@dragonfly1978

Hello IVF buddy! How are you finding the injections? Do they hurt? Are you getting symptoms?

I just started a new job role and I'm worried about this impacting my performance. Halloween Confused

dragonfly1978 · 31/10/2020 10:23

@EasterBunny7 hi, going ok and no they don't hurt at all thank goodness. A few twinges in ovary area and a bit of nausea but that's it so far. I am sure next week will get harder though 😥. Good luck in your new role, at least it will be a distraction!!

dragonfly1978 · 31/10/2020 10:24

@ivfhope3 fantastic news!!!!!! 😃

BrandyM · 31/10/2020 10:32

@Rachae I’m so sorry about your miscarriages. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot already! Hopefully they collect large number of good quality eggs to give them the option to transfer the highest quality according to its maximum potential to stick.

My diagnosis is ‘Premature Ovarian Aging’. It means my number of remaining eggs is too low for my age. I’m 37 but my number of eggs is that of someone 40+ years old. We also had low morphology issue (although this has been fixed in our latest sperm analysis).

How are you coping with Buserelin? Any severe side effects after 3 weeks? Xx

ivfhope3 · 31/10/2020 12:32

Thanks everyone this is great this has happened an now we're going into lockdown fml lol xx

@ivfhope3 if France is anything to go by, lockdown has started but IVF is still going ahead as normal x

Ellie42567 · 31/10/2020 12:51

@Birdladybird Thank you for saying that. I've been in a bit of a flap this morning about the possibility that it might all stop due to lockdown! I don't start nasal spray until Wednesday so was thinking that they might get in touch to say don't start it. Fingers crossed it can all carry on as planned!

Birdladybird · 31/10/2020 12:57

I was supposed to start in march but it was cancelled because of lockdown. I'm in France.

I started taking Provames last week and as soon as AF arrives (its late!!) i'll start injecting. Couldn't believe it when we went into lockdown yesterday, but clinic said all still good. Its probably good for me as i have a busy job and we will have to remain closed so i can focus everything on my IVF.

Ellie42567 · 31/10/2020 13:07

Omg what a relief for you, this time around! That must have been so frustrating back in March. Fingers crossed for you! Yes, it'll be nice to be forced to be off work! It'll give you plenty of time to relax and look after yourself!

Rachae · 31/10/2020 13:57

Thanks @BrandyM Smile Yea it's been a lot to process but I feel so grateful to have a shot at IVF and sort of hand it over to the experts. I know that lots of women would prefer to do it the natural way, but for me it was only heartache and never any guarantees naturally. I wish I'd just gone straight to IVF to be honest.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles also. I did read about egg count averages etc today and it seems as long as you have 1 quality egg, that's better than 20 low ones.

Buserelin-wise it's been ok compared to the horror stories I read about. The only downside is I like to watch my weight and exercise lots. I've found every night I crave dairy milk and I literally think I've eaten a bar every night! Omg. Also not exercised much as super tired. But really that's not too bad compared to hot flushes and all the other ones. Xx

BrandyM · 31/10/2020 14:22

@Jane1284 When is your results for the new sperm analysis back? The results definitely change over time (from personal experience) so hopefully you see improvements. Fingers crossed. If not, it’s not a major factor on its own (thanks to ICSI).

I heard so many horror stories about the side effects of Buserelin (the drug I’m currently injecting to down regulate). However, 10 days into it, I only had minor headache (yesterday and today). They did say that some people get all the side effects and others don't. So far, I’ve been very lucky!

My AF arrived yesterday (as expected) so currently on track to meet the clinics treatment schedule.

What’s next steps for you - is it nurse consultation next week?

Also, where did you find the low AMH/AFC success stories? I’m trying to stay positive too so could do with listening to them as well xx

MF1981 · 31/10/2020 14:55

Great news @ivfhope3!!!

