Hi.. I'm starting my third round of ivf First didn't stick second did an ended with a miscarriage.. I'm about to have my third round so throught is start a thread if anyone would like to share there journey or is awaiting ivf. Etc. Let do it together. I was on a thread before an really helped.

@MF1981 just to clarify out of the 12 embryos I ended up with 4 blasts, 1 baby - not 12 embryos that made it to transfer

I was 34 then I'm going again now at 39 so not sure what to expect this time round

@Jane1284 How are doing? Is AF expected this coming week?

I saw you mentioned that the first day of the month is busy for you. Are you in accounting/ Finance by any chance? If you’re then that’d be yet another similarity between us. I’m praying to avoid days 1-3 of the month from an egg collection perspective. Then I stop and think, it’ll be a blessing to get to that point with my low AMH so I’ll be grateful whatever day it ends up being. The team will manage fine without me 🙂

By the way, how many units of gonal-f and menopur are you going to be on? Xx

@BrandyM only yesterday really when I was scanned - don’t think the prodding and poking helped! It eased a little this morning once I got up and moving. Yesterday was day 5 of stims.

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Had two top graded ones transferred just now and was nervous but it wasn't painful at all thank goodness. Another made it to blastocyst but not good enough for freezing. They are going to give the other five another day to see if they make it to blastocyst but they don't think I will have any to freeze. Have a picture of the blastocysts inside me - very surreal!!

Whats everyone's views on having a warm (not too hot) bath during stims? In the last 2-3 months I got into the habit of having a bath every evening after work and it’s the one thing I find so relaxing. I don't really want go give it up but hearing conflicting information on it. Some people say it’s fine up to egg collection. Others say not to do it at all.

My clinic didn’t mention anything on this (maybe I need to ask) but are any of you into baths and if so are you planning to continue as normal? XX

Hey @Emmalouise11 oh wow, similar time! So my trigger is at 9.30pm tonight so I'm pretty sure they're taking me straight in after I get put on a drip.
@dragonfly1978 that is amazing news! My clinic said I couldn't have two put back in if they are good quality... How did you convince them, just out of interest? I'd rather they put two back (if I have the luxury of course!) and accept the risk.
@BrandyM not sure on baths as I always shower. I know it's not advised during the first trimester..

@Rachae I am over 40 so they recommended I have two back! If I had had three good ones I would have pushed for all three!!

Thank you for asking: yes, had egg collection yesterday. I was terrified leading up to it but I remembered absolutely nothing and woke up on the ward. I was so happy when I woke up . A little sore which has only flared up since I got home, but manageable.

I was already worried when they decided to trigger me early but they managed to get 10 eggs. 7 have fertilised.

Now, for the next bit I need everyone's advice, please. Embryologist told me they could potentially transfer 2 embryos on day 3. But, I am worried about the high risks of multiple pregnancies. What should I do?

I did Ovitrelle, it's no more or less painful than your stim pen.

Only thing I'd say is we didn't twist the dial enough (the reader only says 1 which is confusing) so we had the needle stuck in my belly and it stopped a little way in! We had to keep twisting without pulling the needle out but it was an unnecessarily panic filled moment

@EasterBunny7 thanks. Do they not recommend day 5 blastocyst transfer over day 3?? I think there is less chance of success and multiples with a day three transfer so maybe that's why they are saying possibly two? I would go for it if that's what they are saying?

@BrandyM hey- doing OK but a bit down on the waiting. Have it in my head now that something will be wrong and I won't get to start. One of those days! I've get over myself. haha. AF expected Tues or Weds.
OMG yes! I am an accountant working in Finance/Investments. How funny- we have so many similarities. It looks like EC will fall around that exact time but you are so right, i should just be happy to make it there! My tiny AFC does not bode well.
They haven't given me my doses for the drugs yet. They showed me it on Wednesday and i vaguely remember the gonal-f dose being quite high but they said it may change based on my next scan. Now just worried they won't want to go ahead if I don't have enough follicles!
Not sure about the bath but I would think it was OK if it wasn't too hot and relaxes you. How you feeling on your stims?

@Easterbunny7 that is brilliant news, congratulations! 7 fertilised is a great number. I'm not sure on the day 3 dilemma as my clinic have only offered me day 5 transfer if they make it xx

They said that if they're really good at day 3, it is better for it be in the natural incubator i.e. my uterus than an artificial lab for an extra two days.

@EasterBunny7 that makes sense. They all seem to do it so differently and tell us all different things don't they! Mine don't even look at the embryos from day 1 until day 5 as they say it damages them to move them and look and reduces the chances of success. It's so hard to know what's right isn't it!!!!

Ok trigger shot done and it was a dream! Soo much nicer than the other injections, didn't feel a thing. Hurrah, last one done!

@EasterBunny7 congrats on your 7 fertilised eggs! That's a great number.

It's a hard decision between transferring one vs two. What I personally would do is aim to transfer one (to avoid the risk of multiple pregnancies) but make the final decision on the day itself. My consultant has advised me that they'd only recommend to transfer two if the egg quality is questionable. Can you do something similar and decide on day 3 based on the egg quality? Xx
