Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

How you doing today @MrsLouB? Hope you managed to get some sleep. Xx

@Pattaz2711 have your cramps eased a little?

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 07:57

@HT2101 not really last night was quite painful an my lower back aswell.. this happened last time so not feeling hopeful

How are you today x

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 08:00

@Pattaz2711

I tested out my trigger shot so was pretty much testing daily from 2DP5DT - I got a visible BFP at 3DP5DT

My clinics standard official test day via a blood test is always 9DP5DT (but if I wanted to test at home with a urine test it's 11DP5DT) which is one of the earliest I've heard of compared to other clinics but if you think about it that is technically 14DPO when you'd expect to miss your period anyway and home tests are pretty much 100% accurate from that date

I went in a day early because I couldn't go in today because of work

It is a risk though testing early as I've had positives before at 3DP5DT that have been negative the next morning x

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 08:04

@ivfgottostaypositive I tested early last time.. like you tested out the trigger shot an then got the BFP.. when I read yours 3dp5dt especially with mine hatching thought shall I do one lol.. My OTD is the 1st July. Honestly I'm so happy for you.. xx

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 08:07

@Pattaz2711

Thankyou! I have no will power and just felt like I needed to do something to prepare myself if it was a BFN. Still a long way to go x

Everhopeful35 · 19/06/2020 08:08

@Pattaz2711 I'm booked in for a blood test on the 27th. My clinic (ARGC) have a 12-day wait until the test. I guess everyone does it slightly differently. It doesn't worry me really because I've always had a natural12-day luetal period anyway. I had two embryos put in - one on day 3, one on day 5

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 08:12

@ivfgottostaypositive I thought I had will power but I actually haven't which test did you use?? I've prepared for BFN an already planning the next treatment lol..
I wish we could all meet up we've all become such good cycle buddies lol..

@Everhopeful35 mine don't do blood test it's just home pregnancy test that it.. I paid last time privately for a blood test.. but nothings open this time lol..

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 08:19

@Pattaz2711

I would only use first response if you are going to test really early x

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 08:22

@ivfgottostaypositive I've ordered a few of those an good job I called my nurse today the lubion injections one told me I had to take it today an it's actually tomz I have to take it..

HJF84 · 19/06/2020 09:35

Morning all

No testing for me today, although I'm 7dp3dt today so I'm sure I'd get a result today off a FRER, if I had any.

No noticeable symptoms, still have the dry mouth and excessive thirst, who knows?

Like @Pattaz2711 I'm already thinking about our next steps, whether I try another cycle with my own eggs or switch to donor eggs.

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 09:40

@HJF84 stomach cramps are still there.... an I'm so emotional today..
when do you think you will test.. I've started to get excess thirst last night in the night an this morning.. how many eggs last time sorry I lose track.

MrsLouB · 19/06/2020 10:07

@HT2101 thank you yeah sleeping ok still having early wake ups becos of the meds,

@HJF84 from what i remember you where always good at waiting to test do your clinic do bloods?

@ivfgottostaypositive its funny as i was reading your post re levels and the last FET on the clear blue i got 1-2 weeks and bloods of 337 and 2-3 weeks when my blood level was 8000 so it is very strange how it varies from people to people maybe it shows in some urine better than others. But great news when is your next one.

@Pattaz2711 Sorry to hear about the cramping it is pretty normal for most as the drugs can play a big part of that too.

ive been pretty angry over the last few days we have been on this journey now for 14 years natural and ivf and this was our final go we have no more funds and they clinic said the next would be Donner eggs due to my age and the very low AMH levels.. So tomorrow will be our OTD and i probably have more chance of winning the lotto tonight which i may just put on some numbers.

Have a great day @all with your scans tests and generally well being big hugs

Dbrook · 19/06/2020 10:09

Morning. I’m just a day behind you @HJF84, trying to work out when is the earliest I can test too.

My only symptoms are that my boobs are huge and really tender but I know that’s just from the progresterone as I get it in my normal cycle too.

I’m also thinking ahead to what we do when this round fails! I should really try to be more positive. Can’t decide whether to try a different clinic or stay with ABC while I still fit their criteria.

How many rounds have you done with your own eggs @HJF84? Does your clinic have any advice on when to move to donor?

