Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

@takingthistooseriously

I don't temp as I never seem to be able to get it right and by the time I remember in the morning I've already moved around a fair bit so the results would be off.

I've read a dip is ok if it then rises again? So maybe need to watch for another couple of days

takingthistooseriously · 07/06/2020 21:40

Thanks @ivfgottostaypositive I will try to chill out! I have an Ava bracelet from when we were trying naturally so there's no skill to it fortunately!
Hope you get good news tomorrow about a day 5 transfer

elleceedee · 08/06/2020 07:07

Good luck for egg collection today @HJF84 hope you bloods come back fine as well so you can go ahead with fresh transfer.

ivfgottostaypositive · 08/06/2020 08:13

@hjf84

Good luck today!

Just had my call from create - not great news my end. The 2 embryos we have aren't great quality on day 3 - they aren't dividing equally and quite a lot of fragmentation. So we are going to culture them to day 5 to see if they make blastocyst stage and also thaw my other day 3 and will also probably end up thawing another day 5 so that we have a double transfer. Feeling pretty down. At least we will have a transfer but the hopes of having at least 6 final goes at getting pregnant are now down to 4 x

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 08/06/2020 08:35

Be kind to yourself today @ivfgottostaypositive

Do something to make yourself feel a bit better. Hopefully in a couple of days you’ll have good news. Take each hours as it comes today. This journey is hard and it’s ok to feel however you do 😘 Xxx

elleceedee · 08/06/2020 08:39

So sorry to hear that @ivfgottostaypositive that must've been a but of a blow to hear that. At least they want to try to get them to blastocyst stage though, don't lose hope yet!

MorgenMuffel · 08/06/2020 08:46

Hi @all, sorry I've been a bit quiet, not been feeling well. Still trying to keep with my mantra of "today I am pregnant" but still 'knicker checking' every time I go to the loo dreading there will be blood and worrying every time I get a twinge or cramp. Viability scan booked for the 23rd so focusing on getting to that, one day at a time. I know worrying wont change the outcome but its so hard! Really trying to be positive.

@MrsLouB I'm similarly starting to wonder about money and childcare etc, but as others have said try not to worry too much and there are always things you can do when it comes to it to try and cut back and reduce bills etc. Hope you enjoyed your naughty food day on Sat - I think that looking after your mental health is just as important as your physical, so if you need some nice food for your wellbeing then go for it!

@mrbray great news that AF finally showed up and hope you can get started on Wed. I'm completely the same with the meds - have to have an alarm set for each one otherwise I lose track of time.

@takingthistooseriously congrats on being PUPO :D hope you are doing ok with the waiting. When is OTD? Do you test at home or go in for bloods?

@HJF84 hope you are feeling a little less wiped out today, hope EC goes well today.

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I was only allowed to transfer one embryo on my first fresh cycle, but with this FET we were given a choice, even with top quality blasts in the freezer. We opted for one though - too many people we know who had double transfers and have twins, we wanted to give a singleton a few more goes first! Seems clinics vary in their approach, so worth talking to them if you are interested.

@ivfgottostaypositive sorry to hear the news isn't as positive as had initially looked at EC, but there is still time, and with the ones you have in the freezer you still have a good shot at getting there.

@dbrook good luck with your scan today :)

@elleceedee hurrah for AF turning up. Hope you manage to get your scan booked - at my clinic they baseline between days 3 and 5 so I wouldn't worry if its not today they bring you in.

HJF84 · 08/06/2020 09:54

Morning all
Just in recovery after my EC. Managed to get two eggs from the right, and nothing from the left, which is where my dysfunctional cyst was. The doctor still has no idea if it is a follicle or if it's a cyst. Who knows? But he's bit concerned by it. He mentioned that there could still be an egg in there, so had advised no intercourse just in case.

@ivfgottobepositive Every cycle is different. My first cycle in the three cycle package had a similar outcome. 3 eggs and neither looked great on day 3. They froze one, but when we went for the thaw later on, it didn't make it to morula let alone blasto. Maybe you're right, your body has had enough and needs a break. Be thankful that you have the other two cycles that produced eggs. If you'd opted for one cycle and this was your time, you'd be feeling a lot worse.

Let's just hope my little eggs fertilise (we're using ICSI, as our blastos were much better quality from that last time) - I hate this part!

ivfgottostaypositive · 08/06/2020 10:04

@HJF84

Congrats on getting 2 eggs! 🤞you get a good update In the Morning!

