Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

@ivfgottostaypositive
Thanks for your reply. Soooo happy for you. Look forward to updates this week.

MrsLouB · 06/06/2020 10:52

Hey @HJF84 yes it is we are berkshire moved from Hertfordshire pretty much the same. Glad your clinics on board with testing.

@ivfgottostaypostive yay thats amazing news so happy for you!

@mrbay yes it here now you can start the process ...i know wait that wait is like xx

Ive been so good all week and food wise but today just feeling low maybe the progesterone but feel like relaxing and eating naughty one day only x

Lemongrass1 · 06/06/2020 11:35

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip we are having single embryo transfer. We were offered to do double ‘cos I’m ‘old’ but this was pre lockdown. I don’t know if the clinic has changed it’s rules since then. I have previously had double transfers but have become a bit more wary after being given the clinics stats on multiple pregnancies with DET. Whilst we are not overly keen on twins for a number of reasons, we would manage and be happy with whatever comes as there is still a small possibility even with SET.

@MrsLouB I’m sure one naughty food day will be fine. My one day has ended up as a whole week though 😂

@HJF84 have they given you any idea when you get your results? It’s good that they identified the other issues though with clotting and folic acid conversion. I didn’t even know there was a test for the folic acid thing!

takingthistooseriously · 06/06/2020 11:45

@Mrbay really glad for you that you can get started and the period dance worked!

@ivfgottostaypositive that's great news, you must be so pleased with that fertilisation rate

@MrsLouB sorry you are feeling low today, I'm sure one day not being an angel with your diet would be fine! We had takeaway pizza on my EC day, no way was I cooking!

I had my ET yesterday, one on board! My clinic's test day is 14 days though so have to wait until the 19th -- not sure I'll manage!! I was also waiting for a call from the clinic this morning about whether we can freeze any but really annoyingly my phone has chosen today to be a pain in the arse, I've been watching it all morning and it's just now told me that I missed a call yesterday and three from the clinic this morning! As my clinic is technically closed today their switchboard won't let me call them back aargh nightmare!

hope everyone is having a nice weekend despite the weird weather!

ivfgottostaypositive · 06/06/2020 12:30

@takingthistooseriously

Oh no! I know I compulsively stare at my phone waiting for it to call day 1/3/5!
Do you have an email for anyone in embryology or the doctor to see if someone could call you back?

What grade did you transfer in the end and how many did you have that might be able to freeze? X

MrsLouB · 06/06/2020 12:49

Hey takingthistooseriously congrats PUPO my test day will be around the 19th too as my clinic have an 10/11 day until testing. I find it strange how each clinic is different some are 9 and ive heard some as long as 16! Oh no i hate it when the phone does that my clinic have a portal that you can call or an emergency number not sure if you could do that though. Hopefully they will try and call you again x

takingthistooseriously · 06/06/2020 13:52

Thanks @ivfgottostaypositive and @MrsLouB sorry I had a minor panic panic over now! Managed to get through via the new patient number and being a bit cheeky! I now have 3 in the freezer, two top quality and one medium so relieved!
@MrsLouB so exciting to have a test buddy Grin

Lemongrass1 · 06/06/2020 14:04

@takingthistooseriously you are in the 2WW! Hurrah! And brilliant news on the frosties 🎉🎉

elleceedee · 06/06/2020 15:08

@takingthistooseriously congratulations on being PUPO! I hope the 2ww flies by or failing that you've got lots to distract you! Great news on the frosties too!

HT2101 · 06/06/2020 15:23

Congrats @ivfgottostaypositive amazing fertilisation rates!!

MrsLouB · 06/06/2020 15:26

Fantastic news @takingthistooseriously glad you spoke to them and you have some great frosties there x yay to test buddies hoping the wait is not to but torture although it always seems to drag.

ivfgottostaypositive · 06/06/2020 15:29

@takingthistooseriously

Congratulations great numbers for the freezer!

