Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

@HJF84 they mentioned some tests at pur follow up from our failed fresh cycle but that they wouldn't recommend at this stage as the cause of faliure likely to be down to the DNA of that embryo rather than anything else. We have "unexplained" infertility though so in my mind it would make sense to be an issue with implantation, but appreciate I could be putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. Fx the extra injection makes the difference for you x

Welcome @BM2020 not long for you now till you start. With my down reg I had a few headaches and bloating, but largely ok. I had a nasal spray which tasted disgusting, but soon got into the routine of doing it. Fx all goes smoothly for you

Welcome @Tigerlily99 @UncleBrynsfishingtrip 👋 looks like the two of you are on very similar timescales!

I'm feeling very anxious about my scan tomorrow and that stupid mucous still being in my uterus and Tuesday's transfer being cancelled ☹ Have felt so mentally unprepared for this surprise cycle but trying to stay positive... it's going to be a sleepless night here.

@MorgenMuffel

Good luck for your scan tomorrow. Try and get some sleep if you can 🤞🙏🏻💗 xx

@MorgenMuffel

I had this with my first cycle - a sign of elevated e2 levels which left unchecked could lead to OHSS. Unfortunately I did have to have a freeze all. But the doctors said the amount of mucus would have significantly reduced success rates so it was for the best x

@MorgenMuffel good luck with your scan. Let us know how you get on xx

I'm starting the pill this week in advance of my next cycle. If only I could remember how long it takes AF to show up after stopping I'd have some idea of start date. It's been many years since I last took it Confused

@Wesstywoo

Been years since I was last on the pill but I used to take microgynon- a 21 day one and pretty sure used to get a withdrawal bleed within 2 weeks of stopping

@MorgenMuffel Good luck for your scan today! Let us know how you get on. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

@Wesstywoo Back in the days when I was on the pill, I would bleed about 2/3 days after I stopped taking it, but that was a good ten/twenty years ago! My body worked a little better then that's for sure

What's everyone's thoughts on exercise during IVF? Create always advise no exercise other than a brisk walk and I've adhered to that in my other three cycles, which impacted by mental health for sure. I'm considering doing some low impact classes, maybe a paracise or dance class. I'd love to know other people's thoughts. I don't start meds until at least day 5 so I'm going to get a few classes in before then 👍🏻

Wesstywoo · 25/05/2020 09:10

Thanks ladies, I'm only taking it for 12 days and I was thinking maybe approx 3 days or so.

@HJF84 my previous clinic advised light exercise (after transfer) however I'm now with Create too and I do find them a lot more diligent! I'm sure something like a dance class will be ok

Hey All, sorry I didn't get any notifications.

Lots of exciting updates!

@HJF84 - it's a fresh cycle, it's no excerise as you could twist an ovary, but during my cycles I've continued to ride my horse. I figure that lots of woman continue life as normal as they don't know that they are carrying an embryo.

I've had a horrible dream that I get to EC and there is nothing there. Last time was a miracle as we got 3 eggs and all 3 made it to day 5.

I'm on my 2nd fresh cycle and this will be my last go, we're very lucky that we've got funding for 3 cycles and all frozen transfers but I'm tired of having my life on hold and the emotional roller coaster.

Ref the pill, I'm currently on it and I have a bleed within a few days of stopping.

@HJF84 @Wesstywoo @UncleBrynsfishingtrip thank you all, I read your messages as I was waiting to go in for my scan and it helped keep me nice and calm 😊

The good news is that there was no fluid to be seen 😁 My lining a bit thinner than before but they said that is normal for this stage, they explained the progesterone makes it compact (like a squeezing a sponge) in preparation for the embryo. It was still above the 7mm they need though at 7.5, so all ok to go ahead with transfer tomorrow 👍

@ivfgottostaypositive thanks for sharing, interesting to know its down to e2. My clinic said that it was normal but didnt really explain what the cause was. Sorry it led to your tranfer being cancelled though. I'm so lucky it has happened on a frozen cycle.

@westywoo my clinic advises its fine to carry on with exercise your body is normally used to doing (as long as its not extreme like marathon trianing or similar!) but not to suddenly start doing something you've never done before.

You're right though, looking after your mental wellbeing through all of this is so important.

Hi guys, hoping I can join? I am due to start my first cycle of IVF end of June. Having blood tests again next week. All my medication has been delivered. I have to say, I am frightened! No idea how the medication will affect me and I'm scared of another loss (2 losses in 6 months, 3 years of ttc). I have been looking into taking low dose aspirin but dont want this to negatively affect the medication. Has anyone else looked into taking low dose aspirin?

Report
takingthistooseriously · 25/05/2020 12:08

@BKB27 welcome! I can't help with aspirin unfortunately and sorry to hear you're feeling nervy, I think that's very understandable given your losses. I'm probably not the person to ask about how you'll feel on meds as I'm currently on day 6 of stims and feeling awful! Hopefully you'll do better!

@MorgenMuffel that's such good news on your scan!

Report
ivfgottostaypositive · 25/05/2020 13:27

@BKB27 I took low dose aspirin only with my DD and from 12 weeks but I was under specialist care. I attend a recurrent miscarriage clinic and have asked previously about taking it after ovulation/IVF transfer and they said no. It's only for those who have a confirmed medical need otherwise it can actually increase risk of miscarriage

I do take clexane blood thinning injections as part of my IVF protocol though

@morgenmuffel

Great news!

I'm the opposite and last time had a liking 10.5mm plus which is borderline too thick 😢 so anxious wait for Me in a couple of weeks time

I'm booked in for my first scan on Wednesday which will be cycle day 4 and also the day I start stims - egg collection likely to be the end of next week

Thanks for the response @takingthistooseriously. I hope you feel better soon and everything goes well. I wish so much that we all get to see our babies soon!

@ivfgottostaypositive thanks for your response. This was my worry. I think because both miscarriages were 'unexplained' and technically not recurrent as you have to have more than 3 (madness!) I've not been advised to take aspirin, I've just read about it a lot of different forums etc.
