Hi.. I'm starting my third round of ivf First didn't stick second did an ended with a miscarriage.. I'm about to have my third round so throught is start a thread if anyone would like to share there journey or is awaiting ivf. Etc. Let do it together. I was on a thread before an really helped.

Sorry might be less active on the group now as I'm back at work after self isolating for EC but will keep and eye on how everyone is doing.
This group has been a lifeline for me.

@MF1981 @Roo45 it is I called them an left a message on Wednesday, nothing again on Friday and 2 today xx

@Jane1284 had my progress scan this morning. Of my 7 follicles, 1 has decided to drop off completely (weird isn't it?).

6 are growing but at varying degrees. They are measuring as follows -

#1. 21mm
#2. 19mm
#3. 15mm
#4. 15mm
#5. 13mm
#6. 13mm

They asked me to continue stimming until Weds (making it 14 days of stimming) to allow #3-6 to catch up.

They warned me that we might lose #1 and possibly 2 if they grow much faster than the others.

If all works out, Egg collection likely on Friday (if my follicles make it).

This journey is just too much! I'm worried that #1&2 become too big and the others don't catch up by Weds leaving me with nothing to collect...

@ShiMo sorry to hear about your AFC. Im on long protocol too and my AFC before Buserelin was 6. After Buserelin, it went up to 7 but 1 follicle is currently shrinking leaving me with 6 that are still growing.

My baseline scan was 4 - 5 weeks prior to me staring IVF so no difference in AFC in my case.

Hopefully it picks up again when you start stimming. Especially since you had more follies a few months ago. Good luck and let us know how you get on x

@BrandyM thanks for the update. I didn't realise they had to make sure they all grew at the same rate. Makes sense now that I think about it but another thing that is out of our control that adds extra stress to the situation! You're right, this journey is just too much! I hope you are doing OK considering? I really hope you get a few eggs come Friday! Thanks for your encouragement too.

Thanks @lucymills1234 I will definitely share once I get the results this afternoon. I'll have to remember to write it down as I always get so nervous/flustered when I am in there that I forget everything.

I really hope my body is responding to the drugs and every thing is progressing OK. Not sure what can go wrong at this point but I have a feeling something will. Fingers crossed!

@Jane1284 good luck! Don't worry if the follicles aren't exactly the same size. As long as they're not all over the shop like mine, a few mm differences won't be a big issue.

I get so flustered as well and forget to ask all the questions I want to ask. So I started writing my questions in advance on my phone and go through them one by one with the nurse team. I also ask to take picture of their computer screen that shows the scan results as it isn't easy to remember all the measurements.

Unfortunately it is not good news from me. My first progress scan today (day 7) shows only 3 follicles have responded to the medication. They are 16, 15 and 13 in size. Very despondent now. I knew my numbers were crap but I was hoping for at least 5 follicles so I had a chance of getting one blastocyst. I feel like with only 3 that the chance of having a decent egg that will fertilise is so low. This process is so bloody hard.

Sorry to hear that @Jane1284, I don't think people realise how many obstacles there are to get over with IVF, it's such a difficult process. Have they said they can increase the medication dose?

Thank you@81Poppy - No they won't increase my medication. I don't think there is any point because the 3 that have grown are quite large and the others wouldn't be able to catch up. I'm on a pretty high dose already. I just have to hope that one of them is good quality. Otherwise I am not sure if there is anything that can be done differently for future rounds or if I maybe need to look into natural/mild IVF since high stims doesn't get me many follicles anyway. Ah well.

@Jane1284 Sorry to hear that you're despondent, it's a real kicker when you don't get the news you hoped for. Especially when you feel blindsided by things that are or aren't going on inside you that you have no real control over. What did the nurses say to you about next steps? Can they increase any meds or are you at the upper limit already? It's so so much easier said than done but try not to count yourself out just yet. Those 3 follicles are growing :)

@Jane1284 I'm not doing too bad thanks, my treatment has been put back as husband caught COVID and I'll also miss Dec due to Xmas shut down, quite frustrating but again just another hurdle to get over.

It's the uncertainty and not knowing what I find the hardest, also I super paranoid about catching COVID over Xmas and having my treatment stopped 😬

Hey @Jane1284 hope you're ok. I think you've every chance with 3 follicles as it's the quality that counts. My journey is the cautionary tale.. I had loads of follicles and 18 eggs and yet not one was able to be graded on day 5. They did put back one ungraded early blast (and there was only one available) and maybe that's going to work. But I'd far rather have had just 3 follicles that were quality. I think from my research, sometimes over responders means the quality gets spread thin.. As oppose to fewer but chance of higher quality.

Hi @Rachae - thank you for your kind words. Really needed them! As you know it is such a hard journey and we have so much hope which is forever being lifted and then lost again. I really do hope that out of my three follicles I get a decent one. I guess it is just a waiting game now. How are you getting on with your 2WW? I am keeping everything crossed for you and your early blast. xx

@lucymills1234 thanks for your support. The doctor didn't say anything about cancelling the cycle with such a poor response so it makes me think they weren't expecting much from me anyway. There was some talk about doing some blood tests and maybe having a scan tomorrow but after consulting with her boss she came back and said they were happy to leave it until Friday for another scan and likely to have EC on Monday. Just got to hope those 3 carry on growing well and there are no more disappointments.

@81Poppy This whole Covid thing is such an additional unwanted stress isn't it! I am so worried about getting it too. There are so many cases of it around. I know a few people who had it recently, one with no symptoms. I really hope you can get your cycle started early Jan with no more issues. . xx

Thanks @Jane1284 Its most certainly hard.. The way I'm staying sane is to think of each go as a bit of insight or knowledge into the core problem.

It's weird on the 2WW as mine seems to be a 9 day wait! My clinic said I could test 9 days after transfer. So I hope they're right haha as it doesn't seem too long away now xx
