Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

Congrats @Everhopeful35 on your transfer AND your 6 Frosties. I know it’s nerve wracking but that’s such a lovely position to be in. Plus it takes the pressure off your current passenger a little bit... x

Everhopeful35 · 15/06/2020 17:19

Thank you for all the support. I really appreciate it! This is my first time doing IVF and I have absolutely no bench mark as to what is good/bad and we've only told our parents we're doing this, so the extra support from everyone here is so nice.

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I can't help you on down regging. I didn't respond to the drugs (my hormones went up instead of down) so they put me on a short protocol in the end. But I think they are seeing whether the ovaries are 'quiet' (no follicles growing) at the scan. My clinic always do a scan and blood test, and the hormone levels on the blood test are the ultimate decider. When my hormones rose and they took me off the down regulation drugs, my scan looked fine - no activity at all! But hormones were high.

@elleceedee I know what you mean about lining concerns. I thought the lining had to be about 9 or 10mm but mine was 8.5 at transfer this morning and they seemed happy... so what do I know?!

Bestofyou1982 · 15/06/2020 18:27

So lovely to be seeing some positives @ivfgottostaypositive and @takingthistooseriously.

Hope you are feeling brighter today @HJF84?

How is everyone doing today ladies?
Any advice on what I should/shouldn't be eating/drinking to boost my chances this time around? Currently at point of developing lining ready for FET.

Bestofyou1982 · 15/06/2020 18:30

And congrats @Everhopeful35.
I'd missed your great news until just.:-)

Pattaz2711 · 15/06/2020 18:45

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip
down reg scan they see if it's nice an quite have you started your period??
Are you having a frozen transfer? Xx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 15/06/2020 19:42

Yep I’ve started period and yep it will be a frozen transfer xx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 15/06/2020 19:43

Hope you are feeling brighter now after your house blitz @Pattaz2711

elleceedee · 15/06/2020 19:51

Thanks for all the reassurance about lining thickness ladies, I definitely feel a bit more relaxed about it.

@Bestofyou1982 I've heard Brazil nuts, pomegranate juice, beetroots (and beetroot juice but honestly that's like drinking soil so I wouldn't recommend!), blueberries are all recommended to build lining... I'm not sure how much of it I believe though! I think as long as you're cutting down on caffeine, being reasonably sensible about what you eat and exercising to get blood flow to the uterus then that's all you can do! As advised already on here, legs up against the wall is a good one to get blood flow to the uterus! I've been trying to do a bit of yoga every other day (I really like Yoga with Adrienne but there are lots of fertility specific ones too) and walking our dog too.... But my lining as measured this morning was 7.2mm whereas on the cycle that resulted in my DD where I did no exercise, ate pretty badly etc my lining was 9mm. Who knows!

@Everhopeful35 congratulations on your transfer! When is your test date or are you an early tester like a few of us on here? Great news about the frosties too.

@Eggling and @EffortIsSuccess20 good news from your scans today. Good luck for your next scans.

@MrsLouB sending love and lots of positive thoughts. The 2ww is such a rollercoaster of emotions. Try and enjoy being in your PUPO bubble (easy for me to say eh!).

So sorry if I've missed anyones updates, I'm scrolling on my phone and there's been so many posts today!

Oh and I've been listening to Izzy Judd's fertility podcast and would recommend it!

MrsLouB · 15/06/2020 20:21

@bestofyou1982 i have increased my lining not sure which one but i take l-arginate, vitamin e baby aspirin i take pomegranate juice drink rasperberry leaf tea along with fertility yoga (you tube) also fertility massage. I did most of this apart from vit e and the yoga and massage in my last cycle. This cycle my lining was at 8mm on day 12 and normally i struggle to get it to 6.5mm on my own and with estrogen patches. So i thought what the hell along with lots of walking exercise to get blood flow and leafy green veg xx best of luck

MrsLouB · 15/06/2020 20:22

@elleceedee thank you am liking the hubby doing more lol

Lemongrass1 · 15/06/2020 21:02

@Wesstywoo sorry scan wasn’t quite there. Hope your next scan brings better news

@elleceedee great news you’re good to move to next level. Exciting to have a transfer date!

@ivfgottostaypositive congrats on the BFP! So pleased for you and that’s a great line for 5dp5dt!!