Thankyou everyone for your responses on my fertilisation numbers - for those who aren't aware last year with short protocol IVF I was getting 14 eggs but less than 30% fertilising even with ICSI
I swapped on to natural modified IVF ICSI for rounds 3,4 and 5 and although collecting a lot fewer eggs my fertilisation rate is now 100% and so far blastocysts have been much better quality x

Mrbay · 06/06/2020 16:02

Great updates over today! Enjoy being PUPO @takingthistooseriously

@ivfgottostaypositive - that's great news! Good luck with ET.

Thanks for the well wishes for Wednesday.
DH asked me today when I was due on and then showed me the stash of sweets he'd got in preparation of my cravings!

I nearly forgot my injection this morning - that'll teach me to have a lie in.

Miserable weather here today so I've given the house a good once over - hope others are doing something more exciting!

@MrsLouB so sorry you are feeling low today . On the finances you will find away . Take one day at a time .

@HJF84 Monday would go well with the EC. Enjoy the trigger weekend .

@ivfgottostaypositive Fantastic news with the fertilisation rate . We will have a good grade on day 3 for ET, am positive 👍🏿.

@Mrbay Glad that AF showed up . My period is still playing tricks on me. Set multiple reminder for the injection.

@elleceedee sorry for AF delay, it’s a NO show yet for me as well .

Congratulations @takingthistooseriously . Let’s enjoy and celebrate the 2WW.

Hope all the lucky lovely ladies (#LLL) enjoying the weekend /what is left of it . You are all in my thoughts .

HJF84 · 06/06/2020 22:05

@ivfgottobepositive Yay for the two fertilised embryos. When I did my three cycle package I went from best to worst embryo, your idea is much better! Fingers crossed you get a sticky one or two 🤞🏼 You can do the NK test both ways, blood and biopsy. I had the blood version. Yes, it cost £800 and included karotyping for DH too.

@ht2101 Protein C, Protein S and Lupus is another test to see if I need prednisalone

@elleceedee I had it for my last cycle two, 'in case' I needed it. At least I'll know once I get these results back.

@lemongrass1 They said I would get the results back between 7 and 14 days. 7 days was today, and I'm hoping for ET on Thursday so I hope I have the results by then!

@takingthingstooseriously Yay! Congrats on being PUPO. Get lots of rest and try to take it easy.

Last cetrotide taken, and I've just triggered ready for my EC on Monday.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 07/06/2020 06:38

Morning everyone 👋

Happy Sunday to you all! Hope everyone has a lovely day 🤞☀️🤞☀️ Xxx

I’ve not had a great nights sleep as my brain would not switch off. I can’t believe that in a month then we’ll know if we are pregnant. It’s so exciting!!!!!!! Xx

MrsLouB · 07/06/2020 07:12

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip morning and happy sunday all.

Ive been up since 5am when one of the cats decided it was breakfast. Still feeling off and lacking energy today.

It is exciting but nerve racking to think that in a few weeks we will know if we are or not. My mind keeps going back to last time and getting our bfp and then losing our baby at 7 weeks so i know eve if we are lucky to succeed i will be a nervous wreck until that time. I cannot change the outcome we have done all we can so am trying to reason with myself.

I hope you all have a lovely sunday

@HJF84 yay good luck with EC on monday

elleceedee · 07/06/2020 07:48

Morning everyone!

@MrsLouB I understand that feeling following miscarriage, I really do. I'm sorry that you've been through that, it's so horrible and hard. I didn't feel that I could properly enjoy my pregnancy with DD because I was so worried. If I'm lucky enough to get pregnant again I'm going to really try to be more in the moment and enjoy the pregnancy rather than being a nervous wreck for 9 months! I'm going to really try and keep positive throughout this whole process, we can help each other Smile

@Mrbay your DH is amazing for having period snacks ready!

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I am inspired by your positivity and trying to have the same mindset!

