First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

Well done all for getting trigger done! My boobs are mega sore as well but other than that, feeling ok! I'll be all done this time tomorrow- scary!!

Lily999 · 28/01/2020 10:49

When we woke up after midnight and looked outside it was beautiful btw, so white and pretty, very nice scenery! Wasn't as thrilled this morning when I had to drive to work, but made it in safely. Hope the weather won't go nuts tomorrow because we must be at the clinic we have a clock ticking!

Glad you are feeling ok, hope I can join you in the 2WW soon (everything going well we should have ET either Saturday or Monday).

@rainbow178, @Stace999 and @huffleclaw how are you feeling today? I think I will be the last one tomorrow for EC mine starting at 12:30.

Lily999 · 28/01/2020 11:06

Oh @Chooklass forgot to ask did you find out if any of the other embies are good for freezing?

Stace999 · 28/01/2020 11:07

@Lily999 Iam OK today no more uncomfortable than the past few days. My dog decided to jump from the floor straight on to my stomach this morning (10kg of solid terrier!) felt like I had been kicked by a horse! Made me realise there is quite a lot going on in there!
I have a busy work day today driving around and meetings so wont have a lot of time to think about tomorrow. Hope everyone else OK its nice to have a day off injections, if a little weird!

Chooklass · 28/01/2020 11:17

@Lily999 Will find out this afternoon x

Lots going on around this thread!!
Good luck to any with EC today or tomorrow, sorry hard to keep up when dipping in & our!

@justkeeprunning5 I had terrible headaches & night sweats for the first part my first hormones were a weird under the skin Hormone releaser not patches (you know like old arm contraception but in my belly?)

Now hopefully in final stages on estridol 4 x4 mg per day for an extra week after lining wasn’t thick enough last week & buserelin. Should have been FET tomorrow but got another scan tomorrow & should bow be next weds 🤞🏻🤞🏻

We’ve been doing this since November cycle so seems like forever!!
Also I got really sick last week from our toddler (IVF 1st time FET to my best friend as surrogate) who gave me norovirus & I ended up in hospital for 3 days & now got eye ulcer which could compromise my sight 😥so I’ve been laid up for a week now so feeling very negative bout this one

Lily999 · 28/01/2020 11:43

Hi @minster2012 glad to hear you re feeling better, if you have ET next Wednesday it means we will be in the 2WW at the same time with the "Wednesday EC girls" :) (if I make it that far, this will not be a relaxing week for sure)

huffleclaw · 28/01/2020 12:14

@Lily999 feeling pretty rubbish now I've stopped for lunchtime!!

Nursery children are exhausting at the best of times...

I am exhausted, period like pains and feeling a bit nauseous and exhausted!! Absolutely delightful! My boobs are sore too @rainbow178, although they have been pretty sore and swollen all the way through stims!

Mine is at 12.15 so just before you!!

And definitely don't worry about your follicle size @Lily999 I'm sure they will be perfect size for tomorrow. You definitely don't want a 30mm!!

What did you all trigger with? I had suprecur which having had a quick google seems to be given to stop OHSS.

Hope everyone's afternoons go ok and we all manage to sleep tonight!!

I also have Accupunture this evening @Lily999 looking forward to it and hoping that it will help me feel a bit better!

notReginaPhalange · 28/01/2020 12:23

Got a call from the clinic, 4 out of 6 eggs collected are fertilised. I think it's a good start. Booked the day 5 ET for Saturday, they said they don't do day 3 at all. Meaning if the embrio doesn't survive to blastocyst there is no point to transfer at the cleavage stage as it won't survive either.

What are the chances that none of the embrios make it to the blastocysts? I would hope at least one would make it...

We are thinking of transferring two eggs to go for twins. Did anyone have experience with that?

notReginaPhalange · 28/01/2020 12:24

@Chooklass I feel much better today, back to work now but I work from home so I can still take it easy. How is your 2ww going? Are you not driving yourself crazy yet? I probably would, I have been doing IVF meditations so hopefully they will help :)

Lily999 · 28/01/2020 12:38

@huffleclaw these are the hours that go the slowest I would say!
We will be so close together in time, I am a bit freaking out as the leaflet says it will be "conscious sedation" I hope I won't feel or remember anything!
Looking forward to acupuncture tonight as I am pretty nervous, hope it will help.
I triggered with Orvitrelle, it was pretty much the same as the Gonal-F I used to stimm, so wasn't a big deal really, it was just the odd timing more than anything else plus a bit more side effects.
I think I will be the last one tomorrow because they want to allow more time for my follicles to grow and that helps put my mind at ease :)

@notreginaphalange 4 out of 6 is great! It is interesting your clinic won't do day 3 transfers, rather risky and we do know about kids who were transferred on day 3. Did you ask whether you can request this or it is just a no go, period? Are you private or NHS?

notReginaPhalange · 28/01/2020 12:44

@Lily999 it's through NHS but they are doing it in a private clinic in London, I don't know how that works.
They said they haven't done day 3 for 5 years, I found it risky as well because from what we were told by the NHS team in East Croydon where our fertility team is and referring us to places, it might be day 3 depending on the devlopment. Today they called me to check the update from the London clinic and she was surprised as well when I told them they don't do day 3. I mean I don't mind, but I would prefer day 3 than none...

