First cetrotide done tonight - then I switch from gonal f to menopur tomorrow. The cetrotide wasn’t as bad as I was expecting but it does leave what looks like a little nettle rash and a bit of an achy feeling.

@ivfhope3 Haven't heard from you in ages hun. Just checking in to see that you're ok? Thinking of you.... 🙂 xxx

Rachae · 14/11/2020 07:43

Hey ladies, happy weekend! Hope you're ok Smile So I'm doing my trigger shot tonight... anyone done this before? Mine is Ovitrelle.. Im wondering if this one hurts. Going to be so nice to get a sleep in tomorrow with no early morning injections to do anymore!

BrandyM · 14/11/2020 08:56

@MF1981 Oh wow over 30 follicles is an amazing number. Good measurements as well!

How are you feeling? Have they given you advice on managing the risk of OHSS? I think I’ve read somewhere that drinking plenty of water is recommended but not sure if it really helps or not? XX

MF1981 · 14/11/2020 09:04

I’m feeling alright thanks @BrandyM. I feel very full and heavy in the ovary type area but not bloated at all yet. I asked for any advice and the nurse just said if you’re going to get it then you’re going to get it but to keep drinking lots of water. I’m trying to drink between 2 and 3 litres a day. She also said to monitor that what comes out is relevant to what goes in liquids-wise. I don’t think OHSS fully kicks in until after the trigger and collection so we’ll see. I did some research on it yesterday and about a third of women get mild OHSS and only 5-8% will get it severely. So that made me feel a little better. I think it’s the not knowing that’s hard to deal with - I don’t know how I’m going to feel if I get ill, I don’t know if I’ll have to do a freeze all, if I do have to do a freeze all then I don’t know when transfer would be etc etc. Also I don’t know if how I’m feeling now is normal! How are you getting on with the injections?

MF1981 · 14/11/2020 09:05

Good luck @Rachae - let us know how the tigger goes!

BrandyM · 14/11/2020 09:05

@EasterBunny7 did you have your egg collection yesterday? How are you doing and how did it go? Smile Xx

BrandyM · 14/11/2020 09:13

@Emmalouise11 congrats on your scan and happy trigger day! Hope it all goes well tonight Smilexx

81Poppy · 14/11/2020 09:20

@Rachae from what I remember the trigger shot is fine think it's just a bit more nerve wracking - good luck

@MF1981 I had Mild OHSS after my 1st cycle it was monitored fine I didn't feel ill and still went ahead with the transfer (which was successful)

BrandyM · 14/11/2020 09:23

@Rachae Happy trigger day! Is egg collection confirmed for Monday? Time flies by doesn’t it?

Not sure if they triggered with Ovitrelle but maybe @dragonfly1978 and @EasterBunny7 can advise on it as they've gone past egg collection.

I know what you mean about getting a sleep in. This injection business ruins weekend lie ins doesn’t it?

Good luck with the injection tonight. Let us know how you get on Smile xx

Rachae · 14/11/2020 09:24

Thanks everyone! @MF1981 I'd recommend drinking water like the others said. After my last scan I've pretty much got mild OHSS the nurse said.. It's painful to walk a few steps and I'm very bloated and thirsty all the time. She also said to wear loose fitted clothing and limit my movements. Only 2 days to go though!

MF1981 · 14/11/2020 09:24

Good to know @81Poppy - do you mind if I ask how many follicles you had and how many eggs?

Rachae · 14/11/2020 09:25

@BrandyM yep egg collection 8.30am Monday morning Smile How are you doing? What stage are you at now x

MF1981 · 14/11/2020 09:25

@Rachae eeekk so this heavy feeling is going to get worse then?

BrandyM · 14/11/2020 09:30

@Rachae how exciting? Not long to go for you.

Today is day 3 of stimming (Gonal -f) for me so probably about 9-10 days behind you Smile xx

81Poppy · 14/11/2020 09:34

@MF1981 I can't quite remember numbers think it was around 20 follicles not too sure about Eggs/Embryos I think it was around 15 eggs and 12 embryos to start but that's a bit of guessing work

dragonfly1978 · 14/11/2020 09:42

@Rachae I had a gonasi trigger shot which was fine not ovitrelle so sorry I can't help!

On my way for embryo transfer - slightly terrified!!

81Poppy · 14/11/2020 09:53

@dragonfly1978 good luck! Getting to that point is an achievement in itself!

Rachae · 14/11/2020 10:02

Omg @dragonfly1978 good luck, how exciting!

BrandyM · 14/11/2020 10:08

@dragonfly1978 That's exciting. The very best of luck Smile Let us know how you get on xx

BrandyM · 14/11/2020 10:11

@MF1981 My injections is going well. Like you said before, Gonal-f isn’t too bad at all. I don’t feel any different on it though which I guess is expected as I’ve only injected twice but God I’m praying for some bloating so I know it’s working. Life is funny, always wanting what we can’t have.

2-3L is a decent amount of water. I’m trying to drink about 2L but spend most of the day and night visiting the toilet. The struggle is real 🤣

If it’s only 5-8% that get it severe then your chances of being in the 92% is far more than the 8% so fingers crossed!

You’re right - it’s the not knowing that’s frustrating. Especially not knowing if how you feel is normal with no previous experience of IVF or OHSS. I temporarily got bloated last night and was saying to DH not sure if it was my dinner or the stimming. In the end it was just my cheesy dinner 🤣

MF1981 · 14/11/2020 10:12

Good luck @dragonfly1978!

MF1981 · 14/11/2020 10:16

@BrandyM I didn’t feel any different until day 4 and still now don’t really have any bloating but the scan showed it definitely is all working so don’t worry.

MF1981 · 14/11/2020 10:19

Wow big numbers @81Poppy!

Emmalouise11 · 14/11/2020 10:37

Thanks guys. Good luck @dragonfly1978!

@Rachae I also have to go in at 8.30 Monday morning but they reckon the actual procedure is around half 11. What time are you doing your trigger shot? Mines at half 12 tonight. Good luck with it. X
