Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

Thanks @Mrbay, think I’ll give it a shot. Agree it’s just good to feel like we’re throwing every thing we can at it. Fingers crossed 2nd round is a winner for you 🤞🏻

Lemongrass1 · 09/06/2020 18:05

@MrsLouB congrats on being PUPO!

@ivfgottostaypositive good luck for tomorrow! I too am a serial tester, just prefer to know in advance if it’s not looking likely

The two times I’ve had ET, they were running late by 1h! Was agony holding my full bladder that long, needed to take loads of loo breaks to try release a little but not too much. I’ll ask if there’s any way I can go first on the list next time 😫

MorgenMuffel · 09/06/2020 19:19

@MrsLouB congrats on being PUPO 😊

HJF84 · 09/06/2020 20:39

@Lemongrass1 I don't like to count my chickens, or eggs! I'm not sure. I keep thinking transferring two would be good, but if I let one culture to day 5 for a freeze, at least I'd know if it made it to blasto stage? We don't have a good track record of embryos turning into blastos.

@takingthingstooseriously This was my fourth EC and this was the one that hurt the most. I think maybe they prodded and poked around the dysfunctional cyst/follicle too much - but I felt sore afterwards! I said to DH I felt like someone had stabbed me in the ovary with a sharp needle 😂 I think I got away lightly before!

@MrsLouB Congrats on being PUPO! I remember you being a serial tester from our last cycle together. I've tested a day or so before my bloods before, not sure what I'll do this cycle. There is part of me that doesn't want to travel all the way to London for a blood test that says BFN!!

@ivfgottobepositive Good luck for tomorrow 🤞🏼 London doesn't offer a transfer song! I wish they did though

takingthistooseriously · 09/06/2020 23:17

@MrsLouB glad ET went well, hope your 2ww goes quickly! I think I might test early next week even though my date is officially Friday 😬

@ivfgottostaypositive good luck for tomorrow!

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I really liked my ET, i was relieved to get to that point and it feels like it might be the beginning of something wonderful, i found it far far nicer than EC, even though I didn't get a transfer song!

Just ticking along in the 2ww here. Zero symptoms to report!

MrsLouB · 10/06/2020 07:21

@HJF84 lol yes but to be honest last cycle i only kept testing as i got an early bfp early at 6dpt and had never seen a line getting darker which is why i did it. Plus like a few others we dont get an early blood test so i figure ill test early 😁
@takingthistooseriously glad your doing ok i know our test day is a day apart. I figure though like a lot that by 9dpt you would get a line as thats the day your periods due. I hate not knowing either way but im torn this cycle as if my last miscarriage showed me it doesn't matter how many lines you get or the strength of them we had a real dye stealer and yet it wasnt meant to be.

I'm still unsure lol.

Good luck today @ivfgottostaypositive

Camfan1 · 10/06/2020 09:02

Hi all, hoping I can join in?

I’m on a FET cycle this time and transfer is due next week. Can anyone help me understand when to take the Cyclogest pessaries once I start them? I need to take 3 a day and I’ve been told they need to be 12 hours apart but with 1 in between which obviously means that they won’t be 12 hours apart! Doesn’t really make any sense! What times of the day have any of you been taking them?

Good luck to all here :)

elleceedee · 10/06/2020 09:06

@camfam1 hello and welcome! I always spread them out over 8-ish hours so 6am, 2pm, 10pm. Hope that helps!

elleceedee · 10/06/2020 09:15

Hi everyone, sorry I've been quiet for a few days - lots going on at home as been doing lots of work calls (currently furloughed but still have to do training bits and pieces) plus long discussion with my big boss about coming off furlough and what my role might look like as my immediate supervisor has handed her notice in so I've barely had any time to look at my phone! It would be absolutely typical that I'd have to start going back to work (with potentially more responsibility!) just as I've got used to the idea of having a nice relaxing 2ww and (hopefully) first trimester off work! Not complaining though, just pleased to have a job to go back to!

So I had my baseline scan on Monday and have started progynova. There was initially a question mark over whether I could start as my lining wasn't as thin as it has been on previous baseline scans, I think the doctor said it was 4mm this time, but as long as it's under 5mm it is fine to start. Of course I've been worrying about that!

Will catch up properly later with all your updates but just wanted to say good luck to @ivfgottostaypositive for today.

ivfgottostaypositive · 10/06/2020 09:38

Thanks everyone - so had my update from Create in that my embryos from Fridays collection didn't make blastocyst which I expected anyway. BUT the 3 day they thawed ja now a 5BA and set for transfer this afternoon and they are going to thaw my 3BB to transfer with it 🤞🤞

@Camfan1

I take 3 a day and to be honest timings vary a little - not sure which "way" you are doing them - front or back but I have to wait until I've been for the loo in the morning before doing them the back way at around 730am and I know I can then sit down for 1/2 hour. Then around 1-2pm and then around 7-8pm

I've asked my clinic to test my progesterone on transfer day though to double check it's been absorbed. Normally they only check if you don't have regular periods or spot a lot before starting a cycle

takingthistooseriously · 10/06/2020 10:28

@Camfan1 welcome! I aim to take my progesterone at 9am, 2pm and 9pm but I'm not exact about it.

