Clomid cycle1

Hi ,

I've taken my second tablet on my first cycle and wondering if anyone is due to start there's soon or are around the same time as me?

I know there's already a clomid thread but I think I'd get pretty lost as I'm new to this so was hoping for people to keep each other occupied as we wait in anticipation!

@Etonmess20 exactly! My urine is bright yellow so will dye the sticks! It's got to the point that in my heart I'm hopeful but my brain knows that my AF is coming and I get so upset each month. I have blood tests tomorrow so I'm hoping they find I'm low on iron because this fatigue isn't helping. I'm sat watching desperate housewives. Forgot how good it is, so that's cheering me up!
I can't believe how long we've been trying, it's so frustrating 😢

Etonmess20 · 15/06/2020 18:01

@Lauren87E I do feel for you, I suffer with my kidneys every now & again & the feeling of any type of UTI coming fills me with dread 😬
Is your blood test just a general one? Or are they looking for iron specifically?
I'm the same, I found it really hard for a few months, to the point it was taking over my life & affecting my mood all the time. Now I feel a bit more at peace with it, possibly because I'm taking the clomid so things feel as though they're moving if that makes sense?
How long have you been TTC?

Lauren87E · 15/06/2020 18:11

@Etonmess20 We started trying in August 2017 with a very relaxed attitude, no pressure, no testing and no trying on certain days. As time went on the testing with OPKs started and we started to BD on the days I got a positive. But then it became obsessive and I had to stop doing it and just rely on flo. The dr said we would need to be trying for 2 years before a referral to the fertility clinic. We had our first apt April 2019 and started Clomid in the November 2019. So that's when the fertility dr changed my medication to letrozole in May. So I'm waiting for AF to start so I can take them. If the medication doesn't work in the next three months then we will start the IVF process in august 2020 which will be exactly three years of trying! How ironic! But we have one shot at it. What about you?

Etonmess20 · 15/06/2020 18:57

@Lauren87E oh bless you, such a long journey! I can't believe you couldn't be referred until after 2 years of TTC. We started in October 2018 but, as with you, we were relaxed at first. From February 2019 I started OPK etc, we were able to be referred from October 2019 as it had been a year TTC. We've never had a BFP & all tests have been normal so far.
It's exciting that it'll be a new medication, hopefully it will suit you better than clomid (I assume you had to change as it didn't agree with you?)
So draining isn't it? Especially when it affects your sex life as it feels forced at times (does for me anyway) ☹️ I think you go through good times & bad. We are just buying a new house & I think it helps to have that kind of distraction

Lauren87E · 15/06/2020 19:36

@Etonmess20 I totally agree with you about sex feeling forced. And that's what I wanted to avoid from the start, but then as time goes by, you have to schedule it in or miss possible chances. The dr changed my medication because the clomid hasn't worked, I don't know if this other one is an alternative and therefore might be more suited to some women? Who knows! The side effects seem to be the same as clomid so il keep you posted. Oh how you exciting, that's such a great way to keep your mind off things. Where about a in the uk are you? X

Etonmess20 · 15/06/2020 20:10

@Lauren87E it is hard because if it needs to be a certain day(s) then it makes it very difficult to be spontaneous 🤦🏼‍♀️
I was under the impression it was very similar but suits some women where clomid doesn't (although I could have completely made that up lol!) there's so much to learn it's hard to remember it all! Never thought I'd need to know all this, you assume it'll happen as easily as it seems to for everyone else

I'm SE London, whereabouts are you?

Lauren87E · 15/06/2020 20:20

@Etonmess20
My thoughts exactly. I have two children from a previous 12 year relationship and I've been with my now partner for 7 years and he has no biological children of his own. So when we couldn't conceive I immediately thought it was his sperm, nope! I did have an emergency C-section with my youngest and I wonder if I have had some adhesions and it could be effecting my tubes. When I asked the fertility dr about this at my initial apt, she dismissed it and said it was very rare. Perhaps my eggs are just passed their sell by date lol!
I was feeling okay a month ago, but this month so far has been a bit challenging! I think isolation and not seeing family or even having a decent date night is taking its toll! I live in Wiltshire just five minutes down the road from Bath.

ktl1a · 16/06/2020 07:58

Sorry to hear that the lines have progressed yet ladies, definitly give it a couple of days and try again as that gives the HCG a chance to double if it's there. Hope the UTI clears up soon @lauren87e so frustrating for you!

@Etonmess20 exciting to start your new cycle, sending lots of positive vibes that this is the one! Especially after the HyCoSy flushing your tubes!

