Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

Sorry to hear some of you ladies aren't feeling great today. I hope they are all side effects in the right direction.
I'm getting really impatient, more impatient than normal. Transfer not until 30th June (fingers crossed) feels like it us dragging to get there and the drug side effects are really starting to kick in.
Part of me wants this to be over and be pregnant or not. And part of me is thinkigntry and enjoy the process, this could be the start of our family. But on third cycle the sparkle (if there ever was one) of ivf has very much lost its shine.
I should be feeling more grateful shouldn't I to be able to do ivf? The endless waiting and lack of control is a killer though.

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 17:27

@Eggling

So sorry! I had this happen on my first cycle and I was devastated as had been preparing for so long Ivf by that point just wanted to get on with it. Because I did short cycle IVF that time and my periods are really regular my periods came back straight away and I transferred pretty much 6 weeks to the day which I think is the quickest it can happen really. Also I was doing a non medicated FET so just had to wait for my period, track my ovulation and once I had a peak OPK I transferred 5 days later x

Bestofyou1982 · 19/06/2020 17:30

@Eggling just seen your post. My first cycle was the same, as ended up with OHSS. My clinic recommended 1 natural cycle after the medicated cycle, before starting again.
I was gutted when found out so I know how you feel. Looking back though freezing was the best option as I thought I felt fine but I really was in a better position physically when it came to frozen cycle.
Hugs to you x

Eggling · 19/06/2020 17:37

Thanks everyone, I thought I'd prepared myself for this but obviously didn't do a good job because I'm gutted! I just feel like we've been waiting for so long and at every stage there's been some sort of additional hurdle. I really wanted to be pregnant before my birthday in August (I know, I know, it's daft to focus on things like that) and it's just another date that'll pass without it.

I don't tend to ovulate naturally so I don't know how a natural cycle would work. I guess I'll find out more on Monday.

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 18:17

I have so much to catch up on

@Eggling
I'm so sorry to hear your new hun.. I wish I froze my fresh one which failed As I was over stimulated. They said to me if I wanted to freeze I could start on my next cycle if I wanted to I chose to go ahead I regret it now as I was so unwell.. but I was defo told next cycle. If that's any help.. I also read some clinic as now freezing with no fresh cycles. Thinking of you my sweet..

@MrsLouB thinking of you my sweet...

@ivfgottostaypositive hope everything goes ok

BabySweet85 · 19/06/2020 18:59

My left side is really uncomfortable and aching on day 9 of stim. Do you think this is normal?

elleceedee · 19/06/2020 21:09

@BabySweet85 that sounds pretty normal, just your body reacting to the meds and follicles growing I think. I found stims to be very uncomfortable especially by the end as my ovaries were huuuuge! Hope it's not too uncomfortable, just make sure you're drinking lots of water.

@Eggling I understand you must be disappointed but at least with a FET your body will have calmed down a bit and you'll be in a great position to go ahead. I know that feeling of passing milestones and thinking 'I'm not pregnant yet' and it's tough so I hope you can do the FET soon after. I think most clinics want you to have at least one period after EC before FET but I could be wrong.

elleceedee · 19/06/2020 21:22

@Mrbay glad your scan went well! Sounds like you had a nice time with your friend as well - you sound like a lovely friend! One of my friends announced her pregnancy a little while ago - bittersweet as we were pregnant at the same time back with my DD and we always said it would be lovely to experience that again together. I've found seeing updates of her pregnancy quite hard.

@MrsLouB OTD tomorrow so at least you'll have a definite answer one way or another. My clinic say even with BFN to carry on meds and test again after 48 hours... I didn't do this last time as it felt pointless so just stopped meds on OTD but then I didn't even get a whiff of a line.

@HT2101 that is incredible about your friend! Stories like that really do give me hope so thank you for sharing!

@takingthistooseriously good news about get your scan date, how exciting!

@ivfgottostaypositive just reading that your progesterone level was 140 on day of transfer - that's brilliant! I think mine was 45 last time and was BFN (they didn't measure it on any of my other cycles) so I'm hoping it improves this time.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has their progesterone tested on transfer day and what your levels were?

Hope everyone else doing ok! I'm NOT enjoying the cyclogest pessaries but really looking forward to ET on Monday - finally!!!

EffortIsSuccess20 · 19/06/2020 21:31

Hi all, Hope we are okay this evening. D10 scans update ; 6 follicles 4 above 14mm &small ones. Lining 8.9mm (baseline is 8mm before EC).Double Trigger Saturday night & EC on Monday morning . Fx we get some good quality for an ET.

@Pattaz2711 how are you this evening & sorry for the cramping .
@ivfgottostaypositive happy for you darling . FX for a sticky BFP.
@MrsLouB sorry you are feeling low dear .yes It hurts and we are all thinking about you ...you re not out yet .
@Mrbay - good luck too with EC on Tuesday. Nice tip on the bowel 👍🏿.
@Eggling- sorry for the news darling , good luck with trigger this weekend &EC .

Strange my clinic have not done any hormonal tests, I should ask.

@BabySweet85 - my scan today the nurse also wasn’t able to find my left ovary but it had 2 gd follicles earlier...might be a surprises on EC to get good ones from the hidden ovary . I have had cramps from D9 and when I asked the consultant he said it’s just the follicle growing but it’s good to call the clinic- I read timing for ovulation trigger is important .

Sorry for any missed updates and thinking of all the lovely ladies. Sending my good wishes to all on stims ,tests , scan and triggers for EC. Nice weekend and let’s be kind to ourself .

