Had my egg collection today and 11 eggs, thanks to all who offered reassurance regarding the sedation it was absolutely fine thankfully!x

BrandyM · 20/11/2020 10:20

@MF1981 9 is a great number! Fingers crossed they become great quality day 5 blasts.

Do you think the Co-codamol is what constipated you or is it one of the sedation drugs? It might seem an odd question but I have this massive fear of constipation (believe it or not!) and wanted to know what I need to avoid if/when I get to egg collection.

That's a lot of eggs they collected so it's understandable you are so tender. Look after yourself this weekend xx

BrandyM · 20/11/2020 10:30

@Jane1284 stims is going very well. Thanks for asking 😊

Despite injecting for 8 days (today is day 9) with 375 Gonal-f, I don't feel anything. I don't feel full or bloated which is interesting/slightly worrying 🤔

I'm just outside the clinic now waiting to be called in for my second progress scan.

My worry has now moved from 'number of eggs' to 'size of eggs'. I realised that my eggs were too small on my day 5 scan (they didn't say this to me I'm just speculating from other people's day 5 scan results). So I'm terrified that they might tell me today that they're still too small and we have to cancel. Hopefully not. We will see. The worry never stops does it?

Glad to hear that the first injection went very well! Is your first scan on Monday? Xx

Jane1284 · 20/11/2020 10:38

@BrandyM ahhh good luck for your second scan! I'm sorry you are worrying about the size. They didn't tell you your follicles were small so I presume they were happy with your progress. Even if they are smaller than others, you still have time to grow so I wouldn't worry (easier said than done). These progress scans are so they can monitor you and adjust meds if they need to so if anything needs to be changed they can do it. I know all about thinking the worse and being terrified of the process being cancelled so you are not on your own there. Let us know how you get on xx

First scan is on Tuesday. Hopefully my body reacts well this weekend and my 5 follicles will grow!

MF1981 · 20/11/2020 11:15

Well done @Roo45!

@BrandyM it could be a combo but I was already a bit constipated before yesterday - I have quite a sluggish digestive system at the best of times to be honest. I’m going to take some Dulcolax tonight and hope that eases it. I didn’t get any side effects from the gonal-f, maybe a tiny bit of bloating, so try not to worry about that.

Ofpalestsilver · 20/11/2020 11:27

That's great @Roo45 - what a nice number.

@Jane1284 - you may be able to cure his phobia so good luck! I figured my husband would be more of a hindrance than a help. I joked to a friend yesterday that I might have to get a professional birthing partner because he'll be so freaked out by all the blood & gore. Grin I jest, of course. He's incredibly supportive, just not a great fan of needles & blood. I mean, who is a fan? LOL.

@BrandyM - if they thought they were small, they'd maybe adjust your meds so that they didn't even mention it suggests that they don't feel too worried. Maybe have some prunes available to avoid the constipation! Or, I find that coffee (decaf even) or things with lots of seeds and fibre can do the trick. That's probably not reassuring if you have a fear of it but I think you should be ok. :)

EasterBunny7 · 20/11/2020 12:53

@Roo45

Well done!

dragonfly1978 · 20/11/2020 13:02

@Roo45 great news!

lucymills1234 · 20/11/2020 14:35

Thanks @Jane1284 - yes, I've started injecting now and first scan next week. More waiting! I only have one ovary so given that, and the fact I'm over 40, I will take all I can get on the follicle and egg front! Clinic said my AFC of 8 and AMH (9.7) are good all things considered. I'm single & using a donor so I guess at least that's one less variable.

How did you find the injection? Any side effects you've noticed?

@Rachae your numbers are amazing!!

Jane1284 · 20/11/2020 15:42

@lucymills1234 those numbers sound great for one ovary. Id' be very happy with that! Good luck with the injections over the weekend. I haven't had any side effects after the first injection. My dose is quite high so I wouldn't be surprised if I notice some after a few days. You noticed any? I look forward to hearing how your scan goes next week. Very inspiring doing this process on your own. I hope you have a good support network of friends and family.

