@Everhopeful35

I'm so sorry about your twin

What was your hcg? Are you 6 weeks today?

If hcg is still rising maybe everything is just too small in there to see - difference between 1mm and 3mm is so small hopefully it's just hidden away somewhere and next week it will be big enough to see

Seems like next week is going to be stressful for lots of us - I have my viability scan with Create on Tuesday and keep staring at the ultrasound photo over analysing that the sacs looks totally different in size although my uterus has gone and tilted which makes things awkward to see xx

Everhopeful35 · 10/07/2020 17:06

@ivfdreaming Thank you. It's sad about the twin but I wasn't holding out much hope as the sac for that one was so small. Just want the other one to survive now. My HCG is now at 8,800 - seems to still fit on the normal scale, according to most charts, and doctor said that when you lose a twin it can affect the HCG levels (two were producing it and now only one, so it can dip or plateau, but mine still rose). Feel like this might be one more cruel twist before I find out I've miscarried though 😔 Hope is such a dangerous thing. Sorry if my twin experience has scared you in any way - I suddenly realised it might be making you feel more anxious now. But I think you're in a much better place than I am (wasn't your HCG super high?). Wishing you so much luck for next week xx

HT2101 · 10/07/2020 18:08

@Everhopeful35 so sorry to hear about your day, gosh you’ve had a shocker. Pleased that your clinic rang back and offered what reassurance they could about your other little passenger. Hopefully you’ll be well looked after this weekend and fingers crossed for a good scan next Wednesday. X

ivfdreaming · 10/07/2020 18:22

If your hcg goes up by 50% that will take you over 10,000 tomorrow so you should definitely be able to see a heartbeat then 🤞🤞

Don't worry about making me feel anxious - I do that to myself anyway! My hcg wasn't super high but I did only have the one blood test at 8dp5dt which was 159 and then since then I got a clearblue 3+ at 16dp5dt which would suggest a standard 48 hr doubling so not super fast rises.

🤞🤞🤞 we all get good news next week xx

pattaz2711 · 10/07/2020 23:03

@Everhopeful35 sorry to hear about your day today.. how heartbreaking.. your hcg is still
Doubling which is a good sign for the little one in there for you.. I know it's hard the wait, until Wednesday fingers crossed for you.. at least your clinic is helping you a doing what they can.. thinking of you..

@HT2101 when's your egg collection hun or have I missed it?

HT2101 · 11/07/2020 10:26

@pattaz2711 hey lovely, thanks for asking. EC is booked for Monday. Only being done under sedation rather than general anaesthetic, so I’ll be asking for a big dose! Really starting to worry I won’t end up with anything.

How you doing? What time is your scan on Wednesday?

pattaz2711 · 11/07/2020 10:55

@HT2101 I've managed to speak to the hospital an there going to scan me Monday, an if it's not ok I'll be in there care, but if everything is ok I can still keep my appointment on Wednesday xx

pattaz2711 · 11/07/2020 10:57

@HT2101 p.s mine was under sedation an they watch to seee how uncomfortable you are to how much they use.. they used all of it on me in the end..
fingers crossed you get good ones.. an it's not about how many it's quantity :) good luck hun xxx

ivfdreaming · 11/07/2020 17:58

@pattaz2711

Glad you got an appointment for Monday hopefully that will give you some answers. Not long to wait now. I know I spent all weekend last week lying on the sofa wishing the days away until the Monday scan

I'm doing to same this weekend before my scan on Tuesday - should really stay off google!

Is anyone else OTD coming up/due collections/transfers? X

Dbrook · 11/07/2020 18:42

@Everhopeful35 so sorry to hear about the twin. Hope you’re ok. Have everything crossed for you for Wednesday.

@pattaz2711 @HT2101 @ivfdreaming good luck to all of you for your scans / EC on Monday.

I have my 7 week scan on Wednesday so looks like it will be an eventful week for a lot of us.

BKB27 · 11/07/2020 18:47

Hi guys, hope we are all doing OK and enjoying the somewhat nice weather. @Everhopeful35 I'm so sorry to hear your news, thinking of you and crossing everything in hope that you get good news at your next scan, im sure you will. @HT2101 good luck for your EC on Monday! I had mine on Tuesday and I was put under general anaesthetic. Just about got my legs in the stirrups before I knocked out! One tip I can give you; get yourself some constipation relief for the days following! @pattaz2711 so glad the hospital is going to scan you earlier, hope they are able to give you some reassurance x

HT2101 · 12/07/2020 07:52

Thanks @BKB27, will def take that tip on board. Interesting that your clinic used GA, I might ask mine as would rather be full asleep than just sedated!

