Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

@Pattaz2711 OTD is Monday, and it's a blood test. I've thought about testing beforehand but I've decided against it. I have to head to London for the blood test and my enthusiasm to go would wilt if I'd already had a BFN. On Monday, I'll be 10dp3dt, and it's actually the day AF would be due to start, according to my app.

How painful is it? I had a few cramps and twinges but nothing too painful, more like a 2 or 3 out of ten.

Just1MoreThing · 17/06/2020 21:49

For anyone who has had an Embryo Transfer, did anyone feel a burning sensation afterwards? I’m 1dp5dt and have quite a strong uncomfortable burning which is making me concerned re infection. I’ve had sharp cramps which I believe to be a good sign, not heard of anyone having the burning before? Thanks

HT2101 · 17/06/2020 22:01

@EffortIsSuccess20 that is impressive! You put me to shame, I’ve been googling where to buy it from.

@Mrbay whereabouts in the process are you up? I’m still waiting for Mother Nature to turn up and stressing about EC already.

Mrbay · 17/06/2020 22:15

@Just1MoreThing - never had a burning sensation, I think that a question for the nurses in the morning could be anything from thrush, UTI or something else.

@Ht2101 - I'm on day 8 of stims with 1st scan on Friday to see how they are doing, starting to stress as I am doubtful that
I'll get anything but I've been downing the supplements and protein like they are going out of fashion!!

Anyone else getting twitchy about a haircut, if this time is successful, I won't be able to have my hair done until August or after! It's got so long and heavy, I think I'm ready for a good 3/4 inches to go!! I know the IVF is far more important but the weight of it is giving me headaches.

HT2101 · 17/06/2020 22:21

Ooo good luck for Friday @Mrbay, sending positive vibes for lots of supplement/protein full follicles!

I’m with you on the haircut dilemma... at least it’s giving me a non-ivf thing to worry about which makes a change. Hopefully all the drugs won’t make me do something drastic with a pair of scissors myself. 😱

Pattaz2711 · 17/06/2020 22:32

@HJF84 is London far from you.. does that mean you have to go twice for testing?

It's a weird pain ive got I don't really know how to explain it but it hurts lol.. prob like 4-5

My test date is not until the 1st.. I was so sure this time Nope I'll be fine If it happens if happens but as the day has gone on it's like forever lol.. I think last time I was so sure it was going to happen an then that BFN came up.. no I've got in my head it's not going to..
I think it would be better if I had friends an family around me even tho they don't know about it.. it takes your mind off it getting out..

I've been drinking pomegranate juice an lots of water I've changed to decaf tea..

How are you feeling about it all?

@Mrbay my hair is literally down my back.. hubby is ok as I'm a hairdresser he has such thick curly hair he would of looked like a bear in the woods.. how comes you won't be able to get it done until august xx

Pattaz2711 · 18/06/2020 07:35

Morning how are we all @all this morning I've woken with sharp stabbing an cramping

MorgenMuffel · 18/06/2020 07:41

@Pattaz2711 congrats on being PUPO.

@HJF84 I started being insanely thirsty a couple of days before my BFP so fx its a good sign for you

@Mrbay hope the scan goes well tomorrow. I think I have missed something, but why no haircut till August?

Mrbay · 18/06/2020 07:56

@HT2101, @Pattaz2711 & @41MorgenMuffel - thanks for the well wishes for tomorrow. Getting real now!
Regarding the hair cut, I'm going to be on steriod so need to be careful and if this round works I don't want to do anything risky until the 6-week scan or longer.
I know in my town the risk is pretty low but I don't want to chance it just in case.

Right I must get up and down Aldi, they've got their wagu steaks in today and I will have a nice steak before it's too late! I have mine rare so it's not advised in the tww or in pregnancy at all.

Morning everyone @Pattaz2711 sorry you're in pain, fingers crossed it's implantation!

I'm grumpy this morning, feeling a bit uncomfortable and I've been up since 4.30 as something in the street started beeping and hasn't stopped! Got some work calls to get through then I'm hoping to squeeze in a nap this afternoon. Hoping I'll know at my scan tomorrow morning when egg collection will be as DH needs to sort work out so he can be at home afterwards. I'm expecting Monday or Tuesday I think.

Mrbay · 18/06/2020 10:28

@eggling - I wonder if we'll have EC at the same time?
I hate early wake ups, especially by annoying noise, hope you manage to get a nap in.

ivfgottostaypositive · 18/06/2020 10:52

@pattazz2712

🤞 these are implantation pains you're are feeling!

@just1morething

I've only ever had burning with a UTI. That being said I've heard of some people talk about "lightening crotch" (great turn of phrase!) after embryo transfer so maybe it's the same thing?

I've just been in for my OTD blood test this morning although I'm doing it a day early (8dp5dt) as cant do tomorrow. This morning I got 2-3 weeks on a clearblue digital (so hcg must be over 153 already) hoping for a good high number when I get my call back this afternoon

HT2101 · 18/06/2020 11:17

@ivfgottostaypositive great news things are still progressing!

@Pattaz2711 I’d take your cramps as a good sign 🤞🏻

@Mrbay Hope you got your Wagyu... got visions of you racing down the aisle screaming ‘woman on stims, stay back’... 🤣

Mrbay · 18/06/2020 11:43

@ivfgottostaypositive - that's great news!! Do they repeat the bloods again?

