@Rachae one positive is if you had a trigger injection with HCG in now you’ve had a negative that means any positives shouldn’t be from the trigger, and are real.
Fingers crossed

MF1981 · 27/11/2020 09:18

Thanks @Mancbear88 I’m hoping I can do the same but on my clinic website they only mention the down reg version of FET. We’ll see when I speak to them on Monday.

dragonfly1978 · 27/11/2020 10:05

How is everyone doing?

well it's OTD for me and I am now even more unsure. 13dp5dt, used the official test they gave me and not even the control line came up in the time frame. Left it and now showing faint positive but don't think it has worked properly. Have rung clinic a few times and no answer so waiting for them to call me back. I think I'm out but what are the odds of the stupid official test not working properly!!!!

@Rachae exact same cyclogest side effects here! @dragonfly1978 could you use another test my clinic recommended clear blue or frer?
Good luck to those with egg collection and congrats to those who have just had it and can rest up a few days!

Gensola · 27/11/2020 10:35

Just been for my day 7 progress scan, I have 39 follicles, still all of different sizes but about 16 or 17 which are between 12 and 19mm so she wants me to keep injecting over weekend and have a scan on Monday. She thinks EC on Weds next week.

lucymills1234 · 27/11/2020 14:57

@Gensola they're huge numbers! Do you feel ok given all that growth?

@Jane1284 how was your scan today?

@Rachae looking forward to hearing how the EC went. Hope it was as painless as possible.

lucymills1234 · 27/11/2020 14:58

Urgh sorry @Rachae I meant @BrandyM with the EC. Thank god it's Friday.... Blush

Mancbear88 · 27/11/2020 15:00

@MF1981 similar on mine it mentions injections and down regging. I had to take noristorene, as I don’t bleed naturally then it was straight onto oestrogen. Patches, tablets and pessaries (although that’s just because my lining is slow I think most is just tablets). Fingers crossed it’s really straight forward and quick for you!

Gensola · 27/11/2020 15:01

@lucymills1234 I have been getting sharp pains in my ovaries and I am generally exhausted, a bit thirsty (drinking loads but also peeing loads which I think is a good sign) and keen to avoid OHSS. They seem to think as only half of follicles are big that I should be okay and they’re keen to go for a fresh cycle so keeping me on a low dose of Menopur until Monday when they’ll rescan.

Jane1284 · 27/11/2020 15:08

Second scan today was OK. My three follicles are at the size they want and I am booked in for EC on Monday. Have to take my trigger at 1am Sat night/Sun morning. That's going to be fun! ha
Obviously I am disappointed that I only have three follicles and a low chance of success but trying to remain positive. Telling myself that hopefully the next round will be better. It may take me a while but we will get there in the end!

Hope you're all well xx

lucymills1234 · 27/11/2020 15:27

@Gensola not surprised that you're exhausted cooking all that lot!

@Jane1284 Three follicles must have a chance or clinics would insist on more to do EC at all... great news that you are one step further along the process because that's all you can do, get through one step at a time.

I had another scan today. Largest follicle is now just over 17mm, then 15.7, 15.5, 12.9, 12.3, 11.7, 11.1 & 10.9. That's the 8 that were on my baseline - a few more diddy ones appeared but they'll not catch up. They've said to keep taking meds and have another scan on Monday, with the hope that I'll get all 8 ready for collection. EC would be Weds or Thurs depending whether they think another day of meds will help me get all 8. Fingers crossed.... The apts are always so quick that I forget to ask something - this time about the lining.

Sweets208 · 27/11/2020 16:10

Hi All,
I've been so busy that I haven't been able to keep up. I've read a bit and hope that everyone is doing well.

@Jane1284 I have my little 4 follies. So I understand how you are feeling. I had my 2nd scan today as well. The Dr seems to be happy with the size as they are all about 13 / 14mm but of course I'm freaking out that they are too small, that there aren't enough of them, etc, etc. There are 2 little ones in there as well but they are not going to catch up.

@dragonfly1978, it is so confusing. Such an emotional rollercoaster. Thinking of you and hope that you get a clear answer one way or the other soon. I find the not knowing the hardest... Well everything is hard in this IVF Journey

Emotionally I'm all over the place... I haven't been too low but I know that once I get on the Cyclogest, I'll be feeling super depressed as that is the effect that it had on me the first cycle. One step at a time though...

How are you @ivfhope3

Jane1284 · 27/11/2020 16:24

@lucymills1234 glad to hear your scan went well. Sounds like you should get 8 which is a nice number!

@Sweets208 Will be keeping everything crossed for your 4 little follies! How many more days of stims do you have? Your little ones could catch up. My little ones had started growing but nowhere near enough to catch-up. Disappointing but at least I have 3. Could always be worse.
I didn't know that the progesterone pessaries could make you feel depressed. That's not what we need right now on top of everything else! xx

Sweets208 · 27/11/2020 16:35

@Jane1284 I am on day 8 of stims. Dr says he's thinking of egg collection possibly next wed, thurs or friday... I have another scan on monday so we will see...

