Will try to tag the regulars, apologies if I miss anyone. @Custardandcream @nextweek @kikisparks @StayingPositive8 @Bruce2 @CardboardCat @MrsT36 @loulamay @MsNoons17 Argh, my phone is refusing to autocomplete properly - I hope that works.

Wishing everyone heath and happiness - whatever stage of the journey you're on xx

@loulamay good luck for your scan! Mine is in a week but I couldn’t wait any more and we went for a private scan today. Baby is all good, and we’re having a girl too! That’s amazing that you’ve been feeling your baby move, I have had a few small bubbly feelings but not felt much, but I found out today we have an anterior placenta so it might be a bit longer for stronger movements yet.

I feel much better, it’s been a big change over the last week or so, although I do think it was gradually getting better before that too. I still get a bit nauseous but nowhere near like before, and I now feel able to go out without worrying about being sick.

Hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather.

loulamay · 06/06/2021 18:52

@kikisparks so great on both counts!

I hope finding out about the anterior placenta helps in case you were worried about not feeling movement. I was almost 21 weeks before I could be sure it was her and not gas! Hahaha

loulamay · 08/06/2021 14:05

Hey @Mseddy @kikisparks just to say I had my 22 week scan today (super anxious beforehand) but she passed with flying colours! So relieved.

Have either of you starting buying any baby stuff?

kikisparks · 08/06/2021 15:54

@loulamay fabulous! How exciting!

I have only bought a hand knitted pram blanket at an online auction for charity, but I’m starting to feel I’d like to buy more stuff soon- I’ve started to look online and bookmark things I like and will maybe start buying some after the 20 week scan next week. How about you?

kikisparks · 08/06/2021 15:55

How exciting for you to be 22 weeks I meant to say! More than halfway there.

loulamay · 08/06/2021 16:21

I know! Can't believe we've made it this far!!!!

I have also got a couple of wishlists, one with John Lewis and one with Amazon. There were a couple of things on Ebay that were such a bargain that I snapped them up, but just small things, and I've also bought a few clothes. I'm thinking that now all looks good I might buy some more, just to spread out the spend as well!

Mseddy · 09/06/2021 11:01

@loulamay and @kikisparks so glad both your 20 werk scans went well! And another girl! So exciting! We have a 4d scan on Tuesday because I'm getting impatient and I just want to see her face!

I'm 27 weeks now and the only thing we have left to buy is a baby monitor, just can't decide which type. Even her nursery is decorated! I finish work next week because I have a ton of annual leave saved up which is scary!! Finally feels like it's happening!

@Lepatz how are you getting on?

loulamay · 21/06/2021 18:49

@Mseddy did you choose a monitor? I got the BT one with a camera. It's a minefield out there! Also got a few deals on Amazon today because it was Prime day Smile

Had my glucose test today - you both might skip it because you're younger than me, but it wasn't too bad, just had blood taken then had to drink this syrupy stuff then wait two hours (glad I took my book!) and have blood taken again. Should get results tomorrow morning.

Quick question for you both - has anyone mentioned antenatal classes to you? I wonder if they're happening because of COVID. But lots of my friends made mates with women through their NCT classes as I recall but no-one has mentioned anything to me about it yet.

24 weeks tomorrow. Starting to find it hard to sleep with the bump so have ordered a pregnancy pillow in the hope that o can get some rest!

Mseddy · 22/06/2021 15:42

@loulamay we went for the sense u monitor with camera. I wanted something that monitored breathing just for peace of mind! I had my GTT a few weeks ago, the syrup drink was nasty!! But I passed so all good there. I hadn't heard anything about antenatal classes from my midwifery team until the HV got in touch this week and there was a leaflet for the free hospital ones in there. NCT is a private option that you don't get invited to by your midwives, you just book on yourself. It's fairly pricey, but like you said alot of people form good friendships from them. We started our NCT classes a few weeks ago and have found them useful although it's slightly annoying that they are online now!

@Lepatz how are you getting on with things?

kikisparks · 22/06/2021 18:50

@loulamay hope the result of your glucose test was ok! Nobody has mentioned antenatal classes to me. I’m not sure if I want to do them online, I get quite nervous with strangers over video and DH isn’t really into the idea. My main method of preparation so far is listening to podcasts!