Jane1284 · 31/10/2020 16:22

@BrandyM good question. No idea when the results come back. We both forgot to ask. I have the nurses consult on Tuesday so I can ask them then or send an email next week. The admin at kings seems pretty good so far. My drugs are being delivered on Monday so it is feeling like it’s all kicking off. Just hopeful for no lockdown dramas stopping IVF 🤞🏻

Glad everything is going well for you and no side effects. And great that AF arrived on time. Mine is very regular but would be typical to be late the one time I want it to come! I’m 3 weeks behind you it seems.

For the success stories, I was looking up ivf on the nhs website and stumbled across a number of posts under The Fertility Network group on something called health unlocked. I had never heard of it before. I made myself an account and put a post up saying ‘low amh/afc trying to stay hopeful would love to hear some good stories’ and a bunch of woman responded telling me about their success. Lifted my spirits. Would recommend xx

Roo45 · 31/10/2020 17:02

I'm so worried about the lockdown and treatment too! I'm 2 weeks into buserelin on the long protocol.

BrandyM · 31/10/2020 17:25

@Jane1284 thanks very much for the fertility network group- never heard of it if it before. I'll check it out later this evening.

I don't think you'll be 3 weeks behind me as you're on the short protocol. I think we might start stimming around about the same time. When are you due to start injections (AF allowing)? Xx

BrandyM · 31/10/2020 17:29

@Roo45 I'm 10 days into Buserelin and also worried about what they are going to announce on lockdown today.

The news conference was supposed to be at 4pm but they are now saying it's 6:30pm. It's killing me.

I'm hopeful it doesn't affect clinics but there's that 1% doubt in my head that makes me think what if they announce full lockdown of all businesses.

It's horrible to go through IVF as it is without having to worry about this too. It is a bit shit for those of us that have already started injecting!!

ivfhope3 · 31/10/2020 17:39

@all this is cause I've come on my period... this happened before I was supposed to go for transfer an we had lockdown 2 days later..

I've been with my nan today so I'll get reading in a min :)

How is everyone xx

Hello, may I join? I will be starting my 2nd IVF cycle at the start of my period mid November... The first one ended in miscarriage in February...Getting myself mentally prepared for another round..

Thanks for the support.

Jane1284 · 31/10/2020 19:09

@BrandyM day two is currently estimated to be around 16th Nov so not too long to wait I guess.

@Sweets208 welcome :) Sorry to hear about your mc. Sending you lots of positive vibes for your next cycle. Sounds like we will be starting around the same time. Are you on short protocol? X

ivfhope3 · 31/10/2020 19:37

@Sweets208 welcome hun. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage.. lovely ladies in the thread.. anything you need xx

OP posts:
BrandyM · 31/10/2020 20:08

@Jane1284 great - yes not long to go! That means I'll be just 4 days behind you as I'm currently projected to start my stimulation injections on the 12th. The injections I'm currently on are just to downregulate me xx

BrandyM · 31/10/2020 20:10

@all I think the coronavirus government update implied that they would expect scans and medical appointments to continue as normal? Is that what you all understood as well? I feel very relieved about it all! Phew. Xx

BrandyM · 31/10/2020 20:13

Welcome @Sweets208!

So sorry to hear about your MC.

Sounds like there is a few of us starting stimming mid November. Look forward to sharing experiences and supporting each other! Xxx

Luludarty · 31/10/2020 20:45

Hey everyone,

@ivfhope3 I am so happy for you! You can finally look ahead instead of being stuck in limbo.

@BrandyM yeah he was saying how important it is that healthcare continues outside of the virus and that the virus doesn’t impact healthcare this time. So hopefully we will all be okay. I am a bit worried about it now though. With it all going up it will be just my luck to test positive and have to stop treatment.

I finally got my baseline scan this week. Thanks for those who encouraged me to speak to the clinic. Last day if Norethisterone tomorrow. I hear the period following Norethisterone is a bit of a beast.

X

ivfhope3 · 01/11/2020 12:22