Maybe those that worked on day 3 were strong goos quality embrios rather than dying and transferred as the last chance?.. I don't know

Chooklass · 28/01/2020 14:45

Only one of our other 4 was frozen. Bit disappointed to just get one frozen and one fresh from 11 eggs but also grateful to have another chance in the freezer 😊. She didn't mention it's quality and I forgot to ask!

It kind of explains why we haven't got pregnant naturally with that rate!

Lily999 · 28/01/2020 14:52

@notReginaPhalange I see, I would still ask about this as you only have limited number of funded cycles on NHS and you do want the best chances as we all..

@Chooklass I think it's great you have one on ice in case this fails or if you'd like a sibling in the future, you should consider yourself very lucky as lots of us don't even get one to transfer. I will force myself to be positive over the next few days, so far I am lucky that my body responded well also that we got to the EC phase without cancelling the round or OHSS, you know kind of a glass half full kind of way.
I don't have many follicles, but I could definitely have less and I feel lucky for getting the short protocol and having pretty much no side effects.
Focusing on the little positive things :)

notReginaPhalange · 28/01/2020 15:07

@Chooklass what happened to other embryos?

Chooklass · 28/01/2020 15:15

Oh absolutely @Lily999 ! I'm all for positivity 😃. I was just saying to OH last night how well it's all gone, despite feeling crap and not knowing if it's worked! I think until you are in the process you don't realise how many stages can potentially go wrong!

Don't be worried about conscious sedation - it's lovely! Don't fight it, embrace it! When I start feeling the drugs work I just close my head and focus on my breathing and then I wake up later and it's over. I've a friend who it didn't work for, she was awake and chatting the whole time but didn't feel a thing and was still really chilled, just not sleeping! Xx

OP posts:
Chooklass · 28/01/2020 15:19

@notReginaPhalange I didn't think to ask! The nurse sounded really rushed on phone and it wasn't until later I thought of all the things I should ask! We did sign a form saying we were happy to donate 'unusable' material to science/ research so maybe that?

OP posts:
notReginaPhalange · 28/01/2020 15:46

this sedation thing apparently has something to do with alcohol intake - if your body is used to it, you might be slightly awake like @Chooklass 's friend or spark out like me. I rarely drink alcohol, maybe that's why it took me ages to wake up. My OH said when they brought me back I apparently was saying "guys, you've been amazing, thank you so much, amazing, wow, thank you guys" and along those lines... Not that it's not nice but I kept repeating it and he heard me from the corridor haha not embarassing at all.

And then when I properly woke up I decided to thank them without realising that I have done it like millions times since I was back haha. Oh dear.

Minster2012 · 28/01/2020 17:29

@notReginaPhalange on the day 3 thing it’s difficult, our clinic does day 3 but “only in extenuating circumstances” for which our first FET was, in that because we were had prepped my best friend as a surrogate so paid privately had waited an extra 6 months & only had 2 embryos we transferred a day 3 as they said “long as it was still growing its better in a natural environment than in a lab”

It worked & we have an 18 month old DS

But your clinic is correct & for our second EC ours wanted to grow all onto day 5 saying the same that to make a baby they would always have to become a day 5 anyway so I understand why yours do too. So our first one would have done the same

Check if yours don’t make it to day 5 is that your funded cycle over? Some say not I think
Xxx

Minster2012 · 28/01/2020 18:44

& @Lily999 it will be great to be buddies!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

notReginaPhalange · 28/01/2020 18:49

@Minster2012 I feel better now, thank you. Yes, we need to find out what they count as an attempt. I'm pretty sure they said an attempt is the ET, but feel like double-checking now.

Minster2012 · 28/01/2020 21:03

@notReginaPhalange that would be good if they count ET as your go as in that case they / and you know they are only transferring embies that have a true shot at working, ours said unfortunately lots do fail in between day 3 & day 5 so it was a gamble but as we had spent 6 months preparing my friend too we didn’t want to not transfer anything as we had already paid & everyone including her family were so emotionally invested not to try 🤷‍♀️

For ourselves though now it’s strange to think we are transferring the day 5s first “over” the one remaining day 3 embryo that was from our sons batch as it’s me trying to carry this time.
Day 3 & 5 can both work, but day 5 are always the preferred & can lead to better embryo selection
🤞🏻🤞🏻For yours growing to day 5 xxx

huffleclaw · 28/01/2020 21:49

How is everyone feeling this evening? Ready for EC tomorrow?

I feel really bloated and in pain and exhausted. Accupunture helped so was glad I went. She reassured me about it not being the end of the world doing a freeze all! (Which I knew, but it's nice to hear again!)

Hoping I manage to sleep tonight now!

Melissa1983 · 29/01/2020 03:41

Hi Ladies it's good to see a lot of progress on here. Good look for with EC tomorrow.

My update on my 7 eggs collected is 4 fertilised normally and 2 made it to good quality blastocyst (both 4bb) does that mean anything to anyone? They are now frozen and after surgery next month I'll take some time to recover and transfer later in the year.

@twinkleyes35 how did your embryo do, hoping you had good news xxx

Chooklass · 29/01/2020 06:30

Good luck with all the egg collections today!! 🤞🤞🤞❤️