@HJF84 sorry to hear you had a more painful EC this time - hope you're recovering ok now! the actual collection was ok for me but my arm is still bruised all over from the cannula Confused

@elleceedee sounds like you have a lot to keep you busy/distracted! will you get to act up or be asked to apply for your supervisor's job? that's exciting.

@ivfgottostaypositive sorry to hear about your ones this cycle but a 5BA is excellent news!

@MrsLouB I'm sure you're right about tests and lines and I like the phrase dye stealer! How is the 2ww going so far for you?

Mrbay · 10/06/2020 10:45

Morning All!

Had my scan and everything is good to start stimms, first injection of Bemfola done!

1st scan to check progress is a week on Friday so on track for EC W/C 22/06 - feels like the the time is flying by.

Good luck for later @ivfgottostaypositive - thats a great grade to have transfered :)

MrsLouB · 10/06/2020 10:58

@ivfgottostaypositive wishing you the best of luck that a great grade to be putting back in x

@takingthistooseriously haha i saw it some where but i had never had strong lines before and then when i got the stage of the test line being way darker than the control because its taking all the dye ! x Its ok the time will go slow working from home has its benefits so i can lay and work rather that having to be sat all day and i get time to fit a lot more in.

This wait kills me i go from positive to negative all in a days thoughts..i also have a secret hobby where i watch youtube videos of people taking tests at different days past transfer one lady had hers ar 4dp5dt wow - strange probably, but it gives me hope and sometimes a good cry x

ivfgottostaypositive · 10/06/2020 11:16

@MrsLouB

Oh my god I also google photos of tests at various days past transfer! You'd think having done 3 transfers already I'd be over it. 🤣

MrsLouB · 10/06/2020 11:56

@ivfgottostaypositive lol yes i am not the only one ! i love it i dont know why i like the videos sometimes as well as you can see them processing eek its like i am testing but not, also seeing different variations of lines on certain days is cool Grin

elleceedee · 10/06/2020 12:35

Oh my goodness, I have found my people! @MrsLouB and @ivfgottostaypositive I would look at xdp5dt hashtags on Instagram, compare them to my own (extensive!) photo collection from previous cycles. I didn't test early on my last cycle (BFN) and I can't say it made me any calmer waiting until OTD although I think I am going to wait until OTD this time as it becomes an expensive habit! I had never thought to look at tests on YouTube before, that is genius and I will definitely be doing that! Grin

ivfgottostaypositive · 10/06/2020 12:44

@elleceedee

I might be a bad influence but 2x FRER are only £7 on Amazon at the moment with next day delivery 🤣 - the Amazon delivery driver will be my new best friend by this time next week 🤣

MrsLouB · 10/06/2020 12:48

Yes @elleceedee i never thought of insta but i have typed in google and compared the images and then some videos popped up and i was like ohh interesting also the guys are vlogers so can follow their videos too to see the outcome.

Lol @ivfgottostaypositive naughty but i ordered mine from there two i ha e two boxes sitting waiting but promised to buy no more... so i was looking a cheap stick tests this morning thinking should i? Buy dh gets our amazon alerts eek

ivfgottostaypositive · 10/06/2020 13:07

@MrsLouB

I can't stand the cheap test strips as they always seem to give a wrong result or take much longer than FRER to show a line. I don't mind the Answer Onestep from Lloyd's Pharmacy though - they are made in the same factory as FRER and look exactly the same without the FREE branding and are usually half the price x

Lemongrass1 · 10/06/2020 13:15

Welcome @Camfan1!

@ivfgottostaypositive sorry to hear about the embryos from this collection but great news on the 3 day embie becoming a 5BA. Those are two fab grades to transfer! Good luck for later today.

I also with FRER all the way for early testing!! always spend a fortune on preg tests 🤣 Not tried the Lloyds pharmacy ones though

Lemongrass1 · 10/06/2020 13:16

Also the obsessive symptom spotting and googling of success stories

MrsLouB · 10/06/2020 13:16

@ivfgottostaypositive thanks for the tip i guess 1dp5dpt is to early to test lol

Dbrook · 10/06/2020 14:38

@MrsLouB congrats on being PUPO!

@ivfgottostaypositive that’s disappointing about the embryos from Friday but great that you can still transfer something this afternoon. Fingers crossed for you.

@Mrbay great to hear the scan went well and you can officially start. Exciting!

@Camfan1 welcome!

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone else. Just on my way back from egg collection. They got 5 eggs. Now the waiting game begins.

Lemongrass1 · 10/06/2020 14:47

@Dbrook 5 eggs is great, hope you get good news with the call tomorrow x

ivfgottostaypositive · 10/06/2020 15:02

Well that's me PUPO - went for "sex on fire" for my transfer song - didn't want anything too cheesy or baby related! 🤣