Dbrook · 19/06/2020 10:19

@MrsLouB I’m so sorry you’re having such a rough time. 14 years is an incredibly long time. Sending love xx

BabySweet85 · 19/06/2020 10:19

Hi all

Just got back from my day 9 scan on short protocol. They found 8 follicles on my right ovary. This is an increase as every other baseline scan I've had they have told me I only have 2 or 3. I’m not sure if this is response to stims or the lifestyle changes I have made from the book I was reading.

Unfortunately they couldn’t find my left ovary at all. They got a second nurse in to try but no clear picture. They thought they might have saw something but it had nothing on it so have booked me in again for Sunday to have another look.

Two questions:

  1. has anybody else had an increase in follicle count from what the doctors initially told you, you would get?
  1. Anybody ever had a scan where they can’t find an ovary?!

@MrsLouB

Big hugs your way x

@Pattaz2711 sorry to hear about cramping but lets keep fingers crossed its good cramping x

MrsLouB · 19/06/2020 10:30

@Dbrook thank you xx

@BabySweet85 thanks hun in regards to the increase in follicle count i had more than they thought i had and saw when it also came to collection, but ive only been through that stage once.

Also they always had trouble finding my left ovary and could not really see it or the follicies which is why also maybe i had more when it came to collection. It was strange as on a normal scan they find it but at that stage with the sweliing and it being close to the bowel it can sometimes hide x

BabySweet85 · 19/06/2020 10:32

@MrsLouB thank you for the reassurance x

Pattaz2711 · 19/06/2020 10:34

@BabySweet85 I did I was an egg sharer at one point in my cycle an was told I had 10 eggs when egg collection came the got 22 eggs from me..

@MrsLouB I still have hope as we seen a line.. I really hope this happens for you I really do.. sending big hugs

MrsLouB · 19/06/2020 10:47

@Pattaz2711 aw thank you sweets i know and would i love a miracle yes i would but the likely hood of getting a positive later after the negative 8dpt5pt is so very very slim believe me i have looked and looked , Also the line i had on my last cycle at that time was clear,. I believe although we all could see something it was probably an indent line... i would be jumping for joy if not xxxx

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 11:11

@MrsLouB

Sorry you're feeling angry and down. I did have a moment last year when I thought about donor eggs but the cost is so much higher than a standard cycle and we decided it wasn't for us already having a DD.

What clinic are you with? Have you thought about trying a cycle of natural IVF or natural modified with a clinic like Create who specialise in women with low AMH and have the best success rates for older women?

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 11:13

@babysweet85

I've always tracked my follicle growth and I've only ever got mature eggs from follicles 14+ on day of trigger. I've never had any extra ones that have suddenly grown between day of trigger and egg collection

One of my ovaries is stuck to my uterus with scar tissue so can often be hard to find and they have to push really hard on my stomach to make it visible

takingthistooseriously · 19/06/2020 11:17

@MrsLouB I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it, you're totally entitled to feel angry. it is incredibly unfair in life that some people can have what they want easily and for others it is a real battle. I still have my fingers crossed for you though

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 11:18

@dbrook

After 2 failed cycles last year I wasn't sure whether to stay with Create but decided that at least they knew my history and I wanted to take less drugs and target fewer follicles not more (I'd have most likely gone down the long protocol route with another clinic). It is a gamble. The good thing with ABC is that it's cheap BUT it's nurse led isn't it? I think if I had been the opposite and wanted to target MORE follicles because I thought that would give me the best odds then I would have explored long protocol.

That being said after this months egg collection where I got 2 poor quality eggs and didn't get any blastocysts I do admit to emailing a couple of other clinics to get their price lists. And I had a real crisis of confidence that we'd done the right thing by dropping to natural modified instead of trying to get as many eggs as possible

MrsLouB · 19/06/2020 11:19

hi @ivfgottostaypositive to be honest i havent looked into it DH doesnt want to do it as he is said it is like him having a baby with someone else. i guess i was so hopeful like the clinic where as we had success last cycle and everything was so much better this time round.

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 11:34

@MrsLouB

I have to say that was the conclusion we also came to. I think I only looked at him really as it's me who can't have children now. Someone once told me that because we are born with all the eggs we'll ever have then we start life inside of our grandmothers and I admitted to DH that I didn't think I would look at a donor egg baby the same way as my DD especially if it was another girl. Also my parents can barely support IVF as they are quite religious and think it's playing "god" and would absolutely not have supported us using donor eggs

I know it's right for lots of people just not us x
