Ivf March/April?

Hello,
Is anyone starting Ivf in March/April?
It would be nice to have some buddies.

I'm going for pre bloods and scans mid March, and expect to have egg retrieval around.

It's my first round, have been ttc for over a year and a half - unexplained infertility 🤷🏼‍♀️

Good luck @Elouera hope it all goes well today! Enjoy the toast 😊

Nmvasey · 16/03/2020 07:03

Thanks @Blacksheep33 @41trying I'm definitely going to ask. I don't have my DR scan until next Tuesday so I'm doubtful I'll get that far before it being potentially cancelled. Will just have to wait and see, will keep taking buserelin

Wesstywoo · 16/03/2020 07:21

@Elouera good luck!

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 16/03/2020 07:23

Good luck everyone today !
Hopefully you all have good news from your clinics and that they let all cycles that are started continue.....
Thinking of you all

Pez3 · 16/03/2020 11:40

I called my clinic this morning and looks like may not get booked in this month for treatment due to covid-19. Have been told to still call when AF comes (which is due this week) but is likely that won’t be able to get booked in 😕

Elouera · 16/03/2020 11:43

Thanks everyone for their kind wishes and good thoughts. I'm already home and feeling fine! Much quicker than I thought. 12 eggs retrieved and OH's sperm looking good. They are going for self-fertilisation (not sure of the term?) rather than ICSI, so shall find out tomorrow how they go. Thanks again x

takingthistooseriously · 16/03/2020 12:01

Hi @Pez3 I haven't called my clinic to ask but I'm in the same position as you - AF due end of the week, drugs arrived this morning so all set to go. keeping my fingers crossed they don't delay it - presumably they would call me? Fingers firmly crossed for you too

Lizzybee80 · 16/03/2020 12:07

Hello ladies

I’ve had some news today that our cycle is being cancelled, they’ve had daily updates and said due to it being non essential and not emergency care they have to follow the current guidance.
I’m absolutely devastated, I thought considering we started, we would continue treatment. 😓😓

Hope you are all well and fortunate enough to continue 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

F**k you Covid19

Xxxx

takingthistooseriously · 16/03/2020 12:31

@Lizzybee80 I'm so sorry, that is awful news. I am guessing that a lot of us will be in the same position Sad

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 16/03/2020 12:39

I’m so sorry . I think this will be for all of us . Stay strong everyone x x x

seven201 · 16/03/2020 12:49

Please may I join? I'm due to start FET when my period arrives this week. if covid19 doesn't stop it of course. Had a fresh cycle in January, transfer failed early (low progesterone) so using one of our two frozen eggs and paying a fortune for progesterone injections.

@Lizzybee80 so sorry to hear that. How far through/in are you? Must be so devastating. Do allow yourself to be just massively angry and upset and then when you're ready pick yourself up. If you don't mind me asking is it a NHS or private clinic?

Lizzybee80 · 16/03/2020 12:59

Thank you ladies xx

Agreed, let’s try and stay strong together.

@seven201 it was a big blow, one I wasn’t expecting. I broke down at work but gave myself some time and know I have to carry on.
The hard part now is not knowing when it’ll start again! I’m with an NHS clinic in Devon.
I would like to think if people are at EC/ET phase they would still continue but don’t know for definite.
Are you private??

Lizzybee80 · 16/03/2020 13:00

Sorry @seven201just realised I didn’t answer your question. I was about 10 days in, ready to start stim this weekend with first scan thurs. xx

Blacksheep33 · 16/03/2020 14:03

@Elouera that’s a great number of eggs! You must be so pleased! Fingers crossed you get lots of good embryos!

@lizzybee80 I’m so sorry to hear that. So disappointing. Hopefully once you are given the green light again everything will be smooth sailing - I suspect lots of us are going to face cancellations and hopefully this way you won’t have the stress of a potential cancellation hanging over you once you get going.

Matilda128 · 16/03/2020 14:05

I'm so sorry to hear about the cancellations. My clinic is part of Care but uses the facilities of the local hospital. I've just got a message that at the moment they are monitoring the situation but currently it is business as usual (apart from having extra health screenings). In terms of payments they say that if your treatment has to be cancelled you keep your previous payments as credit until your treatment can be rescheduled. So the only thing you might have to buy again is the medicine (if you have used some of it or it has gone out of date). It's still such a big gamble and I'm still expecting it to be cancelled but started taking the pill today. If I had been younger and had better blood levels then I would definitely wait. Now I feel I don't have a choice apart from hoping for the best xxx

Matilda128 · 16/03/2020 14:08

I'm so sorry the message above was for a different post- I'm not sure what happened. With the stress of it all I seem to be loosing my mind Smile x

takingthistooseriously · 16/03/2020 14:31

@Matilda128 fingers crossed for you. I am also using care but it's not connected to a hospital. Think I will see how things play out this week and call if I haven't heard anything, I don't want to use up any of the medication if it will be wasted

Matilda128 · 16/03/2020 14:48

Thank you for your reply @takingthistooseriously I think Care will keep going for as long as possible to avoid serious financial problems and I think it is good that your clinic isn't connected to a hospital but uses their own facilities. My egg collection is only scheduled for mid April so there so much time still for things to get worse. Sad Taking it one step at the time I guess. Good luck with everything x

seven201 · 16/03/2020 14:53

@takingthistooseriously I'm with care too, also one not attached to a hospital. I rang up and paid for my meds this morning. I wish we could all fast forward six months or so and have this period of our lives over and done with!

@Lizzybee80 well done for pulling yourself back together. Ttc is all we ever think about and you mentally prepare yourself for each bit, so when there's a spanner in the works, it's just so so rubbish. I hope you get to re-start ASAP.

Hoping1 · 16/03/2020 16:17

@Racs83 have you heard anything about treatment xxxxx

Racs83 · 16/03/2020 16:20

@Hoping1 I was thinking the same. My appointment is at 10:30 in the morning so just going and see what happens. How about you? X

AliciaWhiskers · 16/03/2020 19:02

I'm due to have ET on Thursday. Given that pregnant women are probably supposed to self isolate for 12 weeks, I have no idea what to do for the best.

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 16/03/2020 20:28

@AliciaWhiskers have your clinic said they would continue with transfer if you wanted to ?

AliciaWhiskers · 16/03/2020 21:49

I rang them today (but before the latest statement from Boris) and they said they have no plans to close unless the government change their guidance, so yes I think they would go ahead

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 17/03/2020 09:27

Has anyone spoken to their clinics today ?
Any clinics proceeding with E/c and transfer in April ? X