I know its silly to feel so down when I've got 4 frozen. I think I just had it built up in my head about reaching 6 blastocysts and I'm a bit (a lot!) of a control freak and struggle when things don't go to plan x

MrsLouB · 08/06/2020 10:35

Morning @MorgenMuffel sorry you have not been feeling great unless its pregnancy related then i guess its good :-) i know what you mean i think we would all be in the same situation i know i would be worried about each twinge and checking each time i went to the toilet ..role on the 23rd june. I did enjoy my naughty day i am trying to keep to a calorie goal each day so that i can lose some of this weight i have built up. But i dont know if its the progesterone or my mind but i just had no energy to work out now.

@HJF84 Congratulations on the eggs Star keeping things crossed for a good update tomorrow.

I am a bag of nerves to say the least, just hoping we do not get a call tomorrow to say our frostie didnt make it, i think that would be the worst i can think of.

Mrbay · 08/06/2020 10:49

Morning All!

Lots of updates to read through so sorry if I haven't replied to you directly, I am really struggling with my memory at the moment, so much so that I've asked that my DH do all the driving as I'm concerned that I'll make a mistake. Last time I forgot to apply the handbrake and his car rolled into the garage door!

@ivfgottostaypositive - sorry to hear your embryos aren't behaving as excepted but its great that you do have some in the freezer so all is not lost :) big hugs.

@MorgenMuffel - it's hard not to worry about every day, every symptom, each twinge it is totally normal to worry. You are right, you can only take it one day at a time. Everything is crossed for you.

@HJF84 - yay! fingers crossed for a positive update tomorrow.

Regarding everyone's comments regarding energy, mine has completely gone but I cannot sleep either. I nodded off at 1am this morning and was awake before 7am! I'm struggling to cope with work as I can't think straight - normally I just get moody and depressed so this is new, no low moods.

Oh I have positive news, our local traditional sweet shop opens this week, so I will be having a little (I mean large) shopping trip out! I always feel a bit guilty when a little kid is making a considered purchase of sweets with their £1 budget and I'm there just shovelling sweets into my tub without a care in the world! I am going to be a terrible role model!

Wesstywoo · 08/06/2020 11:06

@ivfgottostaypositive sorry to hear that, I know how disheartening day 3 calls can be Sad but fingers crossed for those little embies plus you have some great frosties so I have everything crossed for you 🤞

@HJF84 2 that's great, good luck for tomorrow's update.

@MorgenMuffel sorry to hear you are feeling unwell. Hope the next 2 weeks go quickly for you!

@Mrbay sounds great, enjoy your trip to the sweet shop!

Final BC pill taken today so hopefully AF will arrive by the end of the week. Natural modified cycle also but hoping for more than 1 egg this time 🤞

MorgenMuffel · 08/06/2020 11:44

@HJF84 great news on the two eggs, hope you get a positive update in the morning.

@wesstywoo @mrbay @mrslouB thank you - I do feel like I am going a little crazy at times! DH is trying to not get too ahead of things too, which I think in some way is adding a little to my mix of emotions. I completely agree and don't want to get too carried away, but at the same time I want to be excited, and I very much like to forward plan!

@ivfgottostaypositive I think it's completely understandable - it is such a hard process with no control so it can really knock you for six when what you thought was going to happen doesn't. Be kind to yourself x

MrsLouB · 08/06/2020 11:53

hey @MorgenMuffel i know what you mean i do the same and my DH is like no dont get carried away but it is hard not too.

@ivfgottostaypositive i am sorry to hear your news but you do have some good frozen ones so all is not lost. i know it is hard to think like that but not everyone gets that far xx hoping they are strong for you

@Mrbay oh love a sweet shop pick n mix are our fav in this house you enjoy!

Dbrook · 08/06/2020 12:34

@MorgenMuffel it’s hard isn’t it, even the happy times on this journey are still stressful. As others have mentioned try to just take things one day at a time.

@ivfgottostaypositive So sorry to hear about your embryos. Fingers crossed they develop over the next couple of days.

@HJF84 Congrats on the eggs! Hope you have a relaxing recovery at home this afternoon and you get some good news in the morning.

My scan went well I think. There’s 5 follicles measuring between 17 - 24mm, another 3 at 13mm and 9 between 6 - 10mm. So I’ll hopefully get about 5 decent sized eggs. Taking the trigger tonight and egg collection on Wednesday.