I feel like I need a fanfare for this... my period is finally here! I'll ring the clinic tomorrow and book in for my baseline scan. Hopefully they'll be able to fit me in on the same day as I think it needs to be done on day 2?

ivfgottostaypositive · 07/06/2020 08:07

I feel really strange about transferring tomorrow (although embryologist rang me again last night and he might push it to a 5 day transfer on Wednesday)

5 miscarriages and the last time I was pregnant I had my second ruptured live ectopic and lost my last tube. I seem to have the worst luck. All I can think about this morning is that it would just be my luck to have a c section ectopic- definitely calling it a day if that happens! I know for a fact I won't enjoy a pregnancy if I'm lucky enough to have a BFP. A friend transferred their 5aa perfect blastocyst a few months ago and had to terminate for medical reasons as the baby had chromosome issues and I keep thinking that could end up being me x

elleceedee · 07/06/2020 08:21

@ivfgottostaypositive gosh, you've really been through it haven't you - no wonder you're feeling apprehensive about transfer. Given what I've just posted above about my own negative and anxious mindset during my pregnancy with DD due to previous losses, I'm not exactly the best person to offer advice but what I will say is this - every pregnancy is different and just because you've experienced those things before doesn't mean it will be the same this time too. You're due a bit of good luck this time surely! Good news about them wanting to take the embryos to day 5, that's really positive!

That's so sad about your friends having to terminate, what an awful experience.

MrsLouB · 07/06/2020 10:05

@elleceedee thank you for sharing your experience i do hope i can enjoy it if we are lucky enough to get there xx
@ivfgottostaypositive i am so sorry to hear of your experience and i totally get your worries i have only ever had early miscarriages luckily without any major complications but i think we all have these feeling because of what can happen and it is normal and natural i can only say i have everything crossed for you and pray things go smoothly xxx we are here for you

RosettaR · 07/06/2020 16:25

@Mrbay I've set alarms on my phone for the synarel, and every time they go it takes me completely by surprise! If I had to remember this would not be going well at all ... Your DH sounds lovely!

@HJF84 best of luck for your EC tomorrow!

@MrsLouB @UncleBrynsfishingtrip that is exciting you'll both know so soon! I'm on long protocol, aiming for EC week of 6 July so I guess I won't know until close to the end of July, such a long time!

I'm exhausted again today, since I started down regging I've been feeling like I'm really sleep deprived, like having jet lag. I've not actually been sleeping that badly so I'm coming to the conclusion it's the synarel. It's pretty horrible, and I keep thinking I can't have the best chance of producing great eggs if I'm feeling like this. It's making me think if this is unsuccessful I might go to Create for our second round and do something milder.

@elleceedee yay that your period arrived and you can get going! Good luck with the scan!

@ivfgottostaypositive that is a good sign they are considering a day 5 transfer. You really have been through a lot I'm the last few years, it makes sense that you're apprehensive. You're doing so well though this cycle so hopefully you'll get some good luck.

My exciting news is that I'm having a down reg bleed, which hopefully is a sign it's working. Seems strange I still have to take it for another two and a half weeks before the down reg scan but there you go.

HJF84 · 07/06/2020 19:06

This day has been a total wipeout for me. I woke up feeling tired, so I had a lie in, and managed to get up for a gentle HIIT workout this morning. DH and I watched some TV, but I felt so tired I took myself upstairs and had a two hour nap! That's so unlike me. I don't remember being this tired for my last three triggers, but it's the only thing I can think of 😴

ivfgottostaypositive · 07/06/2020 19:50

@HJF84

I've felt wiped out this cycle - sign I'm getting too old for this shit! 🤣

Ovitrelle has a weird affect on one of my male (neutered) tabby cats. It turns him into a sex pest and he won't stop humping me so I've had to deal with that the last few days every time I sit down until the trigger is out of my system 🤣

takingthistooseriously · 07/06/2020 20:24

@HJF84 good luck for EC tomorrow! Hope all goes well

@elleceedee good news you can get going now!

Can I ask- does anyone keep temping while they are doing an ivf cycle? I know I probably shouldn't but I've been really upset today because my temp went down last night and it seems to always go down a bit on this day in a 'normal' cycle which I assume is a bad thing Confused
