First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

Ditto: good luck everyone!

@Melissa1983 we got a 4BB (just one) that is now frozen. We quizzed the embryologist at length and she confirmed they were happy with the quality, and otherwise agnostic between AA and BB embryos.

My period has arrived 12 days later and it’s bloody awful (excuse the pun). Not particularly heavy but very, very uncomfortable. I’m trying to stay away from naproxen but ibruprofen and paracetamol are really only taking the edge off. I’m having my follow up next week and hoping to get my surgery booked in ASAP.

Sabz36 · 29/01/2020 08:25

@notReginaPhalange some I apparently woke up and was like "oh I am awake am I supposed to be " the anaesthetist was like "not really" and my response was ok I'm going back to sleep now and went back to sleep loooool

Lily999 · 29/01/2020 08:35

Morning! We are at the clinic just arrived and I've been staying since 6:30. All I can think of is whether they get any eggs or when can I have some food? :)
I am only going in theatre at 12:30 so it's still ages away...
Keep thinking what if none of my follicles contain eggs or they are all shitty, I guess it's the usual fear before first ever egg collection from someone who's never seen a bfp... ?

Minster2012 · 29/01/2020 08:40

@Lily999 that’s exactly how I was!! What if they are all empty?? What if it’s nothing?!

It’s all irrational fear! Did you take snacks with you? I took something really nice for afterwards to think about then didn’t fancy it!
Try stay calm!

@Sabz36 I was talking rubbish through my EC then I’m glad my DH was there as he heard some stuff I didn’t when I was out of it about one follicle hiding & being hard to get too and that’s why I was then uncomfortable afterwards but that’s unusual, my second EC wasn’t like that

Parkandride · 29/01/2020 08:44

Good luck with EC guys, I smashed a McDonald's afterwards, apparently there's some old wives take about McDonald's chips during ivf so I'll happily follow that advice Grin

huffleclaw · 29/01/2020 09:29

On the way to the clinic now. Don't have to be there until 10...think they must have a very busy schedule today!

Wouldn't normally have eaten anything yet but I am missing my coffee!!!

@Lily999 I have exactly the same follicle/egg worries. Said to my Acupuncturist last night...what if they are all just posturing and there is nothing actual in any of them.

@Minster2012 that is what I am worried about. At one scan they said my left ovary was high and said that it might make it more difficult to get to in egg collection but it was ok because they would just push down on my stomach to get to it if needed!

Will just be glad to get these follicles drained now though to be honest! I'm so over being so full and bloated now! Although my husband seems to think I will magically feel ok once they are drained and I have to keep reminding him that I am having a horrible procedure that I will need to recover from too!!!

Think these last bits of waiting are going to be the worst!!

Dia12 · 29/01/2020 10:03

Good luck with the ECs today! Hoping you all get a good number of healthy eggs.
Enjoy the snooze if you can, it's all over and done with so quickly.

Congrats on the two good grade blasts @Melissa1983. I wouldn't worry too much about grading, I was told by one of the nurses that natural pregnancies occur from all sorts of grades of blasts.
Will you transferring both or just the one?

BambiOnIce80 · 29/01/2020 10:18

Good luck for EC today @Lily999 @huffleclaw! 🍀🤞🍀🤞

Lily999 · 29/01/2020 10:33

Thanks, I sort of know it's irrational, but still keeps coming back to me. Crazy times.
We are still waiting, I've just got paracetamol and had a chat with the enbryologist, they keep asking us to confirm names and date of birth that's I guess a good sign, but still a bit strange. :)

Lily999 · 29/01/2020 10:52

Hubby just left to give his sample taking his noise cancelling headphones, bless him :)
I'm still just waiting and starving, so nothing else to report.

huffleclaw · 29/01/2020 11:50

@Lily999 I am the same! Waiting and hungry and really thirsty!! I have been drinking 3 litres of water a day because of the OHSS risk so it's a real shock to the system not drinking anything!

My other half has done his sample and we are now just waiting in our little cubicle to be called. Trying to read but ending up dozing!!

Chooklass · 29/01/2020 12:10

Good luck you guys - that's a looong wait!

OP posts:
huffleclaw · 29/01/2020 12:14

@Chooklass thank you! Really hoping it won't be too much longer!!

Stace999 · 29/01/2020 12:17

We are all done and almost back home. EC was fine I have a low resting heart rate so they had to keep an eye on that but all went swimmingly. And best of all we got 9 eggs which I'm really happy with. I was a bit sore afterwards but no worse than period pain and iam just really tired now. Off to bed for an hour when I get home then the rest of the day taking it easy. Good luck everyone else! Xx

huffleclaw · 29/01/2020 12:34

@Stace999 well done!! 9 eggs is fab and glad to hear that you aren't feeling too bad!!