@MrsLouB hope you are doing ok and good luck for when you decide to test x
@Pattaz2711 hope you are feeling a bit better and good luck for Weds x

@Dbrook great news on the frostie!

@EffortIsSuccess20 & @Eggling good luck for next scans 🤞 Hope those follicles are developing nicely!

@Everhopeful35 congrats on being PUPO! Sounds like there are still some embies in the running for freeze too 🤞🤞

@RosettaR this early stage really drags doesn’t it? Hopefully things will speed up after your scan on Tues

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip they are checking to see no follicles are developing on the ovaries and that your lining is nice and thin before they start oestrogen. I’ll be taking oestrogen for about 10 days before the next scan after that, after which the pessaries and injection start if lining has thickened up OK.

AF has finally started here so hopefully having down reg scan on Thurs. very happy to move onto the next steps! X

Pattaz2711 · 15/06/2020 21:08

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I didn't even get round to it as my pain the in arse hubby forgot his bike stuff an lunch so was running round after him.. but had a nice bath
As for down regs they will check the lining of you uterus an see how thick it is if not thick enough they will keep you on the estrigen for another week an check again if ok after that then you will start pesseris that's what i had to do if ok on the scan an the uterus is nice an thick you will start then if that makes sence.. an book I for transfer a week later

@Lemongrass1 I'm so nervous it's unreal xx

How is everyone this evening xx

HT2101 · 15/06/2020 21:59

How you feeling today @HJF84? Hopefully a bit of a brighter day.

Loving all you lining tips @MrsLouB, will definitely be trying some of those.

Started down regs today. Previous cycles I’ve had to ‘sniff’ the Supracur this time I’ve got the delights of injecting it. Least I don’t have to worry about sneezing it out but these injections def hurt more than the stim ones.

Pattaz2711 · 15/06/2020 22:13

@MrsLouB what does pomegranate do?

I'm worried now my lining being 6.4 what if it's not enough.. omg I'm
Panicking so much

Pattaz2711 · 15/06/2020 22:21

I'm reading google... help me lol..
why is my clinic saying 6.4 is ok

MrsLouB · 16/06/2020 06:46

Hi @Pattaz2711 dont panic when did they measure your lining ? Pom juice is a said to be a a lining thicken juice like beetroot and also brazil nuts kind of old wives tales, the fertility yoga and vit e and largnate are proven to help blood flow..but all depends on why lining has an issue if its blood flow of estrogen..if its estrogen then only that will help. Dont panic as i said each clinic have a different cut off point some higher some lower I've read some that like a min of 10mm and well I'd be screwed. Can you ask them what their guidelines are ? Are you fresh or Fet? Sorry my memory is rubbish at the moment....please dont google i do thank and anxiety levels go so hugh which is no good.

I question my clinic but their guildines are that some clinics do beta some dont some do 6,8 and 9 week scans before you leave them and some just do one its crazy it should be all the same xx

ivfgottostaypositive · 16/06/2020 07:33

@Pattaz2711

I think they expect the lining to carry on thickening between the date of your egg collection and the transfer - so it might be 6.4mm now but should hopefully get over 7-8mm by the time of transfer? I know when I had one freeze all cycle they said my lining was 11mm on day of collection so would be too thick come transfer 5 days later

You should definitely ask though? My approach has always been that this is costing a lot of money and heartache and I shouldn't be afraid to ask questions.

Pattaz2711 · 16/06/2020 07:49

@MrsLouB @ivfgottostaypositive
I'm having a frozen transfer last Wednesday it was 6.4mm they said they like it to be 7mm but when they spoken to the doctor he said it's fine to do the FET which is tomz.. the week before that was 4.2mm.. I find my clinic really hard sometimes an feel I get on there nerves keep ringing. I feel for them it's all about the money I've asked hubby a few times if we can change clinics an he said yeh but it's the transfer of the clinics.. when we was waiting for results when you first start off to see why, they would take 2/3 weeks to get back to you, the process of finding out the reason for infertility took about 4-6 months with our clinic.. it's only cause it's on our door step we used them..

Think mine only do 12 week scans, mine has changed names since I last went in.. so maybe there protocol has changed.. I left a message yesterday cause they haven't even said what to do tomz if I take meds before I go in etc..

