@EasterBunny7 My cycles used to be crazy, anywhere between 40 - 90 days! I took metformin for a year and it's now down to 35 days.

I don't think I ovulate but if I did, it would likely be on day 21 according to the tracker app I use so I'm telling myself that's the reason I'm taking so long.

They did say they expected me my follicles to be a bit later because of that but because this is my first cycle they've scanned me from a week just in case.

Ofpalestsilver · 11/11/2020 16:36

@Jane1284 - ah how annoying! why can't things be simple? Hope the wait isn't too annoying! We'll be here with you over the next week.

BrandyM · 11/11/2020 18:28

@Luludarty and @MF1981 Thanks both that makes me feel so much better about starting Gonal-f tomorrow.

@Luludarty On the scan front, I’ve got one next weds (6 days into injections) followed by another one next Friday (8 days into injections). They did say that I might need more scans depending on how I’m responding to meds etc. They said the 2 scans are the minimum but some people need upto 6 scans so may have to do more.

You mentioned before that you’ve got very high AMH so you’re likely to have plenty of follicles on Tuesday. I’m not jealous at all. Haha 🤣

Hope your scan on Tuesday goes well. Let us know how you get on🙂 xxx

Luludarty · 11/11/2020 18:54

@BrandyM oh you’re having so many. I was so worried about my lack of scans but they said the only reason I’d need more scans is because I might get OHSS, but if I’m going to get that I’m going to get it, regardless of how many scans I have. I’m trying not to think about it but when I read that you’re all getting scanned so much I do panic a bit.

Let us know how tomorrow goes. I honestly think the anticipation is worse than the actual injection. Every night around this time I get a bit antsy and then we go do it and it’s totally fine.

x

MF1981 · 11/11/2020 19:47

@Luludarty same! Just done my third one. Scan on Friday so 5 days in.

Ofpalestsilver · 11/11/2020 19:55

I think I injected into a previous site tonight. Ouch! One good thing about injections though is I use it as 25 minutes to just chill out and relax.

My husband doesn’t get involved cos he’s scared of needles (haha great use he is!) so I come upstairs, do it and then have a wee lie down!

EasterBunny7 · 11/11/2020 21:19

Had an excitable evening.... got told I'm going in for egg collection on Friday... and that's that! Confused

Ofpalestsilver · 11/11/2020 21:34

@EasterBunny7 Oh wow! That seems quite sudden but that's great news! Only two more days to go!

dragonfly1978 · 11/11/2020 21:38

@EasterBunny7 great news!!! Fingers crossed for you 🤞

EasterBunny7 · 11/11/2020 22:59

@Ofpalestsilver it's funny, I knew it was a possibility but it suddenly felt imminent (and much much too soon) when they called! I think that's the nerves talking. You'll soon be joining me after the weekend!

@dragonfly1978 thanks for the well wishes. How are your embryos coming along?

MF1981 · 12/11/2020 08:25

Exciting news @EasterBunny7!

@Ofpalestsilver ouch that doesn’t sound good!

Jane1284 · 12/11/2020 08:44

@Ofpalestsilver thank you. I'll be following everyone else's journeys eagerly while I wait.

@EasterBunny7 that is great news. I hope you are feeling good now you have gotten over the initial shock? Very exciting!

dragonfly1978 · 12/11/2020 09:33

@EasterBunny7 we won't know until Saturday morning how the embryos are doing - they don't look at them between day one and five as it can have a negative impact on them - the wait is killing me!!! I literally can't sleep at all - roll on Saturday! I have convinced myself that none of the eight will have made it 😥

Rachae · 12/11/2020 09:44

Hi Everyone!
Has anyone had 2 scans before doing egg collection? I realised there are two on my sheet... First one was today, 7 days after starting Menopur to see how things are going. Then another scan 2 days before egg collection.

Anyway, they've said they want to bring egg collection forward! To either this Saturday or Monday. I had 12 follicles ready plus more smaller ones growing, so around 21 in total.

