@dragonfly1978 that test looks spoiled to me so I reckon you should buy another and try.

Early testers, have patience! Try to hold on to OTD. Early testing is so uncertain it seems hard to know what’s what. At least on OTD it’s definitive, no messing about. I’ve got 5 more days to go before test. They’ll be long ones but I’m gonna hold out!

MF1981 · 28/11/2020 06:53

Great news @BrandyM

lucymills1234 · 28/11/2020 09:13

That's great news @BrandyM and so glad you got your full quota. I didn't know only 80% get collected (my naivety showing again). Did they tell you how many they got before you left or was it an anxious wait?

Will you get an update today on how many fertilised? Everything crossed!

@Ofpalestsilver well done for holding out. It's obviously a personal decision but if I'm lucky enough to have something to transfer I aim to do the same. Sure it's easier said than done but I think the uncertainty of early testing would drive me more crackers than waiting.

MrsF1989 · 28/11/2020 10:09

Hey,

I know there's been a few comments about cyclogest symptoms, but I've had a constant stomach ache since egg collection, nothing severe, just more annoying that anything 😖 and the only thing I can think now is it must be those. Has anyone else had this?

Hope everyone is okay today? Any updates? Xx

Rachae · 28/11/2020 10:16

Amazing news @BrandyM so happy for you!
@MrsF1989 I had a stomach ache from EC really bad until 5 days after. Its all calmed down now and bloating gone.
I'm feeling really energised and back to normal today. I think because hcg trigger is well out my system and body has got used to the pessaries. I took everyone's advice and didn't stop them.. It's only a few more days. Convinced I'm not preg tho!
(Increased energy today points towards why I don't think I'm preg! I have that much energy today I even thought of going for a run!) xx

Jane1284 · 28/11/2020 10:18

Great news @BrandyM ! I hope they all fertilise overnight. Good luck xx

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 10:19

Thanks so much all.

I just had my fertilisation call with the embryologist. Of the 6 eggs, 4 fertilised.

She said that with my low # of eggs it’s a possibility that none will make it to day 5. Very depressing to hear that I’ve to admit.

At the beginning of my IVF, the stat they told me was that 50% of fertilised eggs generally make it to blast so I was hoping she’d say 2 will likely make it to day 5. To hear the word ‘none’ is just so crushing.

This process is an unbelievable rollercoaster 🎢

Xxx

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 10:23

Thanks so much 🙏@MrsF1989. What you said to me about the pain level was spot on.

Sorry to hear rust you've got constant stomach ache. Not sure if it's the pessaries as I'm not on them. Did they tell you the result of your blood test? Hope you can have your transfer on Monday.

This waiting business is so tiring isn’t it? 🤣

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 10:25

Thanks a lot @ShiMo. I was lucky that egg collection was on a Friday. It gives me the opportunity to just rest up this weekend and watch my husband put the Xmas tree up 🤣

Poor hubby he is literally doing all the chores 🤣🤣

Did you have another scan since your down reg one? Just wondering if some new follies popped up since you started stimming? Xx

MrsF1989 · 28/11/2020 10:26

@BrandyM I'm sorry to hear that, it still is a possibility though, so try to remain hopeful (I know its super easy to say). I sometimes think they like to give the worst case scenario just in case. Have they mentioned about a 3 day transfer?

@Rachae thanks, I will definitely persist, its manageable, just a bit annoying (shouldn't complain really!). Dont think you're out so early, everyone is so different with how they feel after implantation, so try not to over think... even though I will definitely be the same. Enjoy going for a run, maybe take it a bit easy. I miss running, haven't been since starting the process, which is why I'm finding this stomach ache annoying, I want to get out for a nice brisk walk xxx

MF1981 · 28/11/2020 10:27

@BrandyM they have to give you the caveat but stay positive - only one of ours dropped off before day 5 so keeping everything crossed for you.

@MrsF1989 I don’t know if it’s the pessaries or just egg collection - I’m only today managing without painkillers and my egg collection was over a week ago now.

MrsF1989 · 28/11/2020 10:28

@BrandyM and yes my bloods came back fine, so booked in for transfer on Monday 😊🥰 thanks for asking. Feeling very grateful to be at this stag xxx

Roo45 · 28/11/2020 10:34

@BrandyM sorry to hear that, as others have said have they mentioned 3 day transfer?
Hope everyone's doing ok, my emotions keep yo yo-ing between cautious optimism and positivity to being convinced the transfer hasn't worked due to embryo being such low quality :(

Roo45 · 28/11/2020 10:37

@mrsf1989 definitely noticed abdominal discomfort since I started pessaries! Mainly an ache but the odd cramps too

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 10:37

@MF1981 Thanks so much. It's really good to hear how your numbers panned out. Gives me hope. I hope they’re just trying to be pragmatic about it all and manage my expectations.

Glad to hear you’re now managing without painkillers. Heading in the right direction. Good luck with your consult tomorrow xx

Ofpalestsilver · 28/11/2020 10:40

I should add I didn’t mean to sound like a judge mare when I said hold on, it was an attempt at a pep talk for me too! Ha! 4 more days to go. Now I feel every one of them!!

Emmalouise11 · 28/11/2020 10:41

Hey @BrandyM when I had my EC collection they got 10 only 6 were mature and only 4 fertilised! I thought the same as you none would make it to day 5 but luckily they managed to freeze 3 out of 4 I had left. So it can happen, fingers crossed for you! xx

MF1981 · 28/11/2020 10:47

Thanks @BrandyM!

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 10:52

@MrsF1989 and @Roo45 I think my clinic don’t do day 3 transfer (not sure why). They’ll however call me on day 3 morning to update on progress but they said that if the embryos don’t look good on day 3, they will just wait it out till day 5 as they might still go on to become good day 5 blasts.

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 10:57

Oh God @Emmalouise11 you have no idea how good that made me feel. There’s definitely hope then! 3 out of 4 is a very different outcome to the one the embryologist discussed with me this morning. Thanks so much for sharing that!

Hope you're coping well with the waiting? Xx

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 11:00

@all we are approaching 1000 messages on this thread. I think the limit is 1000 (I might be wrong). But, If we can no longer message, I'll set up a new thread (Nov/Dec IVF buddies - continued) and tag you all in. Xx

IslandStars · 28/11/2020 11:07

@BrandyM I was told 30 to 50% make blastocyst and I've read that stat many times, but there is always a chance none will make it sadly. I had 5 eggs fertilize and 3 made blasts. I'm 41. No transfer for me yet as I'm embryo banking. A drop off rate is normal, so there's still every chance you could get 1 or 2 blasts. I think with the first call they like to lower expectation, just so you're aware of the possibilities.

lucymills1234 · 28/11/2020 12:02

@BrandyM as a few others have said I am sure they've given you worst case scenario so you know it's a possibility, rather than because they think it's actually going to happen. Try to think of it this way - getting more eggs than you'd expected means you're ahead of where you otherwise might have been. Not sure if that helps and I do realise it's really not easy.

BrandyM · 28/11/2020 12:05

@IslandStars Another positive story. Very encouraging to hear 3 of your 5 made it to blast. Completely understand they have to caveat and be pragmatic on the first call so I’m not shocked later if none make it to blast.

Oh well... all this is part of the journey. No one said it was going to be easy so I’m going to have to deal with it whatever the outcome.

I do love the positive stories though. Thanks so much for sharing yours!

What a great idea banking embryos. Wish I was aware enough to bank some when I was younger! Xx