Yes, I am summoning all positive universal energy to our little eggs!!!! :-) I'm not particularly spiritual or religious at all but I'm laughing here thinking about the YouTube "Ultra Spiritual" guy and what he would be saying about fertility... Has anyone ever seen him? Hilarious

Must keep myself laughing...

ivfhope3 · 27/11/2020 16:37

@Sweets208 heya I'm ok had a scan today need to go back Monday. Clinic have been so unhelpful with things, not calling back. I left a message last week nothing left 2 messages Monday finally got back to me but sounded annoyed. Went in today I knew it was 2 early as I'm only day 10, think it's cause they didn't want to bring me in over the weekend, it's costing £200 for every scan I have.. they said they don't know what there going to do may be January now. I'm actually getting to the point where I'm giving up.

How are you my darling..

I see we have new joiners. Welcome sorry I'm so quiet it's just so hard atm. With not having hubby around being in quarantine, birthday last week on my own lol.. just feeling sorry for myself..

Hope everyone is wel xx

Rachae · 27/11/2020 17:37

Hey everyone! So I'm 6 days past transfer and I took a first response '6 days earlier test and it was negative.
Can anyone help me with the maths please... Where am I in a normal period cycle? I have myself down as around day 27 now so I would expect a sensitive test to at least show a faint line.

I'm ok with dealing with this and would just rather stop the pessaries so I have a good weekend without the awful side effects. I don't expect to see a different result on Monday OTD, as any preg test would show up at that point.. So why wouldn't a faint today. But just to triple check, appreciate your thoughts? Xx

lucymills1234 · 27/11/2020 18:00

@Rachae Sorry to hear that. I’ve not been in your position so can’t say anything from experience, but my inclination would be to continue any meds until you have a definitive negative. You’ve come so far, you might as well see it through so you know you’ve done everything by the book.

As for where you are in your cycle, can only think to go back to your last ‘normal’ period before you had any meds at all and work forward from that, if you’re usually regular. I use an app called Clue which is handy as it plots cycles out for me, in case that helps you in the future.

lucymills1234 · 27/11/2020 18:01

@Jane1284 thank you! as things stand it would be three but I hope the others will get there. Then onto the next hurdles, eh?!

Roo45 · 27/11/2020 19:14

@Rachae I would agree to carry on until official test day I know the side effects are awful though! I have heard of people who only got a positive test (not IVF though) a few days after their period was due and no line prior. Thinking of you xx

MF1981 · 27/11/2020 19:38

@Rachae definitely carry on with the progesterone - the comedown from them made me pretty emotional so keep going until it’s a definite one way or the other.

BrandyM · 27/11/2020 19:45

Thanks all so much for the well wishes. Egg collection today went very well.

Before the procedure, the doctor warned me that although they’ll make every effort to collect eggs from every follicle, the average is 80%. So I went in expecting 4-5 eggs from my 6 follicles.

Just before he sedated me, the anaesthetist said ‘this should work any second now’ and that’s the last thing I remember. 30 minutes later, I woke up from a very deep sleep and it was all over.

I woke up super confused though. I had no idea where I was or what happened (it didn’t help that I was in a different room when I woke up). They then told me that they retrieved eggs from all 6 follicles and I cried like a baby.

The worst bit is the heavy period like pain (cramp) after the procedure. But it’s not any worse than what I normally get with one of my heavy period pains.

Also, although husbands sperm was normal (76% motility) they said after they cleaned it, motility was slightly reduced and coupled with our long history of infertility (been actively trying for over 6 years), they opted for ICSI.

Onto the next hurdle now. They’ll call us tomorrow morning to tell us how many of the 6 are mature and fertilised. Xxx

MrsF1989 · 27/11/2020 20:15

@BrandyM so glad it went well and wasn't too painful for you! 6 eggs is great, I bet you were really happy. 🙏🤞 fingers crossed for lots of fertilised eggs tomorrow! Xx

ShiMo · 27/11/2020 20:26

@BrandyM this is wonderful! I’m so happy for you. Well done and rest up for the next couple of days.

@Rachae sorry to hear that but my thinking is 6 days is still quite early, so maybe you’re not out quite yet.

@dragonfly1978 oh gosh what a horrible predicament, did the clinic call you back?

There’s so much going on this thread, what a rollercoaster IVF is. Delighted to see some great numbers from stims and EC though!

Gensola · 27/11/2020 20:51

@BrandyM that’s such great news! So happy for you 🙌 glad to hear the procedure wasn’t too bad either. Hope you can get a good rest now over the weekend.

Roo45 · 27/11/2020 21:20

Yay @BrandyM!!
