Ivf March/April?

Hello,
Is anyone starting Ivf in March/April?
It would be nice to have some buddies.

I'm going for pre bloods and scans mid March, and expect to have egg retrieval around.

It's my first round, have been ttc for over a year and a half - unexplained infertility 🤷🏼‍♀️

How is everyone on this Sunday afternoon?

Tarsette · 29/03/2020 15:50

Are any of the ladies in the 2WW going to do an early HPT? I’m trying to hold out until 8dp5dt as I had a pretty bad experience during a past cycle with a test showing up negative and then the blood test a day later was positive so I want to avoid that emotional rollercoaster this time round!

Blacksheep33 · 29/03/2020 16:12

Hi @tarsette. I’m 6dp5dt today and stupidly stupidly did a test today. It’s the first bfp I have ever had but I’m worried it’s just the trigger shot still in my system! Especially as I had a dual trigger injection of supercur and Ovitrelle.
No idea why I decided to test, had promised myself I would wait until 9dp5dt!
Definitely advise you to stay strong and wait until OTD! And good luck!!

41trying · 29/03/2020 16:51

Hi @Tarsette and @Blacksheep33.
I will probably test 12d post transfer as I had a 2DT, I'm sure it should be out of system by then, but who knows.
How are you both feeling?

Blacksheep33 · 29/03/2020 16:58

Hi @41trying I think 12dp2dt should be fine. That will be 16 days after you did your trigger injection which should be ok - when is your OTD?
Mine is on Wednesday which is 9dp5dt and 16 days post trigger which must mean that a test would be accurate at that stage.

I’m really annoyed at myself for caving and doing a test today. I wasn’t intending to at all and just had a moment of weakness. How are you feeling? It’s really very stressful isn’t it - stakes are so high :-(

Elouera · 29/03/2020 17:36

@Tarsette and @Blacksheep33- yes, I have been testing. I know you aren't supposed to, and read ALL about the likelihood of BFP from the ovitrelle. I started testing at 9d post transfer of day 5 embryos. I've tested daily (I bought loads of cheapies online, which happen to be more sensitive than the ones the hospital gave me!) and its been BFN every time.

Official test day is wed- April Fools!!! Guess I have a few days left. My 1st round, so all new to me.

41trying · 29/03/2020 17:45

@Blacksheep33, my OTD is 10th April, which feels like a million miles away. Fingers crossed for your official OTD if you have had a BFP.
Stakes are definitely high for all. This is my last attempt so days are going very slowly, I have had a few niggly cramps

Lianne32 · 29/03/2020 18:33

Hey guys had a quiet weekend anticipating my day 3 update for my embryos and scared!! How is everyone

Tarsette · 30/03/2020 04:36

@Blacksheep33 oh I know all about the temptation to test! This time, I made sure I don’t have any tests at home so now way to test (unless I go out and buy one which hopefully gives me enough time to reconsider and give up the plan!). Having said that, I will test tomorrow (8dp5dt) which seems long enough! I actually don’t think the trigger shot would still be in your system at 6dp5dt so fingers crossed you will able to confirm that BFP on Wed!
@41trying hope you will find some things to keep busy even during the lockdown! These 2WW are hell!
@Elouera don’t lose hope just yet! Like I said in a previous post, I tested negative with a cheapie the day before I got a crazy high blood test result!

Some of the best advice I was ever given on how to deal with IVF is: 1. imagine the worst and hope for the best (to avoid the disappointment of having gotten your hopes too high up) and 2. Have a plan ready in case you get a BFN as it is always better to know what you are going to do afterwards (another cycle? Give up? Surrogacy? Etc.) rather than face uncertainty on top of heartache. So I am trying to apply both of these strategies!

Elouera · 30/03/2020 06:46

@Tarsette- Thanks for the advice. Yes, having a plan for the next steps if BFN is a great idea. Always great to hear from others that have done it all before.
Best of luck testing today. My cheapy test thismorning did have a very faint 2nd line! Not getting too excited, but will be interested to see tomorrows test and my official one on Wed.
Stay strong ladies xxx

Blacksheep33 · 30/03/2020 10:08

Thanks @Tarsette - the wait between now and Wednesday seems like forever! 7dp5dt today and resisting the urge to test again because I know I’ll be over analysing! Sounds like you are also 7dp5dt today then? Did you have a fresh transfer?

