Hi ,

I've taken my second tablet on my first cycle and wondering if anyone is due to start there's soon or are around the same time as me?

I know there's already a clomid thread but I think I'd get pretty lost as I'm new to this so was hoping for people to keep each other occupied as we wait in anticipation!

Hello ladies, I’m on my first cycle of Clomid too, and I had the most unexpected ovulation on day 12. I used CB advanced, but I went from three days negative to static smiley. Now 1DPO and waiting.

Reading all of the stories really helps with the emotional isolation of infertility! Great stuff everyone xxx

ktl1a · 28/05/2020 18:03

Hi @LuluBlondie, welcome to the group! Strange that you didn't get any high days but possibly a side effect of clomid? I just used cheapy tests.

Did you get the clomid from your doctor? And what was the reason for the clomid? A few of us are unexplained and do usually ovulate so got the clomid in the hope of enhancing things.

I had a peak OPK this morning so should ovulate either tonight or tomorrow, very close to you. Fingers crossed it will be our lucky cycle!

Etonmess20 · 28/05/2020 19:04

@ktl1a it definitely has. DP & I are looking to move house at the moment too, so even more stress! I feel a lot better today, just gets on top of you at times doesn't it I? Exciting about your positive OPK, got my fingers crossed for you

@LuluBlondie welcome! Are you TTC #1?

PukkaTeaAddict · 28/05/2020 20:04

@ktl1a your scan sounds really promising! Keeping everything crossed for you that it results in a sticky baby!

@Etonmess20 it must be really hard, but try to remember that it isn't a wasted month! You are either crossing another thing off the list that isn't wrong, or potentially finding a reason for things not happening yet. I have been inspired by your scan and have an appointment with my doctor to talk about potentially getting a HyCoSy!

Welcome @LuluBlondie! I'm also on cycle 1, now 11DPO and keeping everything crossed!

I've been driving myself crazy with symptom checking. I've been super emotional the past couple of days, been having one sided cramping and had the tiniest bit of blood today when I wiped. I'm also starving and been having lots of specific cravings. But I'm trying hard not to get excited as I know it could all be the clomid!

ktl1a · 28/05/2020 20:23

@PukkaTeaAddict oh wow they are interesting symptoms, when would you usually be expecting AF? Can't be long if you are 11DPO! I'm so excited for you and sending you all the luck in the world!

@Etonmess20 Ttc and a house move, major stress! Thanks for your good wishes, I'm looking forward to hearing how you do on Monday :)

Hi folk, Can I join in?

I was put on clomid for ‘unexplained infertility’ in the past. Conceived my DD twin girls now aged 10 on it after 6 cycles. The 6 cycles weren’t concurrent. From what I can remember I was on it for 3 months, took a break of approx 6 months and was then prescribed another 3months and fell pregnant on the second cycle of that 3 month period. Am pretty sure the twins were a direct result of being on the clomid.

Fast forward to now, we’ve been ttc just coming up to a year. GP has done 3 months worth of bloods, semen analysis etc which were all normal, so we have once again started on clomid. Much as I love my girls I am really hoping for just the one this time!

On day 10 of cycle now, literally no symptoms with the clomid this time round, can vaguely remember mood swings and headaches from the last time I was on it.

Wow that was longer than I was aiming for!
Will read full thread now, anyone else on clomid for unexplained infertility? How is everyone finding the side effects etc

LuluBlondie · 28/05/2020 20:59

Lovely messages, thank you ladies. So yes, it’s my first round of Clomid. I have conceived before, but I was young, and unable to proceed with the pregnancy, but this is a much loved and wanted baby in the making! I’m on Clomid to beef up my ovulation, but my clucked are normally 32 days, so to ovulate on CD12 was a massive shock - I couldn’t believe it! Good job we BD the afternoon of CD11......😉

LuluBlondie · 28/05/2020 21:00

cycles NOT clucked !!

ktl1a · 29/05/2020 06:45

@Wackadoodle84 welcome! Glad to hear that clomid worked for you previously, hopefully you get a quicker result this time!

All of us that are now active on this thread are taking clomid for unexplained infertility, we're all on / have had our first cycle. I got a positive opk yesterday but other than cramping/niggles (which I get all the time anyway) I haven't had any symptoms yet, was expecting to wake up to sore boobs this morning but nothing.

@LuluBlondie oh wow that is early to ovulate in that case! Lucky that you had BD so your in with a chance :)

sc1995 · 29/05/2020 08:37

Hey all!!
I took my last clomid pill last night. Thankfully the side effects were not as bad as i expected. apart from the nausea.

