Hi ,

I've taken my second tablet on my first cycle and wondering if anyone is due to start there's soon or are around the same time as me?

I know there's already a clomid thread but I think I'd get pretty lost as I'm new to this so was hoping for people to keep each other occupied as we wait in anticipation!
Xx

@Lauren87E Why did he recommend you not stop clomid? Were you having side effects if you don't mind me asking? Fingers crossed the new meds will be better for you
Hopefully you're feeling better now you've had a little bit of a break to reset your mind & restart running, I think everyone has their own ways of coping xx

Lauren87E · 29/04/2020 18:16

@Etonmess20 Hi!
I took a break and said I was uncertain whether to continue the clomid because of of the Coronavirus and he said that he is not advising anyone stop trying to get pregnant, they have just put IVF on hold for now. I’m glad I’ve had a break from it though, not just because of Covid but also how I’ve been feeling. The only side affects I had with clomid was hot flashes, mood swings and awful bloating. All have that has gone now I’m not taking it. I’m due for AF in the next week or so, but I haven’t been looking or even trying to get pregnant. I needed a complete break for a few weeks/month. X

Etonmess20 · 29/04/2020 18:23

@Lauren87E that makes sense, do you think the side effects will be better for you on the new meds? Whilst it affects everyone differently I have had quite a bit of bloating the past few days & it does get you down ☹️

Etonmess20 · 29/04/2020 18:23

@Lauren87E forgot to mention I'm on first month of clomid so it's all new for me xx

Lauren87E · 29/04/2020 18:44

@Etonmess20 the bloating is the worst side effect in my opinion. I’m only 5ft 2 and slim. So my belly sticks out really badly. It does get you down. But it’s temporary, so that helps in a small way. The things we have to put our bodies through is insane!

Etonmess20 · 29/04/2020 21:07

@Lauren87E that's the only side effect I've really noticed if I'm honest, aside from the odd hot flush at night when I was taking them (although it was warmer then anyway). Glad you've got a new plan going forward though & hopefully the new meds suit you better

Chrissy338 · 30/04/2020 08:49

Hey all :) I’m new here...
just wanted to say/ask are you taking the Clomid during the day ?
If you take them just before going to sleep you get no side effects (well I didn’t anyway)
I read it somewhere before I took them and it worked for me :) just passing it on x
Good luck with everything

Lauren87E · 30/04/2020 09:22

@chrissy338
Hi! Welcome to the group! I was taking clomid at night. I found when I was taking in the afternoon, my symptoms were worse. Are you still on clomid? X

Chrissy338 · 30/04/2020 09:25

I only took it when I went to bed and they didn’t effect me at all...

I’m not now no , i had a success after 6 lots 😁😁 but hoping to get back on them soon

Chrissy338 · 30/04/2020 09:26

Oh and thank you 😊 hope to make some new friends here x

Etonmess20 · 30/04/2020 09:54

@Chrissy338 hi & congratulations on your success! Did you do anything differently on your 6th cycle that you think may have made a difference? Also, how long had you been TTC? (if you don't mind me asking). Always lovely to hear a positive story!! X

Chrissy338 · 30/04/2020 11:08

No I didn’t do anything different apart from having a higher dose ... I did 50mg for first 4 tries then 100mg for the further 2 :)
Was TTC for 10yrs x

Etonmess20 · 30/04/2020 11:29

@Chrissy338 oh wow, so nice you finally got a happy ending!! I'm on my first month at the moment so enjoying hearing when it's worked for people!

Chrissy338 · 30/04/2020 11:48

Extra good luck hun.. just relax and let it all work it’s magic 😊 x

Etonmess20 · 30/04/2020 12:37

@Chrissy338 thank you 😘

GinIsTheOnlyTonic · 30/04/2020 12:43

Hello everyone! Nice to have a few more posters!

First tablet of this cycle today...here we go again!

Etonmess20 · 30/04/2020 13:31

@GinIsTheOnlyTonic best of luck!!!

Etonmess20 · 03/05/2020 10:33

Morning All,

I'm currently CD14 & have had a peak ovulation test today, only issue is I've woken up with a UTI 😭 I had some cystitis relief sachets in my cupboard but they say not for use during pregnancy, which obviously while I'm not, I didn't want to do anything that would hinder our chances with this being our first cycle of clomid. Currently drinking my 10000000th pint of water feeling a bit sad ☹️

Hope everyone's ok x

GinIsTheOnlyTonic · 06/05/2020 18:06

Ah Eton I'm sorry I missed this - are you OK? I wish you got a notification when someone has posted on a thread you're on.

Etonmess20 · 06/05/2020 19:55

Hi @GinIsTheOnlyTonic I'm not too bad now thank you, I had to go to urgent care & have a kidney infection. I'm now CD17 & am on (safe) antibiotics until the Sunday so hoping it doesn't affect my chances. I had a serious kidney infection before & was in hospital for a week so glad to catch it early!
How's things with you? X

Etonmess20 · 07/05/2020 11:10

Hi All,

just had a phone call from my local hospital as they are now beginning to get up & running again & want to book me in for a scan to check my tubes are clear in June! As strange as it sounds I'm super excited as I was worried taking the clomid without knowing my tubes are clear!

Hope everyone is well!

Lauren87E · 07/05/2020 12:17

@Etonmess20
That’s such good news!!! I am a bit concerned I haven’t been offered this procedure before treatment. It worries me that if I get as far as IVF then it could fail because of adhesions? Maybe I’m just being paranoid but you would think that further investigations would happen first? How are you all doing? Due AF today but nothing so far. I will be starting the new meds this time. Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend 🥰

Etonmess20 · 07/05/2020 14:06

@Lauren87E I felt the same if I'm honest because when I was first given clomid we were just going into lockdown & I was told I'd be eligible for the scan after the 4 months of clomid so the call was out of the blue really.
I am happy actually as that was my concern too, I'm booked on for 3rd June so just waiting further info on the procedure.
If you're unhappy then maybe you could get in contact with the Dr?

Ps- fingers crossed no AF arrives & you get a BFP!! X

PukkaTeaAddict · 07/05/2020 15:43

Hello ladies! I just thought I’d jump on the clomid train here, I’ve just started my first cycle, I’ve got my third dose tonight. The only side effect I’ve had so far is that my face is covered in spots! Hoping it doesn’t last too long!

Etonmess20 · 07/05/2020 16:12

Hi @PukkaTeaAddict welcome to the group!! That wasn't a side effect I noticed actually, hopefully they clear up quickly for you!
What's your story? How long have you been TTC etc