The anaesthetist has just come to speak to me and talk me through everything so hopefully won't be too much longer!

huffleclaw · 29/01/2020 13:59

Out and in recovery!

Apparently I talked most of the way through...which isn't surprising but I don't remember anything really!

Have collected 16 eggs so very pleased.

And it's so too to be able to eat!!

How are you @Lily999 feeling ok?

Lily999 · 29/01/2020 14:42

Hiya! We got 10eggs, now on our way home. Had the most delicious toast I've ever eaten in my entire life :)
They'll call us in the morning, for now I'm just glad it's done and looking forward to eating and spending the rest of the day watching Netflix.

rainbow178 · 29/01/2020 15:20

@Lily999 we got 10 too!

Well done to all the Wednesday EC girls, I am a bit uncomfortable and sore and tired but not too bad. Now got the joy of pessaries to start........

Dreading the call tomorrow!

Lily999 · 29/01/2020 15:34

Great news for al EC numbers girls! I'm absolutely knackered.
Did they tell you how many of them are mature?

Minster2012 · 29/01/2020 17:13

Excellent news for the egg collections well done ladies!! @huffleclaw @rainbow178 @Lily999 & @Stace999 you should be so pleased 🤞🏻🤞🏻For good fertilisation& growing

Not so good news for my scan, my womb lining 6.8mm not the required 7mm for FET next week though we are going ahead but on Friday 7th not weds to give more time for extra plumpage!

We have added embryo glue too, is anyone else using this???
I hope my illness hasn’t stopped it too much but least I feel better now so I think it can get better & more hospitable for an embryo!

Chooklass · 29/01/2020 17:23

Well done egg collectors!!! That's another major IVF milestone ticked off - now get plenty of rest! X

@Minster2012 sounds like you're nearly there though! Impressive considering how ill you've been! X

Dia12 · 29/01/2020 19:09

Some excellent egg numbers - well done all. Hope all goes well for fertilisation tomorrow.

Are you on estrogen or anything else to help the lining @Minster2012? I tried embryo glue in last cycle as it has an amber light from the hfea and there is some evidence it improves pregnancy and importantly there are no risk involved in using it.

I'm anxious about tomorrow's day 5 update and have managed to really confuse myself about having PGS. our clinic is very pro-pgs as ive had two chemical pregnancies from 2 ICSIs and two spontaneous chemical pregnancies.
There is so much conflicting information out there I have no idea what to do. I'll have to make up my mind quite quickly as I'm sure they'll be wanting to biopsy any blastocysts tomorrow 😕

Minster2012 · 29/01/2020 21:20

@Dia12 yes I’m rattling from stuff to boost my lining! Estrogen 4 x 4mg per day for the past week, will be over 2 weeks at that dose next week, prior to that about 2 weeks at 3 x 3 mg & 1 week at 3 x2 mg plus buserelin daily for the last 2 weeks 😂

They say similar for embryo glue at ours, no real risks & most people have it I think it was just a cost we were hoping to avoid 😫

I can’t help on PGS I’m afraid have not experience of TTC let alone pregnancies!

justkeeprunning5 · 29/01/2020 21:49

@minster2012 It sounds like you are nearly there with the lining, another week to go and I’m sure your lining will be perfect to receive the embryo. Doing really well especially after being so poorly.

Have they been monitoring you over the last few weeks whilst adapting your tablets? Just wondering as I’m just on 4x 2mg a day and 20 of buseralin and been left to my own devices throughout!

Minster2012 · 29/01/2020 22:13

Hi @justkeeprunning5, yes I’ve been monitored & changed dose but over a long period of time... so start of tablets & check scan after Xmas was 3.1.20 at 3 x 2mg estradiol for 2 weeks (til 17.1.20) then add in buserelin on 16.1.20 at 0.5ml per day plus go to 4 x 3mg estradiol per day
2 nd scan at 22.1.20 was meant to fix transfer a week later for 29.1.20 (today 😥) but not thick enough so upped dose of estradiol again to 4 x 4mg per day and continue another week of buserelin
Scan again today instead 29.1.20
Still not thick enough but ok so few more days so continue 4x 4 mg estridiol & buserelin til Friday (31.1.20) where the week before transfer stop buserelin & start pessaries with continued estridiol

So yes monitoring but only changing dose of estridol & lots more buserelin than anticipated 😂