I was wondering when would be the best time to start using opks? As this is an unmonitored cycle im not really sure what to expect.

good luck to you allSmile

LuluBlondie · 29/05/2020 09:32

I couldn’t believe my eyes - seriously shocked. My cycles are usually on the longer side, and I normally ovulate around CD17. It all feels very strange!

I’m considering getting private blood work done at CD21. Will this be useful?

Thank goodness for the “just for fun” BD!

ktl1a · 31/05/2020 07:51

@pukkateaaddict how are you getting on? You must be towards the end of your tww now? Fingers crossed for you!

@sc1995 I read that ovulation can happen any time betqeen 5-10 days after last clomid tablet. I started OPK's at CD11 because I know that's the earliest I would get a surge.

@LuluBlondie yeah I bet it was a shock! If you already ovulate regularly the private bloodwork will just tell you that you have ovulated, if you had a really high nunber (I think over 100 but don't quote me on that) then that might indicate that you had more than one follicle. So it depends if you justify the money as you would have to interpret the reading

PukkaTeaAddict · 31/05/2020 08:27

@ktl1a yeah, it's the last day of my TWW. I caved in and did a FRER this morning and it was negative 😕. I'm so upset as I thought this month was our month. I had every symptom under the sun! Now I've just got to wait until AF tomorrow and resist the urge to drink a bottle of wine tonight.

How are you getting on?

ktl1a · 31/05/2020 08:45

@pukkateaaddict sorry to hear about the FRER result :( Try not to be too hard on yourself, the clomid can cause so many symptoms and when your not used to that it's easy to read in to it. You have two more cycles of clomid to take so there's still hope yet. Completely get that you will be upset today though, I'm dreading the end of my tww!

I'm on 3DPO today so a long time to go yet, no major symptoms yet other than some AF-type cramps overnight/this morning (but it's way too early for them to mean anything)

sc1995 · 31/05/2020 10:56

Hi.
@ktl1a thank you. Im currently on cd8 and decided to use an opk this morning. Im more confused. testing too close to the last clomid pill may result in a false positive opk , that's what ive read .

@PukkaTeaAddict ive just read the whole forum and i , like yourself purchased the clomid from instantecare. Sorry about your FRER result. As @ktl1a said, don't be too hard on yourself. Everything will fall into place.

sc1995 · 31/05/2020 10:58

Not really sure what this means Hmm
has anyone else ovulated this early?

Clomid cycle1
LuluBlondie · 31/05/2020 11:16

Hi there. Did you have any negative tests before this one? I had a peak at CD 12 after 5-9 protocol, but had two days of negative bio feedback

LuluBlondie · 31/05/2020 11:18

Oh, I feel for you. Are you going to continue with the Clomid, maybe at 100mg? Did you ovulate this month?

LuluBlondie · 31/05/2020 11:19

I’m going to resist the urge to test anything until next weekend, or that’s how I’m rolling today, anyway!

ktl1a · 01/06/2020 09:55

@Etonmess20 good luck today! Hope all goes well!

Etonmess20 · 01/06/2020 11:47

@ktl1a thank you very much! The consultant was super friendly & explained everything all the way through. Very very minimal pain (was prepared for far worse) & he's said everything looks completely normal. I have been given more clomid & will now be having a scan to monitor me each month. But he's very hopeful I won't need all the clomid 🤞🏻

How are you doing? X

ktl1a · 01/06/2020 11:56

@Etonmess20 that's fantastic news! Great that it wasn't painful (I think it tends to be low pain when the tubes are clear) and so pleased that they will be monitoring you each month, nice to know what effect the clomid is having. Not long and you will be starting your new cycle :)

All fine here, in the tww and counting each day (time goes so slow in this part of the month!) Not many symptoms yet, I was expecting sore boobs but all I've had are period like cramps yesterday (which is unusual for me). Wishing the next week or so away

Etonmess20 · 01/06/2020 12:04

@ktl1a yeah it was just a mild period type pain, the Consultant was great though, talking me through everything as it happened so I knew exactly what he was looking at! I'm feeling positive about a new cycle now, just a couple more weeks to wait!

Ooh interesting, hopefully not too long until you can find out. I think one of us is about due some good news tbh! X

ktl1a · 01/06/2020 12:14

He sounds really good, gives a lot of confidence and you can now go forward with confidence that another box had been ticked :)

Oh definitly! I think we all deserve a bit of luck now! It's been a long time coming. I will know either way at about the same time that you will be starting your new cycle, bring it on!

Etonmess20 · 01/06/2020 13:12

@ktl1a definitely, it's definitely been worth it for the peace of mind that everything is fine.

Super exciting! I've got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 & hope that the next week or so goes as quickly as possible!!