MorgenMuffel · 08/06/2020 14:05

@dbrook that's great news! Fx for EC for you on Wed.

HJF84 · 08/06/2020 15:09

@Mrbay Sweets are my biggest vice. Same for DH. I'd be right there at the front of the queue with you! My fave is bonbons - yum!

@dbrook great news on the follicles!

@wesstywoo The clinic told me it was likely I'd only get one on my natural modified cycle, but I got two, and I'm sure @ivfgottobepositive has had more from previous cycles. Stay positive!

Started on the progesterone pessaries, and lubion starts tonight. Here's to the bloating and the 4am wake up calls!

I took a sick day today (oops!) so I'm going to relax and catch up on some TV. I'd love to hear everyones myths, tips and tricks to help with implantation. I hear pineapple is good? Any supplements I should be taking?

Wesstywoo · 08/06/2020 15:13

@HJF84 McDonald's fries is my favourite myth! 😂 must be on ET day for some reason!

HJF84 · 08/06/2020 15:26

@wesstywoo I love that myth! Might treat myself on ET day!

The clinic just rang and my heart sank. The embryologist said they would call before 4pm if both eggs were not mature enough for fertilisation, as we're doing ICSI. Turns out, it was the doctor calling just to let me know that the protein s, protein C and lupus results were all normal/negative so no need for prednisalone. And he also mentioned that everyone had gone according to plan today. Talk about a rollercoaster phone call. I need to stop thinking the worst!

ivfgottostaypositive · 08/06/2020 15:39

@HJF84

God it's awful waiting for the calls isnt it! - you want it to ring so badly with news but at the same time no news is good news!

🤞 for tomorrow fertilisation update!

@Wesstywoo

Yes my second natural modified cycle I got 7 follicles and it was the best in terms of producing AA grade blastocysts. Everything just seemed to go right on that cycle

(As opposed to this one 🤪 but at least I can say for definite now that all the supplements, healthy eating, losing weight, lack of stress from not being at work due to lockdown etc makes not a jot of difference to egg quality!)

Perhaps overthinking my options and planning ahead if Wednesdays transfer doesn't work I may do a completely natural IVF round with no drugs at all - it's about £1,400 with medication etc for a FET and £2700 for natural IVF including a transfer so for an extra bit of money we'll collect one egg that month and do a transfer? We budgeted for 3 transfers anyway and we are only going to do 2 now so financially wouldn't make much difference but might get us that extra blastocyst. And since I only got one big follicle this time on natural modified not seeing the point in paying for drugs again just to get 1?

Wesstywoo · 08/06/2020 15:52

@ivfgottostaypositive it's hard to know what to do because it could go either way - I think it's just luck whether it's a viable egg/eggs that month. Last cycle I had one follicle race ahead on it's own by day 5 so I had no stim drugs at all (just the trigger shot) and even that didn't make blast

HT2101 · 08/06/2020 15:56

@HJF84 great news on your test results!! Keeping fingers crossed your good news carries on for fertilisation!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

HT2101 · 08/06/2020 16:15

@ivfgottostaypositive you made me laugh with your comment about all the supplements, healthy eating, lack of stress on egg quality! We really do put ourselves through it in this process... Will be thinking of you on Wednesday, fingers crossed!!

MrsLouB · 08/06/2020 16:34

Hi @HJF84 i am in the bloating and 4am wake up club at the moment please join :-) well i have heard and taken pom juice, brazil nuts, pineapple also heard of the mcd fries and also laughing after transfer as its relaxing! OH and keeping your feet warm so to wear socks as otherwise the blood flow is being pulled away from you uterus.

ill be honest i do most of these apart from fries and pineapple on the last successful cycle in their eyes, but who knows x good luck

takingthistooseriously · 08/06/2020 17:00

@HJF84 that's great that your tests came back normal and fingers x'd for your update tomorrow

@Dbrook those are great numbers! Mine were similar and I had 12 eggs so you may get loads more than you think.

@MorgenMuffel sorry you are feeling so rotten. Hopefully that is the strength of hCG getting you and nothing else! I test at home on the 19th, no need for more bloods fortunately as between all the blood tests and the cannula on EC day, my arms are bruised as anything! Waiting is better now I have convinced myself to stop temping Blush

@ivfgottostaypositive please try not to be too disheartened, 4 is still lots of goes and it sounds like you're thinking of another round too, although I hope you don't need it. Fingers firmly crossed for you
