Bless you @ivfhope3...how much longer is he away? Haha I think I would be the same but definitely a good opportunity for self care/pampering!xxx

ivfhope3 · 21/11/2020 22:39

@Roo45 for another 2 weeks. Well until lock down is lifted. Could be next year. I might get used to it by then change the locks 😂😂.. I've done nothing, I completed all my assignments that was due dec. I'm starting to feel maybe I'm a bit old for a baby now 🙈 so many mixed feelings are going in my mind. Not sure if is cause of everything that happened xx

@Rachae I'm so sorry you're going through this hun. I've heard that some clinics wait to day 6 if the eggs don't reach blast stage on day 5. Is this an option in your case or are they worried they won't make it to day 6?

Given your past experience with miscarriages, if you're not comfortable with their approach then challenge them back. At least let them explain their thought process to you in a way that gives you comfort.

Thinking of you. Let us know how you get on xx

BrandyM · 21/11/2020 23:12

@ivfhope3 great to hear from you hun! And no need to apologise. You've done the right thing taking a break. You went through so much.

When's your scan likely to be and is it to check the lining of your uterus or something else?

Haha your 'change the locks' comment cracked me up 🤣🤣🤣

And happy belated birthday 🥳 xxx

Roo45 · 21/11/2020 23:16

Oh no @ivfhope3 I think mixed feelings are totally natural, is there anyone you can talk it through with? xxx

ivfhope3 · 21/11/2020 23:17

@BrandyM 🤣😂.. I've brought a new hoover aswell 🤣🙈.. so scan will be Saturday. I haven't even Told them yet, an then trigger shot usually that day or day after following Saturday. Test date will be 18th December which is when they close. Where are you in everything I'm lost with you all now xx

@all

So on my last scan on Friday (after 8 days of stimming), 4 of my eggs grew, 1 didn't bother and 2 actually had the audacity to shrink in size? Ever heard of shrinking follicles?!

I swear my hubby and I are convinced one of the two nurses (either the first one on Wednesday or the second one on Friday) didn't measure them correctly. It just doesn't make sense to us that they simply shrink when I'm stimming with 350iu of Gonal-f and 0.25ml of Buserelin.

Having said that, I haven't given up yet. I'll continue hoping and fighting until I'm completely out. Miracles do happen. Xx

BrandyM · 21/11/2020 23:31

@ivfhope3 oh wow amazing. Fingers crossed for a nice BFP result for you this side of Christmas 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Today is day 10 of stimming. The nurse reckons I need to continue stimming till Wednesday (making it 14 days of stimming) due to the size of my follicles.

Xx

Roo45 · 21/11/2020 23:36

Good luck @ivfhope3 and @brandym fingers crossed for you both!xx

BrandyM · 21/11/2020 23:42

@Jane1284 thanks so much for your words of encouragement yesterday. Glad to hear also that injections is going well for you. For some reason I didn't get any side effects with the 375iu Gonal-f except a bit of cramping on day 3 or 4 that's now gone and EWCM that started around day 6 or 7. Im thinking the 375 isn't enough for my stubborn ovaries 🤣 It'll be interesting to see if you feel different.

Fingers crossed for good results on your Tuesday scan 🤞🏽😊 xx

ivfhope3 · 21/11/2020 23:43

Aw so we will be sound the same time maybe @BrandyM??? Xxx

BrandyM · 21/11/2020 23:49

@dragonfly1978 congratulations! I know you're nervous about it but very good sign it's BFP now than BFN. 🤞🏽 it stays this way xx

BrandyM · 21/11/2020 23:54

@ivfhope3 exactly! I remember saying to you a long time ago (I think on the Oct/Nov thread) that I'll be with you for the long haul! 🤣 xxx

BrandyM · 21/11/2020 23:56

Thanks @Roo45 and congrats on your 5 fertilised eggs! Hope they all make it to good quality 5 day blast! Xx

BrandyM · 22/11/2020 00:04

@MF1981 how are you feeling? Any relief from taking the lactulose? You're not lactose intolerant by any chance are you? If you're, lactulose isn't the best option. Otherwise it's a great product. Xx

BrandyM · 22/11/2020 00:19

@Ofpalestsilver thanks so much. I'll definitely need to up my fibre intake as I approach egg collection. I'm already on a very high 30gms a day to function normally but will start slowly increasing that over the next few days.

It sound like you're coping with the 2WW very well. When is OTD? Xx

Ofpalestsilver · 22/11/2020 00:50

@Rachae what a difficult situation. And I can’t absolutely see why you were reticent to go ahead as that must be devastating to go through. Do they know why the embryos don’t tend to develop well? I wish you all the good things.

@BrandyM OTD is 2 Dec. As it draws closer it’ll be harder. To be honest, this is significantly easier that the drugs part. I feel like there is literally nothing can do now, nothing anyone can do so either I have an embryo implanted and growing or I don’t. The medication bit had so many variables, was I doing the right thing, would I get to the IUI etc.

Anyway that’s a longer answer than you were probably expecting!

I’ve also started macro tracking and calorie counting again and I’m really focused on it (in an enjoyable and healthy way). That’s helping the time go by. Of course why I could t have done this a year ago I don’t know haha.

Rachae · 22/11/2020 08:02

Hey @ofpalestsilver thanks for your kind words. Nearly soon for your test day too, how exciting!
I think the problem was the lack of information.. all I know is that the embryo was an early blastocyst on day 5 and they said that was common. I just can't find anything online about it and in my end, I'm thinking - shouldn't it be graded on day 5 by now? Also that I can't believe out 14 on day 3, that none made it to grading stage on day 5 and all were behind.

I have seen success stories online (researched a lot last night!) of poor quality embryos or ones that look like day 3/4 on day 4 turning out to be successful pregnancies tho. So looking at it with new light today.. If it was early blasto then that's got to be a little bit more hope. Xx