@pattaz2711 glad you’ve got a scan booked in for tomorrow, keep us posted on how it goes.

Good luck for Wednesday @Dbrook x

BabySweet85 · 12/07/2020 08:23

@HT2101 good luck tomorrow! I was only sedated and honestly have no recollection of any of it!

@Everhopeful35 sorry to hear about the twin and hope you are feeling better today.

Today is my OTD. The test was still positive this morning so I phoned the clinic but no answer!

ivfdreaming · 12/07/2020 08:55

@BabySweet85

Great news! Congratulations! Do you get to do a blood test?
I know loads of clinics don't have anyone answering phones on a Sunday

Everhopeful35 · 12/07/2020 10:36

Thanks for your messages ladies. I've felt so stressed since Friday that when I went into the clinic for another blood test this morning, I asked for another scan. Just thought I'd rather know if it hadn't grown abc prepare for the worst. The good news is that it has grown! Not by much - it's now 3mm, but I could clearly see it on the scan whereas a couple of days ago I was struggling to see anything. It doesn't have a heartbeat yet and doctor says that it's fine - anything under 6mm is fine not to have a heartbeat. But obviously it would have been more reassuring to see one. Hope everyone else is faring up okay?

@pattaz2711 and @ivfdreaming
Wishing you so much luck for your scans tomorrow and @Dbrook I hope yours goes well on Wednesday too.

@BabySweet85 Congrats on reaching OTD and your BFP!

@HT2101 I hope egg collection goes well! Keeping everything crossed for you. I was also under GA for mine and didn't know a thing.

ivfdreaming · 12/07/2020 10:53

@Everhopeful35

Great news! What's the plan now - will you still have a scan on Wednesday? X

Everhopeful35 · 12/07/2020 10:58

@ivfdreaming They want me to do another scan on Tuesday. Praying the heartbeat is there then 🙏

ivfdreaming · 12/07/2020 11:00

@Everhopeful35

Big day Tuesday for us both? How many weeks are you now? I'm lost a bit as the days are rolling into one! 🤣

Everhopeful35 · 12/07/2020 11:11

At the clinic, they said I'm 6 weeks 1 day. I'm so nervous. Six weeks is always where it goes wrong for me. I made it to eight weeks once, but the baby had died at six weeks. Just wish I'd seen the heartbeat today! But trying to keep hopeful. Keeping my fingers crossed that we both have a positive outcome on Tuesday

BabySweet85 · 12/07/2020 14:33

The clinic phoned - my scan is 29th July which will make it 7 weeks.

When do they usually the do the next scan after that?

ivfdreaming · 12/07/2020 14:42

@BabySweet85

It will be the NHS one between 12-13 weeks

I'll probably arrange a private scan around 9 weeks as I won't be able to wait that long!

BabySweet85 · 12/07/2020 14:53

@ivfdreaming what will you find out earlier at the 9 weeks one?

ivfdreaming · 12/07/2020 16:31

@BabySweet85

Nothing really. I've had a miscarriage before at 12 weeks which I found out at the 12 weeks scan itself so I'd just feel better about having an extra scan before then as it was just an awful experience thinking everything was fine and that we'd made it that far only to get bad news when there is a waiting room of really happy other people getting good news at their scans.

Plus husband hasn't been able to come to any scans so far and I don't know if the NHS hospitals will have relaxed their rules about partners at scans by August but I know in private scan places they can come?

Also a new one has opened up practically around the corner from me and they have really good deals on at the moment 🤣

BabySweet85 · 12/07/2020 18:27

@ivfdreaming - yes that totally makes sense. I’m sorry yo hear about your previous loss. I didn’t think about DH and private scans but you’re right!

Everhopeful35 · 12/07/2020 20:01

@ivfdreaming I'm so sorry you had a loss at 12 weeks - I can't even imagine what that must have been like. I can totally understand why you would want a scan at nine weeks. It's far too long to have to wait until 12 weeks. Don't know how anyone does that!

Can I ask for some advice ladies? I've had a more promising day after seeing the fetal growth and my hormones rise (I got a call today to say they've leapt up to 16,000, so happy with that), but I've been driving myself crazy on Doctor Google. I keep worrying that a 3mm fetal pole should have a heartbeat and it's worrying me that we didn't see that. Does anyone else have any experiences or thoughts they can share? I'd like to believe this pregnancy is going in the right direction, given the hormone level and growth, but from Googling it seems that a lot of people get a heartbeat when they see a fetal pole of that size. I'm really worried.