@Elouera I have everything crossed for you that the line gets darker!

My clinic didn’t give me a pregnancy test because they normally do bloods but aren’t doing them at the moment because of Covid19. So I’ve been left to my own devices and told to test on Wednesday (9dp5dt). Anyone know what sensitivity test I should use or whether it matters? Does 9dp5dt sound early for testing??

@Lianne32 do you get your update today? Best of luck

Elouera · 30/03/2020 10:18

@Blacksheep- My clinic gave me 2 home tests which can only detect 25iu/ml hcg. Way back, I bought a huge pack of 'one step' from amazon. They can detect 10iu/ml, and were the same type we used in a medical clinic I used to work in.

Check the packaging, and go for the test which can detect the lowest number of iu/ml. I believe the frer/'test 6 days early' type ones are 10iu/ml, but heard of ones down the 5iu/ml, although never seen them myself. Best of luck x

bunhead34 · 30/03/2020 10:33

My clinic called and 4 of our seven fertilised eggies are growing well. Wil get another update on weds and they are looking to freeze then.
They've got me taking progesterone until then, just in case they can't freeze for any reason.
My tummy is so big and sore! X

Hey so my day 3 update is as follows

1x 10 cell - Grade 1

3x - 8 cell - Grade 2

1x - 6 cell - Grade 2/3

1x - 6 cell fragmentation - Grade 3

3x - 4 cell stage! Slow development at the moment - Grade 3

Hope everyone is well! Congrats @bunhead34 on your 4 lucky stars xx

Blacksheep33 · 30/03/2020 12:46

Thanks @Elouera! The test I used at 6dp5dt was a digital one which just indicates pregnant/not pregnant - I don’t know what strength it was (but it was an ‘early detection’ test)
I’ll buy some of the frer ones with the lines for Wednesday.

@bunhead34 and @Lianne32 sounds like you both have a good number growing well - fingers crossed for day 5 x

bunhead34 · 30/03/2020 13:51

@Lianne32 waw your update is so detailed!
Congrats - those are great numbers!

I had just woken up and can't really remember what she said 😭 she def said 4 good ones tho 🤞
I will be more awake for my weds update!!

OP posts:
Tarsette · 30/03/2020 14:22

@Blacksheep33 yes I’m also 7dp5dt! And my blood test is also on Wed. I reckon if you hold out until then to test, you should be getting a credible result. And if you got a positive on a digital sign, that is very promising as they are usually less sensitive (at least the Clear blue ones)! I am going to test tomorrow and even if it is negative try and keep hope until Wed!

@Lianne32 and @bunhead34 congrats on this great numbers! Keeping everything crossed for your day 5 update!

41trying · 30/03/2020 15:50

Afternoon all, well they are both great updates. Hold strong now until Wednesday.
How is everyone feeling?

41trying · 30/03/2020 19:30

I've made a TWW group if anyone would like to join.
TWW March April 2020

Tarsette · 01/04/2020 09:04

So I went in for my beta today and it was 12... Yesterday I tested and saw a very faint line, which was gone on a new test this morning so I was expecting the result but it still hurts. I guess it must have been a chemical. It's the first time this has happened to me and I actually think this is so much worse than getting a clear cut BFN. I spent all of yesterday full of hope and now I have to brutally come down from that. A friend of mine gave birth this morning so I've also had pics of a newborn streaming into my phone all morning. Great. I'd decided beforehand I was going to give this one more try (I still have 7 frozen embryos but only one of decent quality, all the others have C's in them), so now I just need to figure out when to do my next cycle. A part of me wants to start again immediately (I live in Hong Kong and the IVF clinics are operating as normal) to get it over with and another part of me thinks I should rest my body and wait until May.

I'm hoping the other ladies waiting for results today will have had more luck than me!

bunhead34 · 01/04/2020 10:23

@Tarsette I'm so sorry 💐
Was it your first cycle?
It's great that you have lots more in the freezer, and you have the option to use them right away!

OP posts:
bunhead34 · 01/04/2020 10:26

I've had an update from the clinic, we have two blasts to freeze today, and potentially another one if it catches up tomorrow.

Now just hope we don't have to wait too long to use them