@ht2101 - I couldn't find them on my first trip down the one way system, I was very annoyed!! So had to look back and then found them!! Someone was dithering over the shelf when I walked passed first, I swear the rules should include, shoppers are only allowed in with a list!!
They'll be tomorrow night's tea as tonight's a quick trip to Ikea for shoe storage to stop the puppy was destorying my shoe collection!!!

OP posts:
HJF84 · 18/06/2020 11:52

@pattaz2711 I'm about 25 mins by train, just annoying really!

@MorgenMuffel Ooh that's good to know. Remind me, are you taking lubion and inhixa/clexane too? I read somewhere that it could be the high amount of progesterone?

@ivfgottobepositive Eek so exciting! Fingers crossed for a sticky one.

It's been a week since ET for me. Slowest week ever! No unusual symptoms, just the early morning wake ups and night sweats. I feel a pulling down below, but I've felt that with my other cycles. Only unusual thing is the excessive thirst! I keep googling it and reading how this lead to people's BFP's, but as I had a 3dt Implantation could still be happening, so I think it's too early to get my hopes up

shazzz1xx · 18/06/2020 12:04

@HJF84

Hiya, hope your well... I tested 6days past my 3dt and it’s was positive... also i wouldn’t symptom spot as i never felt a thing for months.. infact most of the time i didn’t even feel pregnant only when baby was moving in the last months of pregnancy..

Good luck for when you test x

shazzz1xx · 18/06/2020 12:08

There were my tests... day 6 & 7 preg test not there as I was at work when tested.. so don’t know what happened to them... I would have probably been in a big scared / excited bubble as it was positive and never thought of saving them lol x

elleceedee · 18/06/2020 12:52

@ivfgottostaypositive good luck for your blood results this afternoon - will be interesting to see how high your HCG is... I have a feeling that both have implanted!

@shazzz1x thank you for sharing your tests - so if you got a positive at 6dp3dt is that the equivalent of 4dp5dt? That's great that you had a positive so early!

@HJF84 the thirst is definitely a good sign - I had this with my pregnancy with DD but didn't even really think about it as a symptom until afterwards. I was easily drinking 3 litres of water a day!

@Eggling hope you get a good nap in this afternoon!

@MrsLouB hope you're doing ok. Thinking of you.

@Pattaz2711 how are you feeling now? That definitely sounds like implantation to me!

My DH decided to take the day off and he has taken DD out for the morning so I've had a good clean of the house, done some batch cooking for the freezer and now about to sit with my feet up (the wall) with my book for a bit. Absolute bliss! I'd forgotten how grim taking cyclogest is!

ivfgottostaypositive · 18/06/2020 13:06

@mrbay

No they just do the one blood test but there is a private maternity place near my house that also does them. but to be honest last year I paid for extra tests and my hcg was doubling almost daily and it still ended in an ectopic so I don't think I'll do it this time. I'm just going to do the odd clearblue - track when I get a 3+ compared to previous pregnancies etc

I should be under the care of the recurrent miscarriage clinic and outside of covid would get fortnightly scans from 6 weeks so am hoping they are still going to offer that

HJF84 · 18/06/2020 13:11

@shazzz1xx Ooh that's interesting. Who knows? I'm not going to test, I'm just going to wait for the blood test.

@elleceedee Ah I hope you're right 🤞🏼

I'll know before I go anyway, I wear an iWatch and it monitors my heart rate. Last time, I knew it hadn't worked as my resting heart rate wasn't increasing, and this is a sign. Anyone else have a wearable device for HR tracking?

ivfgottostaypositive · 18/06/2020 13:25

@HJF84

This is the first time I've worn a Fitbit which tracks testing heart rate and I can tell you that mine hasn't increased at all.

It's usually around 65-68 and the day after egg collection it was 72 (presumably a sign my body is repairing itself) and then ever since getting a BFP it's stuck at 68. Id say my "average" heart rate may be higher as I can hear it banging in my ear at the smallest activity which is usually a sign of pregnancy for me or could just be a sign of how unfit I'm getting after spending 2 weeks on the sofa. but no real change to resting heart rate

Pattaz2711 · 18/06/2020 13:30

@HJF84 I haven't heard of tracking hHR .. what time is your appointment.

@ivfgottostaypositive good new it's still progressing. Eptopic is that what your last one was sorry to hear that

@elleceedee @HJF84 @HT2101 @Mrbay
@ivfgottostaypositive do you think even if I had the transfer at 1pm? That quick.. I'm so not positive I don't know why.. I was thinking this two weeks will be fine now I'm twitching lol.. it's gonna go soooo slow..

@all how are you all feeling this afternoon.. the weather is crap an depressing here..

I've had soup for snacks an salmon for lunch never had salmon as didn't think I would like it but it actually really nice.. am
I to late trying to get the vitamins in? Hubby's at work an I'm stuck on my own bored.. so I've down loaded starz to watch The Act.. lol

shazzz1xx · 18/06/2020 13:34

@elleceedee
those test are from 2018 that’s the year i did 2 full cycles of icsi.. my little one is 1 next month... I suppose it’s equivalent to 4dp5dt but I never have 5dt only 3dt
Good luck all x

ivfgottostaypositive · 18/06/2020 13:40

@Pattaz2711

Yes unfortunately I had an ectopic after a second IVF transfer last year (which was also a double transfer). I'd already lost one tube the year before to an ectopic and because the baby had a heartbeat they had to take my last tube.

Pattaz2711 · 18/06/2020 13:48

@ivfgottostaypositive omg goodness, you have been though it..
I don't even know you can have eptopic with ivf.. they don't tell you that a the clinic.. I'm so sorry xx
