I'm already symptom spotting and wondering if 1dp5dt is too early to test - haha! Of course I know it is so will try and keep myself occupied...

Congratulations @Dbrook, wonderful news!!

@Zamzam21 I thought I was a pro at the injections after 3 rounds but then last night don’t know what I did... thought I’d hit an artery and now have a massive bruise 🤣🤣 In terms of angles & just tend to Squeeze a bit of tummy roll & stick it in

HT2101 · 23/06/2020 08:56

Ps @Dbrook did you use First Response test?

Eggling · 23/06/2020 08:57

Congratulations @Ddbrook! Amazing news.

@Zamzam21 I think I did then at a slight angle but not 45 degrees. I found some more painful then others, almost as if some of them hit a nerve or something. Are you moving the injection site a bit each time?

My clinic just called, of 21 eggs 14 were mature and 12 of those have fertilised. I know those are good numbers but it's such a big drop off rate isn't it? I just hope we get some high quality enough to freeze. There's always something new to stress about it seems!

BabySweet85 · 23/06/2020 09:12

@Zamzam21 I just made sure i pinched my skin a lot so that I was injecting into fat. But some still hurt more than others. Try nit to worry.

@Eggling that is great news! Amazing number so far.

@Dbrook congratulations in your BFP 🤞

Dbrook · 23/06/2020 09:15

Thanks all!

@Pattaz2711 it’s so hard when you’ve had miscarriages in the past isn’t it, I can’t trust that this will all work out. But fingers crossed for us both.

@HT2101 didn’t use First Response, I just used an old Sainsbury’s test I had lying around.

@Eggling 12 fertilised is amazing! Great numbers.

Everhopeful35 · 23/06/2020 09:22

@Eggling Great news on getting so many eggs!! That's a fantastic result! I had a massive drop off too, if it makes you feel better - 17 eggs, 15 mature, 10 fertilised and ended up with one top notch embryo put in on day three and three blastocysts (one put in on day five, other two frozen). Your numbers are better than mine so far, so well done!

@Dbrook Congratulations on your BFP!!! So lovely to hear of people getting great results.

I'm going to try and hold out until Friday to test... I think if I do it earlier and it is negative, I'm going to lose my motivation to continue on all the drugs and there's A LOT (steroids, aspirin, Clexane, cyclogest). But don't blame anyone for testing early. I'm so tempted!

HT2101 · 23/06/2020 09:26

Thanks @Dbrook, will bear that in mind if I get to testing stage.

Wow @Eggling those are amazing numbers! How many are you planning to put in? Does your clinic let you transfer 2?

ivfgottostaypositive · 23/06/2020 09:33

@dbrook

Amazing news massive congratulations!

@Everhopeful35

Such a significant drop off is normal especially with OHSS 🤞🤞 for day 3 update

Eggling · 23/06/2020 09:34

@HT2101 no they only do single transfers so that's one less decision for me to make!

Thanks everyone, its so helpful to hear from other people who have been through this! I'm doing a lot of googling of percentages to blasto stage (and, as it's going to be FET if we get there, how to best prepare for that). I thought I'd read everything in the internet about ivf but apparently not yet.

Georgina125 · 23/06/2020 11:08

Reading this thread makes me feel so much less alone.

Of the 16 eggs, 12 fertilised and, on Day 3, 7 looked at the right stage. My transfer will be tomorrow (assuming something doesn't happen to all of them!) and I hope some will be good enough to freeze on Thursday.

I get a bit funny with speculums (PTSD from an incident which happened just before I lost my son) so I'm going to be taking a Valium to help relax me.

I managed my Clexane injection without developing a huge bruise last night but I did bleed.

Georgina125 · 23/06/2020 11:23

I told my boss what is happening so she could give me flexibility for appointments etc. Today she asked how things were and I mentioned that the success rate quoted for a single embryo transfer for my clinic is 30%. To this she exclaimed, "wow, that is so low". So very helpful of her, like I'm not aware!

takingthistooseriously · 23/06/2020 11:29

@Dbrook yay congratulations!

@Zamzam21 I also found it tricky to pinch anything as my clinic said to do them in my thigh to get the angle right. I did them all at 90 degrees and had DH check the angle for me as the one time I did it at a bit of an angle, I bled and had a massive bruise! I found the underneath near the start of my bum worked best!!

@Eggling and @Georgina125 those are great numbers!

Everhopeful35 · 23/06/2020 11:46

Just a quick tip from me on injections too. I was getting horrendous stomach bruises and the nurse who does my blood tests told me I need to apply pressure for 30 seconds afterwards. I've started doing that and already noticed a difference. x

Dbrook · 23/06/2020 11:52

@Georgina125 wow that was a tactless comment from your boss! So rude. Good luck with the transfer tomorrow, hope the Valium helps.

Georgina125 · 23/06/2020 12:05

@Dbrook Yeah, I'm not sure why she thought it would help to say that!! I've had literally 2 years of bad news and this is our big chance to have living children but that comment brought me down.

Congratulations on your good news by the way, it's amazing!!

Pattaz2711 · 23/06/2020 12:29

@Eggling I had 11 an only 5 fertilised.. well done for all those eggs..

I've phone the clinic this morning as I'm not feeling well at all.. I told them I've taken the test early as I feel like poo.. they've told me I have to still wait it out.. an told me to contact my doctors to see if they can give me something
Surely I shouldn't feel this back in this early stage... I feel like a right dramatic drama queen

@ivfgottostaypositive hey haven't seen your name just just on you xxx

Pattaz2711 · 23/06/2020 13:36

Afternoon All!

Congratulations @Dbrook! Here's to a successful 6 week scan.

Egg collection was ok today, had extra sedation so didn't feel it this time but not am I feeling it now!
Managed to get 2 eggs so let's see how tomorrow goes, not feeling overly positive

BKB27 · 23/06/2020 15:29

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Hope all transfers and tests are going well. AF is here today (first time in 3 years I've actually wanted it!). Just rang the clinic and they said to wait for a full flow before calling them again for further instructions so.im guessing if tomorrow is full (likely) I'll be starting my injections! Feel a bit lost in terms of clinic support but glad I've got this group. Going to start with meriofert, has anyone else started with this? Any tips for my DH on injecting? I've definitely got enough fat under the belly so pinching shouldnt be a problem! Good tip re the pressure @Everhopeful35 Thanks! Also big congrats @Dbrook! Sending love to you all

BabySweet85 · 23/06/2020 16:06

@Mrbay well done for getting through EC and glad you couldn’t feel anything. Congratulations on your two eggs. Is this what you were expecting? Fingers crossed for a positive phonecall tomorrow xxx

BabySweet85 · 23/06/2020 16:09

@BKB27 i started on meriofert. I did 12 days of stims. I only bruised twice and didn't have any side effects other than aching on my left side. Got EC tomorrow.

Tips for injecting - watch the video on pharmasure, pinch the skin, remember that you are a badass when doing it x

MrsLouB · 23/06/2020 16:27