@Ofpalestsilver hahaha. I guess some people deal better with blood and medical situations than others. He'll have plenty of time to get his head around it but sounds like doing your own injections is wise. I don't think i would want anyone else injecting me unless they were a nurse or had a lot of experience.

Rachae · 20/11/2020 17:41

@MF1981 that's great news on the fertilised eggs! Chipping in on the constipation... 100%! Went 4 days later.

@Lucymills1234 thanks! I'm not sure the high numbers count though until tomorrow. It really sounded like 3 and others were behind but it was weird the way she delivered it. Said that all had the right amount of cells but. The 3 good ones looked good, whereas the others had fragmentation but can catch up. It only takes one I guess!

How's everyone's Friday?
So nervous for transfer tomorrow all of a sudden! Went to our local farm shop and bought a lovely takeout meal for tonight. I'll be watching the phone all morning in case they call to say none made it. Argh xx

Emmalouise11 · 20/11/2020 18:04

@Rachae omg I feel the exact same as you hoping no one calls me tomorrow morning either! xx

MF1981 · 20/11/2020 18:07

@Rachae good luck for tomorrow! You didn’t go until 4 days after EC? I hadn’t been for 2 days before so am on 4 days now! I’m going to have to take something for it tonight as I think it’s contributing to my discomfort. Sorry for the tmi!

MF1981 · 20/11/2020 18:08

Good luck @Emmalouise11 too!

dragonfly1978 · 20/11/2020 20:24

@Emmalouise11 @Rachae good luck for tomorrow both of you, let us know how you get on x

@EasterBunny7 @Ofpalestsilver how is the waiting going today?? I have made it to 7dp5dt tomorrow, never thought I would make it that long without caving!!

Ofpalestsilver · 20/11/2020 21:47

@dragonfly1978 waiting is not too bad atm. I’m kinda telling myself that nothing is happening. I think as the day comes closer it’ll be a lot harder. So ask me next Friday haha

dragonfly1978 · 21/11/2020 07:20

I caved and tested this morning at 7dp5dt, a positive but now I guess I will have to test every day to check it stays that way!

Jane1284 · 21/11/2020 07:49

@dragonfly1978 congratulations!! That is wonderful news. Don’t blame you for testing early. Not sure I’d be able to hold off either. How many days until your official test day? Will your clinic do a blood test or do they rely on your home tests?

Good luck for your transfers today @Emmalouise11 and @Rachae Will be thinking of you both xx

Emmalouise11 · 21/11/2020 09:09

Thanks @Jane1284 @dragonfly1978 @MF1981

And good luck @Rachae xx

Kitttycatt · 21/11/2020 09:38

@dragonfly1978 massive congratulations! Our first BFP on the group. My clinic says to test two weeks after egg collection, is that longer than normal? I doubt I would last that long.

Best of luck for transfers @Emmalouise11 @Rachae

dragonfly1978 · 21/11/2020 09:43

@Kitttycatt thanks, am nervous it's a false positive though, some clinics seem to say 9 days and some 14. There doesn't seem to be any consistency!

81Poppy · 21/11/2020 09:47

Congratulations @dragonfly1978 lovely to hear positive news!! I doubt it would be a false positive after 9 days 🤞🏻 xx

Roo45 · 21/11/2020 10:16

Congratulations @dragonfly1978!!x

Roo45 · 21/11/2020 10:17

Out of my 11 eggs only 5 have fertilised I'm quite new to this and it seems a low percentage but the embryologist said it was good? Just have to wait and see now.
And ugh I hate the pessaries! They're so messy I just worry they aren't going in far enough?! But I've heard they can be messy

Rachae · 21/11/2020 10:40

Hey @dragonfly1978 that sounds like hopeful news! Is it 9 days past the transfer or 9 days past the trigger shot?
What you could do is take a test every 2 days and see if the line gets darker?

@Roo45 that's great news! Im not sure yet as I'm off to my transfer now... But it might be that I have 3 good quality out of 14. So not sure the higher numbers count anyways and you might end up with 5! Xc
