@EasterBunny7 luckily I am a nurse so mixing the injections didn't bother me too much!! I rang the clinic today as had some brown spotting (small amount) and panicked so they have agreed to scan me on Weds but reluctantly- that will be 7 days into stims.

@all has anyone else had any spotting on menopur??

dragonfly1978 · 02/11/2020 17:04

@ivfhope3 great news!!

ivfhope3 · 02/11/2020 17:07

Emmalouise11 · 03/11/2020 11:41

@all how is everyone?

Starting meriofert injections tonight hoping it’s not too bad, Does everyone inject in their stomach or their leg? Wondering if one was better than the other.

MF1981 · 03/11/2020 12:14

Hey guys. I’m on the progynova - what sort of side effects do people tend to get from it? And I’m counting down to hopefully AF making an appearance on Friday and starting gonal-f injections on Saturday. I’ve had loads of spotting these last 2 or 3 days - it’s so frustrating and making me really worry that this whole thing isn’t going to work. But I have to try and trust the process and my body. How’s everyone else doing?

ivfhope3 · 03/11/2020 12:33

@MF1981 prognova I I took mine different to you I had to say it on day one of cycle. You can have spotting with it.
I asked my nurse an it's a medication they give to women going through the menopause. I also then asked the question oh my so am I going through the menopause as well.. the answer was no.
It can also make you period lighter then normal. As when I took it I didn't really she a period. I would contact the clinic and ask. As I know we all take medication in different ways as I found out through these groups..

How are you feeling??

I've jsut had a phone call from the clinci. As I needed to ask questions. As I've never had a natural cycle
It's actually happening reallly quickly
I go for an scan of everything is growing nicely I take a shot an 5 days later we're on which is not this Saturday next
I'm actually really scared now.. an also hubby not being here for 4 weeks. I'm gonna need you guys xxx

Hey @MF1981 I was on progynova and I didn’t get no side effects, so hopefully you dont either.

Emmalouise11 · 03/11/2020 12:39

@Emmalouise11

Hey *@MF1981* I was on progynova and I didn’t get no side effects, so hopefully you dont either.
Also I started it on day 21 of my cycle for 8 days so my period came at the same time as usual.
Rachae · 03/11/2020 12:51

Hey @Emmalouise11 I've found the stomach injections near belly button loads easier and painless than the thigh!

I have my first check in appointment tomorrow to find out if the 3 weeks of Buserlin has worked and I can go into menopure. Really hope so as started to get pretty tired as a side effect now!

Rachae · 03/11/2020 12:51

@ivfhope3 that is great news!!

MF1981 · 03/11/2020 14:15

@Emmalouise11 - same-ish - I was told to take mine for 5 days before my period was due. The spotting is not unusual for me at this point in my cycle but it does seem to be more than normal.

@ivfhope3 how are you feeling about it happening pretty quickly? We’re all here so lean on us as much as you need.

BrandyM · 03/11/2020 20:54

@Emmalouise11 concurring what @Rachae said. Injecting Buserelin has been so easy on my lower belly I didn't even try switching to my thigh.

My husband does my injections and if I close my eyes, often times I don't even feel it.

Xx

Emmalouise11 · 03/11/2020 21:19

@BrandyM I just did my first injection and went for the stomach it stung a little bit but was also tensing but not as bad as I thought it would be, so hopefully tomorrow it’ll be easier lol. Did find it fiddly having to keep mixing the solution and syringing it back up.

Emmalouise11 · 03/11/2020 21:37

@BrandyM I’ve just done my first injection and went for my stomach it stung a little bit and I was tensing but wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be so hopefully tomorrow it’ll be easier, did find it fiddly though having to keep mixing the solution together and get it all back out into the syringe.

Rachae · 03/11/2020 22:02

@Emmalouise11 I also find it easier and less stingy if I breathe in so the air fills my whole stomach and then breathe out until it deflates. I do that about 3 times before injecting and it solves the tense tummy issue.

Emmalouise11 · 03/11/2020 22:23

Ooo thanks @Rachae I’ll give that a go tomorrow x

Kitttycatt · 04/11/2020 08:54

Hello all 👋 ok if I join? Starting my first round of IVF on Sat, egg collection booked in for 14 Dec. Anyone else around that time?

ShiMo · 04/11/2020 09:17

Welcome @Kitttycatt! How are you feeling about it? What protocol are you on?

I’m on the long one due to endometriosis and adenomyosis. Start buserelin (down regulation) on Monday! Not got egg collection booked yet as all depends on how my body reacts to stims and so on. Any idea why they’ve booked your egg collection in already? Not trying to alarm you, just curious! x

Rachae · 04/11/2020 10:31

Hey everyone, I got good news on my first scan today. I've down regged successfully and now on menopure. If all goes well then I have EC in two weeks Smile

Kitttycatt · 04/11/2020 11:04

@ShiMo I'm guessing i'm on the long one too, I think the short version is only for people with PCOS, so we will only be a few days apart. We have MFI issues (low morphology) so we will need ICSI and luckily everything looks good on my side. I'm actually really excited to start, as feel we are moving onto the next stage.
My clinic does seem to do things differently, rather than starting buserelin on day 1 of your period, they work back from your booked in egg collection and give you a date to start medication. They have said appointments are subject to change depending on how you react. Not sure why they do this, totally forgot to ask at my appointment yesterday.

dragonfly1978 · 04/11/2020 11:26

@Rachae great news on your scan!

I had my scan after six days on menopur today and have eight already over 13mm on the right and two on the left. Supposed to be having collection next Weds but they have said they may bring it forward to Monday. I am just relieved there are some!
My lining is good at 7 so she said the spotting I had wasn't anything to worry about.

@EasterBunny7 how was your first scan??

Ofpalestsilver · 04/11/2020 11:27

@dragonfly1978 - that's great news! And exciting that they are bringing it forward. :)

I am going for my scan today to see how things have grown since the baseline.