I'm wondering if anyone had a second scan.. And the smaller ones did grow? Just to give me an idea of many ill have at EC xx

Emmalouise11 · 12/11/2020 10:01

Hey @Rachae yes I’m having 2 scans I had one on Tuesday and I have another one tomorrow morning and my egg collection is meant to be on Monday aswell. What size do they need to be ready? I think my biggest ones were at 14mm on Tuesday.

Rachae · 12/11/2020 10:27

Hey @Emmalouise11 I think the doctor was using a predictor.. So the smaller ones that are a 'hope they grow' were about 9-10mm and the ones that will def mature were 12, 15-20mm now xx

MF1981 · 12/11/2020 10:27

Keep the faith @dragonfly1978

I don’t know how many scans I’ll be having - first one is tomorrow which is day 5 of gonal f, then I switch to menopur. When I had my doctor consultation she said I would be scanned every other day until collection. But then I am at increased risk of OHSS as I have a large number of follicles anyway and fairly high AMH.

Rachae · 12/11/2020 10:39

Ah cool thanks @MF1981, that's what they said to me too. They want to bring egg collection forward as I'm at risk of OHSS

EasterBunny7 · 12/11/2020 11:15

@Jane1284

I had a very restless sleep last night with all my anxiety. Today, I am just getting things ready for d-day: basic things like cleaning the bedroom in anticipation of me living solely there for the next couple of days Grin, cooking in bulk to tide us over, supermarket run, give the house a once over which we'd usually have done on the weekend and of course: work! Finishing off urgent bits and pieces before I'm off. Suddenly, 1.5 days doesn't sound that long!

EasterBunny7 · 12/11/2020 11:18

@dragonfly1978

I don't know why I had this idea of them calling us daily to update us but it does sound like a good idea not to disturb the embryos do frequently Blush.

You've made it halfway, just a couple of more days to go! 8 sounds fantastic to me. I'm worried doctors have got me to pull the trigger (literally Wink) a bit too soon. I'll be really disappointed if there are no eggs at the end of it.

Jane1284 · 12/11/2020 11:19

@EasterBunny7 Restless sleeps are the worse. So hard not to stress though. I am impressed by your preparation! I think you have everything covered there. Now you can just focus on tomorrow and keeping your stress levels low (if that's possible!) I hope you have a good selection of shows to watch which you are resting over the weekend. x

EasterBunny7 · 12/11/2020 11:20

@MF1981

Thanks for the well wishes.

With scans, I assume it's the same for everyone: one every other day to monitor progress? That's how it was for me, at least.

MF1981 · 12/11/2020 11:39

@Rachae I wonder if that’s what will happen to me then?

@EasterBunny7 I’m exactly the same - did an online supermarket shop this morning, have 3 loads of washing ready and have cleaned the entire house over the last few days. Trying to keep busy but also anticipating that I won’t be wanting to do much over the next week or so. Re scans, I think some people seem to not be having them every other day? I’ll see what my clinic say tomorrow when I go in.

Also, is anyone else crazy thirsty and crazy tired?!

Ofpalestsilver · 12/11/2020 12:01

I have a dominant follicle. Woohoo! I was so worried that they would all be 8mm. I have a 15mm and two 13mm. Another scan tomorrow, trigger likely to be Sunday and then insemination on Monday! Hopefully just one will continue to grow (or maybe two cos I like the chances a bit better!) and then all goes well. I feel like I am finally on my way. I'm glad that I'm off work until Monday. I don't think I could work right now.

dragonfly1978 · 12/11/2020 12:01

@Rachae I had a scan every other day from day 7 of stims, I think it varies a lot from clinic to clinic.

@EasterBunny7 I did exactly the same last Sunday, my work inbox was empty which never happens, the house was spotless and the fridge and cupboards were full of food! I also put dinner in the slow cooker the morning of collection so it was all sorted for that evening! I worried about the trigger being too early as well but am glad I trusted them now - it's so hard though isn't it!
