IVF May/June Cycle Buddies

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

@HJF84 - I'll post a pic of my haul when I get it on Thursday, might need them to soften the tears if I don't start stimms on Wednesday!

Regarding implantation, 1st time failed and I rested up for a week, then picked bits up and even rode and fell off! 2nd transfer, slightly more careful but still fell off the horse again, it stuck for a few weeks but then failed. 3rd one, didn't fall of the horse and was more careful, didn't stick! So I believe that if the embryo is good, it'll stick and I think a lot of the stories are old wives tales. Oh apart from laughter, that in cased implantation rates in a blind trial.

@Dbrook- good luck and enjoy it being the last injection! Well until EC! Exciting times!

@ivfgottostaypositive sorry to hear the news today wasn’t as positive as you’d hoped. But I wouldn’t totally discount those embryos yet and it’s great you have some frozen too as a backup

@MorgenMuffel sorry you are feeling unwell. Hope all goes well for viability scan, it will be here before you know if!

I’ve been having some nausea in morning since starting downreg. I assume it’s the buserelin but not had it before, only headaches and tiredness. Also can I ask how long it’s taken you to have your bleed on downreg before? I’ve done it twice and it was 10 days after starting injections the first time and 12 the second time. 🤞 it comes before the scan this time

Two fertilised eggs for me this morning. We did have ICSI so I was hoping that would be the case. All the eggs we've ever had collected have fertilised correctly and made it to day 3. The issue seems to come from day 3 to day 5. They are going to call me tomorrow to arrange a transfer time for Thursday

@Lemongrass1 - normally around day 14-15 for me but as I was on the pill this time its taken 11-days for me to have my bleed. Just checked my paperwork and they would expect it to happen with 7-10days.

@Mrbay how long did they put you on the pill for? I've only had to take it for 12 days so was hoping AF would come fairly quickly!

@Lemongrass1 about Ava, if you want to temp, its soo much easier than faffing about with a thermometer but I find it a bit irritating because it is clearly collecting shed loads of data but I don't actually know what 95% of it means. My consultant was a bit scathing, he said once you know when you ovulate, what are you using it for? Which is true, but also i was interested to see whether it could tell me other things, which it didn't but I think mostly that's my fault for not being able to interpret the data !

@Wesstywoo - I've been on it back to back since Feb so I'm a little different, but I didn't bleed until 2/3 days after my final pill. I started buserelin on my last 7 pills.

Fingers crossed the rest has done my ovaries some good, the consultant said some people benefit from a rest before stims, I was just glad to not have periods and that was my motivation for taking it!

You need to do the period dance, get everything moving!!

@Mrbay definitely going to try the period dance! 😂 I had one over enthusiastic follicle at the start last time so hopefully it's done the trick in calming things down 🤞

I'm feeling ok today - just keeping busy working from home until transfer tomorrow. I could pretend that I won't test earlier than my official test date but that's a blatant lie - I'm a compulsive tester so will test from Monday onwards (5dp5dt) so I'll have an idea if it's worked fairly soon so I can think about what I want to do next 🤣

@Mrbay can I ask how often you do your shakes? Is it daily, or just when you start your injections. Have been pretty good with my COQ10 & other supplements but have never tried protein shakes, and willing to give anything a go...

@ivfgottostaypositive best of luck for tomorrow and you are funny i want to test early but my dh wants to wait to test day im so torn.

So we have our embryo on board what a morning was running late at the clinic and then when they checked the tube after transfer it was still in there little sod so it took two goes! Well that's it our last embryo is on board and now we wait x

The only stage that I feel a bit anxious about is my embryo transfer which I’ll have in a few weeks.
Do you mind telling me what happens.
Weirdly the thing that worries me is having to drink and have a full bladder!! When I had the trial transfer I drank too much and was soooo uncomfortable.
Also did you go to transfer on your own and drive home?

Great news you're finally PUPO!!

My DH has zero say in when I test - to be honest I don't even think he knows when or what the official test day is 🤣 - he's pretty laid back and just goes with the flow and let's me organise it all - he just turns up to give his sample and that's it 🤣

Normally I have to book in for the blood test for the official test day which is always 9dp5dt which will be next Friday but after our first failed transfer I hate going in to confirm what I already know so I'll probably book in for a blood test IF I see a line on Monday onwards.

It's pretty quick really.

Usually have to be there 30mins before with a full bladder - which does get uncomfortable especially if you're cubicle is right by the water cooler or you hear taps running!

You pop a gown on and then in the theatre they'll insert the tube - you think you're going to piss yourself but don't (apparently no one ever has!) and then they do multiple checks to makes sure it's the right embryo (not someone else's!) and then they fire it in in a solution and then someone checks it's out of the tube

You can someone's get a good photo of the embryo going in - looks like a little flash of white

At create the embryologists like to play some funny music when you transfer - they usually ask me what I fancy - last time it was say a little prayer by aretha Franklin - this time I'm thinking kings of Leon sex on fire 🤣 or maybe for a bit of cheese "don't stop believing" - the Glee version obviously!

You have to lie down for 5 Minutes then you can go for a wee and leave! All over in about 30 mins tops

My official test day is 20th june but i will test before i know i cant wait

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip it is pretty much as @ivfgottostaypostive but i dont lay down i get up and go to the toliet and get changes DH isnt allowed in at the moment he was before, also we dont get music but everything is calm and they talk through everything.

In regards to bladder o would reccomend emptying about an hour and half before and the drinking maybe 250ml then another 250ml sipping not glugging so that you have enough time for it to reach your bladder which takes about 30minsutes. But depends how much you drank last time if that was to much then i would drink abit less you can always drink more but letting some out and having to stop is painful my last transfer was bad i thought i was going wee all over the dr and it felt like a life time as i kept tensing up. You will feel like you need to pee and that maybe some is dribbling out but that can be from the thing they insert and also any water coming out if they clean your cervix xx

@MrsLouB congrats on your transfer! Two attempts is a good sign, if it can stick in the tube it can stick inside you 👍🏻

@HT2101 - at the moment I'm having 45g of protein from shakes and yogurt but when I stim I'll up this to 100g a day so 2 shakes and 2 yogurts and the rest from my diet.
Not sure if it'll help but makes me feel like I'm doing something.

Was posted on Facebook but I'm going to enquire about LWC's implantation failure clinic, if this round fails I will go for further tests. Starting to come around to having a 3rd round.
