Ivf March/April?

Hello,
Is anyone starting Ivf in March/April?
It would be nice to have some buddies.

I'm going for pre bloods and scans mid March, and expect to have egg retrieval around.

It's my first round, have been ttc for over a year and a half - unexplained infertility 🤷🏼‍♀️

Morning all, I hope everyone is as well as they can be. D6 of stims for me and appointment scan tomorrow, I haven't heard anything to tell me otherwise. Getting so close now I do hope it's not cancelled. As I am private I would think if they cancel I would have to pay for all drugs again which I really dont want to do.

Hoping1 · 17/03/2020 09:49

I spoke to my clinic yesterday and they said IVF is going ahead i am in today at 1.30. All they said is you have symptoms self isolate for 2 weeks xxxx

41trying · 17/03/2020 09:50

@Hoping1, is it EC today? If so good luck

LongtermTTC · 17/03/2020 09:56

Hi all, anyone else on here due to push the button to start IVF in the next couple of weeks and unsure whether to start the process if it might be cancelled part way through? x

Hoping1 · 17/03/2020 09:58

It to start injections xxx

41trying · 17/03/2020 10:53

@Hoping1, oh I see, I think it will depend on clinic to clinic.
@LongtermTTC I am unsure what the answer is as I think it will depend on each clinic.

West2401 · 17/03/2020 14:34

@longtermttc just had a call to say mines been cancelled until further notice. Understand completely and think it's the right thing but still completely devastating xxx

41trying · 17/03/2020 14:47

@West2401, where in cycle were you and private or NHS if you dont mind me asking

Nmvasey · 17/03/2020 14:59

Unfortunately my cycle got cancelled today after 2 weeks of DR. Like most I am disappointed but the right call. I did ask if they were cancelling everyone and they said people due for EC this week will go ahead but it will be a freeze all given they don't fully understand the risks and they need to deploy staff elsewhere. People on early stims were also cancelled. Every trust and clinic are very different so keeping my fingers crossed for those who are yet to hear.

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 17/03/2020 15:32

@Nmvasey - what clinic is that if you don’t mind me asking ?

Nmvasey · 17/03/2020 15:34

@Xx40yearsyoungxx of course not. I'm north.. Gateshead Queen Elizabeth

41trying · 17/03/2020 15:54

This is not making me feel positive for tomorrow at all. This was last attempt as I'm 42 as well, so even if I get to freeze it would be probably a long time before they would attempt to put bk.
Just who knows.
Has anyone been cancelled from private clinic not attached to a hospital

MrsEminem · 17/03/2020 16:35

Sad unfortunately I am now out this month. Rang the clinic yesterday to start treatment and they booked me an appointment for bloods and a scan this morning. Went in this morning everything was fine treatment still happening, went to the pharmacy and collected all my medication ready to start injections tomorrow. Then have had a phone call this afternoon saying that all treatment is now cancelled until further notice.

Wishing everyone else the best of luck

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 17/03/2020 16:54

Oh @MrsEminem - so sorry to hear that
Is that NHS or private ?

MrsEminem · 17/03/2020 17:26

@Xx40yearsyoungxx am rather gutted by the news but I suppose they have to do what they have to do. (Stupid Virus). We are having NHS funded treatment at the hospital.

NRW39 · 17/03/2020 17:40

My FET has been cancelled (12 days in) we've just found out by email. I completely understand why they had to do it, but I am so f*ing gutted. I'm devastated to be honest. I had a feeling it was going to be the case, but it's still a big blow.

No money lost - that's something... We're self funded, but our hospital will pay to replace the medication we've used so far.

Oh God. This is just a terrible. I'm gonna have a drink tonight.

Hugs to you other ladies that have had their cycles/treatment cancelled.

Hard times ahead due to this virus

NRW39 · 17/03/2020 17:42

@Lizzybee80 I see your cycle has been cancelled too. Sorry love!

@Lemongrass1 how are things your end? Have you heard anything from the hosiptal/clinic?

Lemongrass1 · 17/03/2020 17:47

I’m so so sorry to everyone who’s cycles have been cancelled- this absolutely sucks. I’m in the same boat- although I had to chase them myself to get an answer. I’m a private patient at a NHS clinic if anyone is wondering. What I found most upsetting though was that the nurse started going on about how they don’t know how it affects pregnancy and how the clinic may not have a future?! I get that she’s worried about herself and her job (she’s being redeployed elsewhere in hospital) but that made me feel even more crap about the situation. If this goes on beyond this year then I think our attempts at TTC are over 😢

Have given up on my healthy diet and eating a chocolate bar. Look after yourselves everyone

Lizzybee80 · 17/03/2020 17:52

@NRW39

Aw I’m so sorry to you too. 😓
It is a big blow, especially when we’ve all been mentally and physically preparing ourselves for this for so long!!

I’m sorry to everyone else that have had theirs cancelled.
Let’s rephrase- prosponed!

We will go again ladies!

Have that drink tonight- I know I will.
Stay safe ladies
Big love to you all xx

West2401 · 17/03/2020 18:39

@41trying we were due to start ovaleap in 2 weeks, currently on progesterone tablets. I'm NHS. Feels like such a long slog, sending love to anyone going through this. Another emotional battering xxx

AliciaWhiskers · 17/03/2020 22:03

Has anyone else seen the ESHRE statement?

In summary:

“ As a precautionary measure - and in line with the position of other scientific societies in reproductive medicine - we advise that all fertility patients considering or planning treatment, even if they do not meet the diagnostic criteria for Covid-19 infection, should avoid becoming pregnant at this time. For those patients already having treatment, we suggest considering deferred pregnancy with oocyte or embryo freezing for later embryo transfer.

ESHRE further advises that patients who are pregnant or those (men and women) planning or undergoing fertility treatment should avoid travel to known areas of infection and contact with potentially infected individuals.

ESHRE will continue to monitor the scientific literature, especially in relation to ART and pregnancy. And reaffirms the view that all medical professionals have a duty to avoid additional stress to a healthcare system that in many locations is already overloaded”

NRW39 · 18/03/2020 08:05

@AliciaWhiskers Thanks for that. I've just read their statement in full and forwarded onto my boyfriend.

I'm full of emptiness today. I can barely speak. I will get through this though. I know because I've survived 5 cycles already. I just need 'time' to get my head around the news.

These threads have been a lifeline for me...

Hope everyone is doing ok this morning (or as best as they can be...) XFlowersWine

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 18/03/2020 08:37

@41trying good luck today
Thinking of you
X

@NRW39 I know what you mean Ref barely being able to speak

Sending everyone love

Hello :) can I join?

I’m in Australia. Have just had an email from my clinic saying they are proceeding as normal, with increased focus on hygiene. That studies so far have shown no affect on pregnancy due to clovid19. Very different to what has been said in this thread :/

I am CD7 of my first cycle of IVF! Had a scan yesterday and I have 16 follicles so far. But they’re really small. Biggest was 9mm. The rest were 3-8mm. Have another scan CD9.

I hope those who are close to EC will still go ahead. So devastating for those who’s cycles have been cancelled :(

AliciaWhiskers · 18/03/2020 10:19

Our clinic is still apparently going ahead. We have FET tomorrow.