I didn't sleep at all last night today is going to be a loooooooong day....

Anyways enough about me how are you guys doing?? Xxxxx

Mrbay · 16/06/2020 07:55

Morning Girls!

Wow lots of updates, I didn't check in yesterday as I had a migraine that didn't disappear until this morning - totally hate them!

Thanks for the reassurance about stim symptoms.

Welcome to the newbies and congrats to those who is PUPO!

Anyone else have an injection buddy??

Hey @Pattaz2711 if it was 6.4 last wednesday and they can see how much it grew the likely hood it would be over 7 by the time you took progesterone which is the min it needs to be for FET in most clinics. But the lack of information is shocking from some of these clinics. Also tomorrow you just do everything you normally would where you given a plan on when and how to take medication? The only difference tomorrow is you are having the transfer and need the full bladder i assume? As most do..have they said this.

Take some deep breaths and i would chase them

A 12 week scan? That's strange as you normally get transferred back to your gp or obgyn at 10 weeks and all clinics do a viability scan at between 6-8 weeks xxc

Pattaz2711 · 16/06/2020 08:04

@MrsLouB
I've been taking the progesterone pesseries an the estrogen, then have to have the progesterone injections tomz.. when I was at the clinic last week I said I don't know what I'm doing, they said just inject it, I was like can I not bring them in an you help me.. which I'm going to do.

They literally haven't said anything about transfer day.
I'm sure they keep us to 12 weeks there. I could be wrong..

I'm going to try an keep busy today I'm going to go food shopping ready for Tomz an buy loads of comfort food..

Also do you recommend anything to eat or drink after the transfer?..

Have you tested yet?? Or are you waiting? Xx

MrsLouB · 16/06/2020 08:25

Thats really bad did you not have a nurse planning to show or tell you about it? I had a show and tell first but now they do it over the phone..to be honest they are videos on how to do them online which i checked out as id forgot but thats not the point.. what are you injecting lubion? Or something else?

For after transfer i come home and lay most of the afternoon and nap as normally havent slept well before. I then have whatever i fancy that day proper comfort food fries pizza sweets anything i fancy before getting back to it the next day xxxx

I am ok not feeling positive at all ive been cramping again so prob not a great sign. No still have no tests so looks like it will be saturday unless my cheap ones come today and i can obsess over it today.

Xxx oh hunni i feel for you bit try and just keep busy and relax as tomorrow is a key day x

Pattaz2711 · 16/06/2020 08:41

@MrsLouB lubion I'm on for injection an cyclost for the pesseries..

No nurse at the appointment for scan they done the scan booked me in gave me a timetable an that was it.

Oh hun cramping could be a good thing of implantation. So hard not being able to test... I don't understand how when you naturally fall pregnant you can test 7
Days before next period or even the day.. but with this have to wait to weeks lol.. today is going to be one of those days

How was yours done? I don't even know if they do it through ultra sound they didn't a few years ago..

Be kind to your self xxx

MrsLouB · 16/06/2020 08:53

@pattaz2711 the lubion injections are pretty simple if you type in google how to do lubion injection there is a good video which will show you step by step. But you will set up the needle first normally the larger one then pop the cap off the bottle and the insert the needle in turn it upside down making sure the top of the needle is covered in liquid (i normally keep it quite low) and pull back on the syringe to bring the liquid into the syringe. Once in pull the needle out ...i normally then change the needle to the smaller one ready to inject and then give the syringe a few flicks to get any air bubbles to the top and push out any air out of the syringe until you get drop of liquid ...then grab a little fat (i dont need to as i have enough) and then pop into into the skin and inject...it stings a little but normally ok. Also wash hands before you start and wipe belly and top of bottle with antibac wipe they normally come with although mine didnt.

Well you can test when you like really just like a natural pregnancy but you shouldn't test until after you miss a period as it helps minimize know about chemicals or false negatives and the same with ivf and also for people who have a hcg trigger will give a false positive . But with so many tests out there its hard not too the clinic even said they would test with frer as it picks up such low levels they need the 25miu ones to show a proper line xxx

MrsLouB · 16/06/2020 08:55

My Fet was done by ultrasound and a full bladder they also give you a timetable when you start the cycle to show you but normally follow with a call and tell em at each stage x
