse it had been. Next FET I was much more relaxed had the odd wine no acupuncture and just relaxed into it, the lining was much better on that cycle.
It's hard to say but I think putting too much pressure on yourself just makes the journey much harder.

This time round I'm trying not to get to emotional about it, just thinking it's a medical procedure and it will either work or it won't, I'll do some things to help (make me feel a bit more in control) limited caffeine, alcohol plenty of exercise etc, but not going to get too stressed about it (saying that now..... it might be different once I get started ☺️)

MF1981 · 29/10/2020 14:24

I think that’s the right approach @81Poppy. My reflexologist specialises in fertility reflexology or reproflexology as they call it. I’m mainly using it for relaxation and to feel like I’m doing something to help!

ivfhope3 · 29/10/2020 14:41

Well I don't think it is AF coming the bloody test they told me to start taking 2weeks after the procedure are still blood positive I actually give up xx I'm sorry I'm not being very positive for you guys I'm going to step back for a bit xx

OP posts:
Ofpalestsilver · 29/10/2020 15:30

@ivfhope3 - you defo don't have to be positive. this post is for people to express how they're feeling so honestly please don't feel you have to leave on our behalf. I do know what it's like feeling so defeated by everything and sometimes you need to walk away.

Do you mean that you're doing pregnancy tests and they're still showing as positive? Because of HCG in the blood?

ivfhope3 · 29/10/2020 15:45

@Ofpalestsilver I had Ivf in July was positive didn't make it got to 7 weeks had to wait for the heartbeat to stop, then go an have d@c in August. Then 10 weeks later still positive was going in every 2 weeks an they finally found something had another procedure 2 weeks ago. An still positive. It's driving. Me mad I can't move forward.
I know i started this thread with all high hopes now just feeling like absolute crap and don't want to put all the negative on to you guys an worrying you xxx

Oh @ivfhope3 I’m so sorry to hear this. We would absolutely love you to stick around but understand if you feel you need some time out. You’ve been through such a tough time my lovely. Sending lots of love x

81Poppy · 29/10/2020 16:09

@ivfhope3 this happened to me after a FET it's so frustrating, I was given a tablet (the one they use for abortions) to sort everything out.
It will go back to normal eventually, it's such a relief when it does.

Sometimes it's hard work trying to keep positive

Has anyone tried the Zita West meditation tracks? I found them quite useful (pre, post transfer and 2ww)

Jane1284 · 29/10/2020 16:24

@ivfhope3 I am so sorry you are going through this. I can only imagine how hard it must be. I really hope you get some positive news to help you stop feeling like you are in limbo. In the meantime we are all here for support and if you want to share with us please don't hold back.

@81Poppy you are so right with that approach of not stressing too much. I think as it is my first and only NHS cycle I want to do everything I can but I can see myself becoming a bit less strict in 2021. Been off the booze and caffeine for a while but the thought of a year with no wine makes me sad.
I haven't tried the Zita West meditations but they sound good. I currently use a brand called 'Circle & Bloom'. They have one each day of your cycle for 28 days (natural conception). Will be starting on their IVF meditations soon.

Rachae · 29/10/2020 21:01

So sad to read some of the messages catching up. Love to all tonight who are suffering from any anxiety, stress, frustration or sadness. We are strong and good things will come. Daffodil xx

BrandyM · 29/10/2020 22:35

I'm so sorry @ivfhope3. I do hope you stay on- remember we are all here for each other (good or bad). We are here to listen and hopefully provide a support system.

Not sure if the tablet @81Poppy mentioned is an option? Have they offered something similar to you?

Sending you lots of love my lovely xxx

Emmalouise11 · 30/10/2020 10:26

Hi all, hope everyone’s ok. Just had my scan and everything was fine so start injections on the 3rd and then have a scan a week after them, so hopefully everything goes fine.

Ofpalestsilver · 30/10/2020 11:27

That's great news @Emmalouise11! It's exciting when it starts.

I have to say yesterday I found it very difficult to concentrate on work. It was the day after my scan and I'd started medication. feeling a bit better about it today (day off though).

One question for you all: I have the option to buy one cycle of IUI or a three cycle package (with one free). If I buy the latter, the cycles don't go further if I get pregnant beyond 20 weeks so you 'lose' the money. I really hate the way they do this. It feels like it's profiteering off my panic but at the same time, I'm almost certain it won't happen first time round (given that we're doing IUI & we've been TTC for so long). What would you do?

My friend who got pregnant in her first cycle of IVF bought a 3-cycle package. She said she was so happy to be pregnant, she didn't care about the money in the end.

Ofpalestsilver · 30/10/2020 11:27

I should add that I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford the 3-cycle package without it having any impact on my finances.

Jane1284 · 30/10/2020 11:46

Hi @Ofpalestsilver that's a hard decision to make. Is it a decent saving for the 3 cycle package? I notice that my clinic (Kings) offers a three cycle package of IVF however it says if you get pregnant on the 1st or 2nd cycle they will refund you the remaining cycles. Does your clinic offer you this or do they just keep the money if you get pregnant on the first cycle? x

Ofpalestsilver · 30/10/2020 11:47

@Jane1284 - I think for the IUI package, you don't get a refund. It might be the case for IVF when we get there. The third cycle ends up being free.

dragonfly1978 · 30/10/2020 15:48

@Ofpalestsilver we wrestled with the decision of whether to buy multiple cycles or a single one. I think each situation is so different. In the end we have gone with a single one as I have a high AMH and they said they are expecting a decent number of eggs (the issues for us are with my husbands sperm) so we are really hoping to be able to freeze an embryo so a second round would then (fingers crossed) be a transfer rather than a full round. We could have afforded to buy the multiple package and were also accepted by access fertility for their good deal as well but decided to take the risk on this cycle.

@ivfhope3 how are you feeling today?

First menopur injection completed last night, feel ok so far, let's hope it stays that way 🤞

@all how is everyone?

Rachae · 30/10/2020 16:00

@dragonfly1978 Feeling good thanks! Almost 3 weeks into Buserlin and first scan Wednesday. 😊
Happy Friday to all! Xx

EasterBunny7 · 30/10/2020 17:21

Hello again. I joined the group recently and I've been waiting (impatiently) on my period for a week and it finally arrived this morning!

I had my baseline scan today and it seems like I ovulated last cycle, which is actually very frustrating to hear. Every time I go in for tests, they show successful ovulation yet I haven't managed to get pregnant once in 24+ months? I suppose that's PCOS for you.

I'm starting gonal-f tomorrow, skipping the norethisterone. I never thought I'd be excited about taking injections, but it's finally happening!

Fingers crossed for everyone. It's reassuring to know there are a fair few of us going through this at the exact same time.

dragonfly1978 · 30/10/2020 17:46

@EasterBunny7 great news, you will be 2 days behind me!

81Poppy · 30/10/2020 18:24

@dragonfly1978 do you mind me asking what your AMH is? Did the clinic seem confident it would result in good embryos?
Thanks