Yay for you getting to 24 weeks! I have a pregnancy pillow called BB hug me but I haven’t really used it yet, it’s massive and takes up so much space even though we have a big bed!

I’m 21 weeks now and the anomaly scan last week was fine although took ages as baby wasn’t moving to the positions the sonographer wanted for the measurements. I have a low lying placenta so I’ve to go back at 32 weeks for a scan to make sure it has moved away from my cervix. Another vaginal scan, I thought my days with Wanda were behind me haha. Otherwise feeling a lot less anxious at the moment, movements still aren’t very frequent but I do feel her now and then.

loulamay · 08/07/2021 22:03

Hi gals!

Hope you're both ok @Mseddy and @kikisparks. What news?

@Mseddy I just starting watching an episode of One Born every Minute with the neonatal ward and thought of you. Nurses are amazing. Couldn't cope with the whole episode though and had to switch it off! Far too emotional!

I was 26 weeks on Tuesday. Can't believe I'm almost into my third trimester! Feeling great though, she's happily kicking away and my glucose tests came back normal too.

Sending love!

kikisparks · 11/07/2021 15:23

Hi @loulamay all good here just back from a mini break away. Glad to hear all going well for you! I’m 24 weeks now and she’s kicking a lot mornings and evenings, DH has finally been able to feel her kick. We’ve been clearing out the nursery room today, can’t believe I’ve accumulated so much junk, I need to really declutter before she gets here!

Mseddy · 12/07/2021 20:34

@loulamay funnily enough when i watch things like that on TV they make me way more emotional than I get when actually doing the job! I think it's the way they film it! Glad your GTT went well!

@kikisparks so nice that your husband can feel now too!

I'm 32 weeks on Wednesday, feels like the end is in sight! Although I did have some threats of preterm Labour last week which was scary! But all seems OK again at the moment. Fingers crossed she stays put until at least 36 weeks!

kikisparks · 31/07/2021 09:25

Not long for you now @Mseddy! Fingers crossed for you she stays put. I’m excited for when you announce she’s here!

@loulamay that’s you in the third trimester isn’t it? How is it going?

loulamay · 01/08/2021 17:37

Hi! @kikisparks @Mseddy

I am 30 weeks on Tuesday. Can't quite believe it! Had a growth scan at 28 weeks and she is pretty much bang on the 50th percentile line (just a tiny bit above) so we were happy about that. Still have my low anterior placenta so if that doesn't move it might be a c-section, but I don't mind at all. In fact don't tell anyone but the planner in me likes the idea of knowing exactly when she'll be arriving!!

Got lots of her nursery stuff now and clothes. Still need to get the car seat and pram. Keen to get the nursery set up but we need to move a big heavy sofa bed out of the space and we're waiting for my Dad to be there next week to help OH.

Time is starting to fly by!! How are you both doing? xxx

Mseddy · 04/08/2021 11:25

@loulamay that's a good mindset to have about your potential section, there is no point stressing about something you can't change!! We are pretty much all set up now. Clothes all washed, nursery all good to go! Need to have another play with the car seat just so we don't look like armatures in the hospital haha.

I'm 35 weeks now!! I did spend 2 nights in hospital over the weekend for nosebleeds! Which sounds silly and I honestly thought it was. But I lost ALOT of blood and when it wouldn't stop and I went to hospital they took it all very seriously! I was on the post natal ward which was exciting because it made me realise that we are nearly at that point!! I'm a little worried these nose bleeds are going to come back and if they do there is talk of an emergency section if they can't stop the bleeding! Honestly never thought a nosebleed could be do dramatic!!

@Lepatz how are you? I often think about how you are getting on!! X

loulamay · 05/08/2021 10:45

@Mseddy that does not sound any fun at all you poor thing! Do they know what caused it? Are you on aspirin?

I just made a list of things to do - we are going to start setting up the nursery this weekend because all of the boxes are getting on my nerves! My parents are buying us a travel system and we're seeing them next week to get it so that is exciting, because we also need to figure out the car seat!

I'm not sure Lepatz is on the thread anymore! Hope she's ok x

Mseddy · 05/08/2021 16:36

They think it's just pregnancy hormones combined with more blood volume. Nose bleeds are common in the 3rd trimester, but they aren't sure why it was so severe. I'm still feeling like crap 6 days down the line! I am on aspirin, so I had to stop that for a few days, which stressed me out because I know it's to keep the baby safe! Luckily I've not had another since, I just feel so full of cold because they cauterised so much of my nose.