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 21:40

@EffortIsSuccess20 good luck for Monday that's good news an hopefully you will have some lovely beautiful eggs..
Are you doing a fresh cycle afterwards??
I'm ok thanks hun.. still cramping like period pains. What are you doing this weekend.. hope your being kind to yourself..

@Mrbay google luck Tuesday

@Eggling good luck hun

I keep missing everyone's updates an feel really rude an ignorant my phone doesn't catch up on all updates I'm so sorry..

Hope everyone has a lovely evening an weekend.

EffortIsSuccess20 · 19/06/2020 21:43

@elleceedee good luck with ET on Monday dear. Hope you started off well in the new role.

Cyclogest there was a post that rectum is the way to go for lesser symptoms . You may give it a try and see.

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 21:48

@elleceedee

I specifically requested they check progesterone as despite having recurrent miscarriages I think the assumption has always been if I'm on the cyclogest then it should be working but a friend of mine had a transfer the same week at Create last year and they checked hers and turns out she wasn't absorbing it so had to go on Lubion injections and she got her BFP and my cycle failed. When I asked this time round they said they normally only check it if you don't have periods/they are irregular or you have spotting mid cycle. But as I'm paying they couldnt really say no and it was one less thing to worry about!

HT2101 · 19/06/2020 21:52

@elleceedee I’ve never had my progesterone levels checked on transfer day... think I will ask about that if I get to that stage this time. Good luck for ET Day, how many passengers are you going to get on board? Xx

EffortIsSuccess20 · 19/06/2020 21:53

@Pattaz2711 let’s be positive it’s implantation this time around, each cycle is different .
Thanks and yes Fx we get few good quality ones for ET. Am dreading the embryologist calls from next week , but trying to focus on the EC for now.

The IVF process is tough and the ladies here are tough&strong it’s amazing . I pat you all

BabySweet85 · 19/06/2020 22:09

@elleceedee thanks - i find water really difficult to drink! Need to be more mindful of drinking it.

@EffortIsSucces20 - so strange they can’t see the left one. Thanks for the reassurance. Fingers crossed all goes well on Monday! I will be thinking of you.

elleceedee · 19/06/2020 22:10

@HT2101 I'm just having a single transfer. I've only got two embryos left and im not ready for it to be over if both failed on the same transfer. Im 40 and we are already so lucky to have DD so my husband is adamant we would not do another cycle. If it was up to me I'd do another round and try and get some more in the freezer but he is really against it so I have made peace with that and just have to hope that we get lucky with these two final embryos.

@EffortIsSuccess20 thank you that's sweet of you - haven't started new role properly yet and I've asked to wait until July to go into the office so I can get at least some of my 2ww out of the way at home!

HT2101 · 19/06/2020 22:26

@elleceedee Great that you’ve got two, only takes one! 😉 I turn 40 in January and putting so much pressure on myself to try & be pregnant by then. Will be keeping everything crossed for you on Monday 🤞🏻

Pattaz2711 · 20/06/2020 07:35

@all morning everyone how is everyone?

I've had the worst stomach cramps all night an all in my left side.. I'm feeling so negative now..

Eggling · 20/06/2020 07:38

Thanks for everyone's kind words - I had a good mope last night and feel a bit better today. It's disappointing but nothing to be done! I'm going to spend the time between egg collection and transfer getting as fit as I can to give me a focus and hopefully build a good foundation for pregnancy 🤞

I hope everyone is doing alright this morning?

MrsLouB · 20/06/2020 08:15

Morning @all i hope everyone is well. So today is OTD and i took the test the clinic gave me which is an ALERE easy pregnancy test a different one to the ones they gave before and blue dye. Now you read it after 3 mins and before 10mins but there was another very very faint line there but i dont know if i trust it. If it was a viable on the line would be more prominent then very very very faint xx ill contact the clinic shortly. Oh and i have the worst cramps last night and today so im not holding onto any hope at all xxx

ivfgottostaypositive · 20/06/2020 08:18

@MrsLouB

I've never heard of that brand? Have you got any more first responses? X

MrsLouB · 20/06/2020 08:24

@ivfgottostaypositive its a brand i think you can only buy medical

Yeah i have to going take one in a moment but i know i can see a very very faint blue line so will take a frer and settle it x

HT2101 · 20/06/2020 08:32

@MrsLouB A line however faint still means you’re in this. Does your clinic offer a blood test..? 🤞🏻 Xx

HJF84 · 20/06/2020 08:32

Morning all

It's hard to catch up on all the updates from yesterday. Lots of activity, so sorry if I've missed anything

@eggling I'm sorry it's not good news for his cycle, but for some, frozen embies have more success, and I hope that's true for you

@mrsloub Add a pic and we'll see if we can see what you see, but if you have another FRER, I'd definitely check that. I read a blog about a lady who had BFN until 11dp5dt when she had blood work done.

@pattaz2711 I have low AMH so I've only ever done mild or natural modified cycles. I've collected 14 eggs from 4 cycles - 2 have made it to blasto and 2 were implanted before blasto stage, including the one on board now. The two that did make it to blasto were not great quality, 5BC and 4CC so I think my chances of using my own eggs are rapidly decreasing.

I appreciate that donor eggs are not for everyone, and it totally breaks my heart that they won't genetically be mine, but as I don't have my own children, I'll have nothing to compare that love too, so I totally get the comments from those who have children already.

No symptoms today. My sore boobs have subsided, I know they were sore from the trigger shot, and my thirst is now back down to normal levels.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

MrsLouB · 20/06/2020 08:46

Thanks ladies i feel i have line eye and am making out lines when maybe there are not any ive also just taken a frer and now im done the wiser lol im going go with bfn
