Been reading lit about acupuncture is that any good and what time is best to start . I am day 6 stimms is it too late ?

@BambiOnIce80 sure there is something to always worry about. I am glad you have 8 embies. They will grow grow grow.

My clinic said they'd ring me on day 3 either way @Feline123 to let us know how they're doing and if we need to do a day 3 transfer or not, so we won't hear from them on day 2 👍

@Lily999 if you can pop your leggings and your skirt off and have a top that you can hoik up, then you should be OK 📍👌🏻 On the split cycle front, I don't think they offer them up for funded NHS patients, but we're self-funded at an NHS clinic and they were happy to do a split cycle for us given that we're primary unexplained and egg permeability can sometimes be an issue 🥚 It just offers a little potential fail safe for those of us who are paying and can't afford to do more than one fresh cycle 💸

Welcome @twinkleyes35 👋 Stims is apparently a good time to have an acupuncture session as it might help follicle growth and lining thickness (allegedly - I have acupuncture because I find it relaxing and the acupuncturist is really knowledgeable about infertility stuff, but I'm still a sceptic 😂). I had headaches on and off on stims too and various twinges and bloating, so as annoying as it is you're sounding pretty normal 😉 Is your next scan on day 10? Sounds like you must be progressing along nicely if they're keeping your dose the same 🙂

Will be able to tell you more about acupuncture after tonight, this will be my first ever session. I was very much against the whole idea as I am not a very spiritual person in gerenal (more like a 2feet on the grouns firmly kind), but this whole IVF is giving me so much stress, anxiety that my husband told me I need to do something to stay sane and heard many good things about it on this thread so decided to go for it.
@BambiOnIce I found a place near Falkirk that is more accessible for me, they only do 60minutes per session so I am a bit concerned it will be too long for me too, but we'll see :)

@BambiOnIce80 my clinic said I’d hear from them on Friday to arrange ET on Saturday unless they need to call me in earlier, so I’m hoping for no phone call until Friday lol by the way don’t feel guilty for calling in sick, your body has been through a lot recently and even if you feel ok, you still need to rest! x

@Lily999 unless you’re uncomfortable being in your pants & top, then that will be ok. I had acupuncture this morning in my vest and pants as I had on a long sleeve wool dress & tights.

The Ovitrelle has done a number on me today - I am so tired and foggy and desperately trying to do some heavy lifting (intellectually not physically) before I’m away for EC on Thurs & Fri. I haven’t told work as don’t want to be prematurely sidelined as “going off on maternity” when I don’t know whether this will work so I can’t moan to anyone AND I can’t have coffee to prop myself up

@BambiOnIce80 @Lily999 thank you for warm welcome guys 🙏🏻. I just got call from hospital that bloods are fine & follicles too I think I have 3 good size and 6 smaller. Not sure if these are good numbers. Next scan on Friday which will be day 8 ( I guess coz it's wkend day 9/10) but advised to carry on with same dosage . Wil defo be contacting some acupuncturist in glasgow tomorrow first thing x keeping fingers cross x

Need advice I had an appointment booked for hair colour tomrow not sure if I should go or not due to chemicals and all . Please advise 🙏🏻 just being over precautious

@twinkleyes35 I'm also on day 6 and have first scan on Friday!
I've got a constant headache and my tummy is feeling sorer by the day especially at night it's so uncomfortable!
Was so nervous for egg collection at first but now I can't wait to get it over with 🙈
I also looked into acupuncture however the place near me was fully booked so I may investigate further x

I hear you @Lily999 🙏 I'm very logical, pragmatic and scientific in the way I think, so very much not into woo 🔮 However, the world health organisation even says that there looks to be some benefit to fertility from acupuncture, so I thought "what can it hurt?!". I hope you get on OK tonight 🍀

Thanks @Feline123 ❤️ I had one of those upbringing's where you always went to school/work unless you bearly had a pulse, so I feel soooo guilty about ringing in sick for a bit of pain! 😣 I haven't been off sick for years either, but needs must 😔

@jcurve I found the ovitrelle to be the worst bit too. I was very ready for those eggs to come out of me yesterday!

@twinkleyes35 I had my roots done on day 10 of stims. Hair dye is way less harsh nowadays, so don't think it'd be getting into your blood stream/tissues 🤔 Our clinic in Edinburgh certainly didn't put it on the no-no list (unlike booze and caffeine 🍸🍵🚫😭). Sounds like you're progressing nicely from your scan results too 😊 I only had one good sized follicle and a few a good way behind it at day 6, but they got 14 mature eggs out of me yesterday so you sound like you're doing very nicely 👌🏻

@BambiOnIce80 what day did you had your EC?

@LBJ2410 I am very nervous for EC. I just had lot of anxiety and fast heart beat after the first scan this Morning ... it's like knowing of unknown hate this feeling.. think need to keep myself busy and distracted

I had it yesterday @twinkleyes35 , which would have been day 13 of stims. I think the longer we're on stims the quicker the action on our follicles seems to be 🤔 I had a scan on day 9 & 10 (due to my oestradiol coming back toppy) and the growth in that 24 hours was quite impressive 🥚

@twinkleyes35 yes I worry about anything and everything and the whole process makes me so anxious! It's good to know most people going through it on this group feel the same though.. makes you feel less crazy 😂

Is anyone taking utrogestan with the applicator? How far do people generally insert? The next worry about not doing something correctly 🤷‍♀️🙈

I start on it tomorrow @Nmvasey and I asked the clinic nurse the same question! 😂 She said if you don't use the applicator, then pretty much as far as a finger will push it (!! 😳). So with the applicator it's basically as far up as you can get it that still feels comfortable. I think my curse of being very susceptible to yeast infections and years of using canestan pessaries is about to hold me in good stead! 😏

I used the applicator tonight @bambionice80 so guessing just as far as it’s comfortable but perhaps finger depth. Wonder why I start tonight 🤷‍♀️ Wasn’t expecting 3 times daily. Ah you’ll be a fab hand!

Hopefully I'll be both fab and dab @Nmvasey! 😂 I was surprised by the 3 times a day too - definitely not looking forward to the logistics of doing the lunchtime one at work 😕

@Nmvasey @ BambiOnIce80 can I ask what utrogestan, is it like a progesterone?

It is indeed a brand name for progesterone @Rovera12 - have you started yours?

For those of you starting progesterone - a friend of mine used a mooncup to keep the mess under control! Said it especially helped her to feel less gross at work. She hadn't had IVF though - not sure if cups are ok after EC?

Day 7 stims. I'm suddenly really bloated and sore ☹️. Just tried on loads of things in my wardrobe to find something to wear to work tomorrow which doesn't make it look like I have a bump 😩.

@BambiOnIce80 ok, I started cyclogest on the night of egg collection 400mg twice daily.

@Chooklass up the bum is much better! (Sorry if TMI! 😂) A bit weird the first coupe of times but then you get used to it, and no mess at all 👍