Ooh exciting picking up your travel system! Mine is at my mums house 2 hours away! We kept the car seat and isofix here so we could play with them. But they say it's bad luck to have the Pram in the house, so I've left it at mums. I really want to get it all set up and ready now though! Thinking about ditching the superstition and asking her to bring it next week. Not that we will need it for a little bit after she's born anyway!!

Yeah she's not posted for a while :( the thread i was on for my first cycle I was the only active poster who didn't get pregnant. The thread carried on about pregnancies, births and is onto weaning now! And I did find it tough, but I always kept an eye on it without posting very often. So I ask after lepatz just incase she's reading at a safe distance Flowers

loulamay · 05/08/2021 17:01

You poor thing. Hope you feel better soon!

My Mum is also very superstitious but as they live 4 hours away I talked her into getting it just in case she shows up early! I don't think they let you out of the hospital without a car seat! haha. Ours has the option to be '5-point' harnessed or something but you can also buy a base that works with the Isofix thing. I thought I might try and fit it first and if it doesn't seem secure enough then we'll get the base. Did you read anywhere that the Isofix is the best way to do it? There's so much information to take in.

Mseddy · 05/08/2021 19:59

Yeah I think isofix is seen as the safest way to secure them these days. Plus it makes it much easier for getting them in and out if you have a rotating one!

kikisparks · 08/08/2021 09:11

@loulamay glad you had a great result from your growth scan. I’m getting a scan at 32 weeks to see if my low lying anterior placenta has moved, I’d prefer if it did but like you I’m fine if it has to be a C section. We’ve got a lot of the nursery done too and think I’ve bought all the clothes I need for newborn and 0-3 month stages, I’m going to see what we get as gifts before buying 3-6 months clothes. Still need to get the car seat and pram too but I know what I want.

@Mseddy that’s very stressful about the nosebleeds! I was just reading today that they can be common in 3rd trimester. I’m glad they stopped for you. That’s exciting that you’re all set up and have everything you need now.

I’m good, we had a bit of a panic last night when I realised I hadn’t felt the baby since lunchtime so ended up going into maternity assessment and waiting an hour and a half for a 2 minute heartbeat check which showed everything was fine, and then baby has been moving plenty since! I think I was just busy yesterday and not paying attention. I was also a bit worried as I’d just had the 2nd dose of the covid vaccine and been quite unwell with flu symptoms but I know that shouldn’t affect anything. I can see myself spending the rest of this pregnancy worrying about reduced movements though!

Mseddy · 10/08/2021 12:36

@kikisparks reduced movements is scary. I've been in with them 3 times now. The 3rd one was the most scary because it was during the first nosebleed and I genuinely thought we'd lost her. Driving to the hospital at 2am and I was sobbing and apologising to my husband the whole way. I think I scared the life out of him!! Luckily her CTG was fine and they had me on them twice daily once the admitted me so it was lovely and reassuring to hear her for 30 mins twice a day!!
My movements are very different now. I feel her still, but it's not kicks it's more like she's uncomfortable and trying to wiggle around but can't. She must not have much room left in there now though!! I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and sooo ready to just have her!!

kikisparks · 15/08/2021 08:31

@Mseddy sorry to hear you’ve had a few episodes of reduced movements, it is so scary isn’t it, and must have been worse with your nosebleed too.

Nearly 37 weeks for you, then you’ll be technically “at term”! Not long now! Are you on maternity leave now?

Mseddy · 17/08/2021 12:09

@kikisparks I've been off work since 32 weeks because I had alot of annual leave stored up, but my maternity leave officially starts on Monday! I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so I have my first sweep which I'm petrified about! I've been expressing colostrum for the last 2 weeks (nhs recommends from 37 weeks but because they are sweeping me early I wanted to help try and get things moving a little early). I've managed to collect about 4mls over them 2 weeks which seems small but I'm proud anyway! Currently sat bouncing on my ball hoping it gets things moving!!
How many weeks are you now?

loulamay · 04/09/2021 13:20

Have you popped yet @Mseddy ??