Etonmess20 · 16/06/2020 07:59

@Lauren87E it's so hard it being classified as unexplained. At least if there is a reason why you can perhaps get treatment options for the cause etc. Must be especially frustrating when you've had two children before!
Have they done anything like a HyCoSy to check your tubes are clear?
I think you definitely do go through ups and downs with it all, you're bound to when it spans so long & lockdown definitely doesn't help!!
Any sign of AF yet?

Etonmess20 · 16/06/2020 08:00

Morning @ktl1a think we posted at the same time then!! I am a bit excited actually, starting my clomid today so will take the tablet later tonight!

How's things with you? X

ktl1a · 16/06/2020 08:07

@Etonmess20 you should be! I'm excited for you! Hope the next month goes quickly for you :)

Ok here thanks, have had AF-like cramps here and there but alot of people say they get them so hoping it's normal. Time seems to be going slow so hoping it speeds up so I can get to the early scans for reassurance :)

Lauren87E · 16/06/2020 09:11

Morning @ktl1a @Etonmess20 I have done a FRER this morning and it was negative. I'm now on CD37 so perhaps AF will come later? Have a lovely day today ladies. Sun is shining! 😎

Etonmess20 · 16/06/2020 10:11

@ktl1a hopefully so! It was DPs birthday Sunday so we booked yesterday off (we were supposed to be on holiday anyway) so we went shopping which was nice. Back to the daily grind today though 😂 I'm hopeful it will go quickly too, it's the TWW that kills me, I'm sure the mountain of paperwork for our new house will form a bit of a distraction! I'm sure everything's fine but I'd be the same as you & be inpatient for a scan. When are you going to be able to get one?

@Lauren87E sorry for the BFN ☹️ hopefully AF will arrive today so at least you can move on! Sun was shining here at 8am & was red hot while we were doing a HIIT workout outside 🥵 now looks like it's going to hammer it down!

Lauren87E · 16/06/2020 11:05

AF has arrived. At least now I can start the new meds. Fingers crossed 🤞

Etonmess20 · 16/06/2020 11:49

@Lauren87E that's good news, least you can move forward now! When do you start your meds? Are they the same sort of days as you'd take clomid?

Lauren87E · 16/06/2020 12:02

@Etonmess20 yes day 2 and I have two tablets to take. I've just researched the success rate and it looks promising.

Etonmess20 · 16/06/2020 13:03

@Lauren87E fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

ktl1a · 16/06/2020 20:37

Fingers crossed for all of you ladies this month! Each day that passes is a day closer to your BFP :)

@etonmess20 I don't want you to think I'm not thankful for being where I am as I really am, just can't help worrying this time round as i knlw how much it hurts if things go wrong. I'm hopeful though, looking forward to the sickness starting (such a weirdo but will be nice to feel like things are happening). I am aiming to do first scan on the 29th june when I will be 6.5 weeks, just to check baby is where it should be and heartbeat is looking good x

Etonmess20 · 17/06/2020 06:53

@ktl1a of course not, you're bound to be worried & keen to make sure everything's ok. I'd be exactly the same. I know what you mean about the sickness because at least things feel they are progressing then. Not too much longer to wait then (though I'm sure every day is dragging!!)

ktl1a · 17/06/2020 07:20

@Etonmess20 yes exactly, and when I stopled feeling sick last time is when things had gone wrong so I actually like when I am feeling rough. You took your first tablet last night didn't you? Hope the symptoms aren't too bad this time :)

Etonmess20 · 17/06/2020 07:22

@ktl1a I'm really hopeful you've got a super sticky one this time, you deserve it after all you've been through!
Yeah first tablet was last night, woke up a bit hot this morning but think it's just a bit muggy here. Side effects weren't too bad last time so hopefully the same this time 🤞🏻

ktl1a · 17/06/2020 07:36

@Etonmess20 thanks lovely :) Me too!
Waking up hot in the night/morning was literally the only symptom I had the whole way through, I think most of your symptoms happened after ovulation last time didn't they? Keeping everything crossed for you!

Etonmess20 · 17/06/2020 07:49

@ktl1a yeah, I had most of my symptoms in the TWW but at least I know not to get my hopes up too much this time! I'm just going to try & relax about it, we've got the house to think about etc so maybe it'll happen when I'm not expecting it 😂

ktl1a · 17/06/2020 08:05

Yes so true, you cna put symptoms down to clomid and not get your hopes up, then it will be a nice surprise when it happens :)

Lauren87E · 18/06/2020 12:24

Morning everyone, how are you all? I started the letrozole last night at 10pm and have had the same side effects as clomid. Woke up with hot flushes.
