First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

I've been feeling really heavy and uncomfortable since day 8/9 stims @rainbow178 - also hoping it's a good thing!

Good luck with EC and transfers today ladies

Bestofyou1982 · 21/01/2020 11:05

So I'm 20 minutes early for appointment as was worried I was going to be late. Oops! The whole full bladder business is tricky. Let's hope I don't wet myself during FET, that would be rather embarrassing.
Thank you for the good luck messages.
How's everyone else doing today?

Lily999 · 21/01/2020 11:42

Good morning! Fingers crossed @twinkleyes35 for your egg, have you heard back from the clinic today re fertilisation? Same for @Melissa1983 hoping for all good news today!

@Chooklass and @rainbow178 I really believe feeling heavy is a good thing as our ovaries should feel big and swollen due to all those great follicles with eggs in them so please try and look at it as a good thing even if it's uncomfortable.

Waiting for your updates @Bestofyou1982 hope everything goes smoothly.

Day 5of stimulation for me, first scan is tomorrow morning, can't wait to see what is going on in there! Still no major side effects to report, I was a bit PMSy last night, politely pointed out to DH that I closed 6cabinets after him whilst he was making dinner then he said "And you were worried the hormones are not working, eh?" :) Then I felt so guilty not focusing on the fact he made dinner, but thinking about why is he just unable to close the kitchen cabinets whilst doing so?? :D

Anyhow, this morning I added the second injection (Ganirelix) so from now on I have one in the morning and one in the evening, I quite like doing them as it feels like I am actually DOING something :)

rainbow178 · 21/01/2020 13:24

@Lily999 that's what I've been telling myself- I have lots of eggs on board!! Will find out what the situation is tomorrow at my first scan!! 🤞

Bestofyou1982 · 21/01/2020 13:35

So I managed not to wet myself but only because I was told I could go to the loo pre embryo transfer and just drink 3 cups of water whilst waiting to go in phew.
Transfer was a slick process and pain free. A bit like having a smear test. Was I treating to see what was going on in the screen. Didn't take long at all and now I'm home distracting myself from starting a mental 2 week countdown with some crappy TV. Work can wait until tomorrow.

To those ladies feeling heavy pre egg collection, I'd say from my very limited experience, it's a good sign that follicles are swelling nicely to accommodate eggs.

twinkleyes35 · 21/01/2020 14:00

@Bestofyou1982 wow well done and fingers crossed ... x

I had my call this morning so far so good x keeping fingers crossed that ET takes place on Saturday x any suggestion if shuld doET before 5 days x ?

candycornlover · 21/01/2020 15:49

Best of luck @Bestofyou1982 🍀🍀

Can I ask why they told you to go to toilet, then to drink water? Were you perhaps a bit too full? Mine is on Friday and I was told to come with a comfortably full bladder, whatever that means lol

Wish this week would speed up a bit, it feels so long and it's only Tuesday lol xx

rainbow178 · 21/01/2020 15:55

Definitely hoping all these twinges and feeling like I'm carrying round tennis balls in my stomach is a good sign!

I booked a facial for Saturday for a bit of relaxation and now wondering can I actually go!? I think I will still just be on stims drugs by then- what do you guys think? I know treatments like this aren't encouraged while pregnant....but not sure about in my current state!? advice?

Melissa1983 · 21/01/2020 16:05

Hi Ladies

Of my 7 eggs collected 4 are fertilised and my next update will be Monday to see if they've reached blastocyst stage......how can I wait that long? 😱

OMG I had the worst night in pain, I think it's my cysts to be honest, the girl in the bed next to me sounded on top of the world and I was lying there thinking how can I be expected to leave next. I'm feeling better today just a bit sore.

@twinkleyes35 glad to hear you had positive news today too 😊

Thinking of you all and so grateful for this group, sorry I've not replied to everyone once you start typing you can't go back and forget what everyone's said xxx

Minster2012 · 21/01/2020 16:23

Everything crossed for a sticky embie @Bestofyou1982! Relax now!!
And good number @Melissa1983 well done!

I’m still driving myself crazy with have I done too much exercise, caffeine/everything in advance of lining scan tomorrow afternoon to see if FET can go ahead next weds it feels like SUCH a long time away 😥

still angry with DH things still strained which makes me so negative

Lily999 · 21/01/2020 16:24

Congrats @twinkleyes35 and @Melissa1983 for fertilisations! So exciting to see now how they are going to be developing. Monday seems a bit long, will they not give you any update until then? Will that be day 6 or today counts as day 0? Sorry if it's a silly question.

Ladies, I am worried about my mental wellbeing as I found myself waiting for 9PM so I can stab myself again. I hope I won't get addicted to this! :)

@rainbow178 I would go at this stage I don't think you should worry about a facial and you will benefit from the relaxation bit for sure.

jcurve · 21/01/2020 16:29

Congrats @Melissa1983 that is good news. Fingers crossed that all 4 make it to the next stage!

We had a day 5 progress call this morning. Of our 2 eggs, one has made it to Day 5 and was good quality but not quite ready to freeze, so we’ll make a decision tomorrow.

Minster2012 · 21/01/2020 16:36

I would also go for the facial @Lily999 sounds lovely! Bit weird bout the stabbing though!

That’s good @jcurve fingers crossed!

Chooklass · 21/01/2020 16:42

Great news @jcurve and @Melissa1983 !

OP posts:
Lily999 · 21/01/2020 16:46

Haha @Minster2012 I think it must be about moving forward with this as every time I do it I feel like I have done a bit more to succeed and time is not standing still so we are getting there :)

Lily999 · 21/01/2020 17:19

I am about to go home from work and hopefully sleep until my first scan, I am so nervous... Can I please ask you to try and remember what numbers ans sizes did you have on your first scan so I know what is to be expected @BambiOnIce80 @41trying @UnicornPuff @MissHoney85 @Feline123 @Rovera12 @Chooklass @Sabz36 @twinkleyes35 and everyone else who has had their first scan?
Thank you!!

rainbow178 · 21/01/2020 17:21

@Lily999 yeah I think I will!!

I am exactly the same, watching the clock waiting for 9pm- same stabbing time as you! Because it's another little step closer!! How many days stims are you now?

Good news re some fertilisation, fingers crossed!

41trying · 21/01/2020 17:31

Evening all
@Lily999, I know you are trying to compare with everyone but believe me it will drive you crazy. Are you on short? If so they maybe bigger than people on long, as we got DR before hand and you wont have. If I can give any advice, so with the flow. I was the same with waiting to inject every evening as yes it does feel like you are doing something to help.

Feline123 · 21/01/2020 17:40

@Lily999 I was a bit naive going into scans (and wasn’t on this forum at that point) so didn’t really know too much about sizes and numbers - they didn’t tell me much on my first scan, just said whether it was going well and if I’d need to change my stims dose. They did mention sizes at later scans but I didn’t really take it in because I was just trusting they knew what they were talking about lol now that I understand that all more now, I’m glad I was naive to it! So my advice would be to not worry too much about sizes and numbers as it’ll drive you crazy 😜

Sabz36 · 21/01/2020 17:50

@Lily999 I had my first scan Thursday had 15 follies 5 dominant ones and most of them in my right. Went back on Monday and had same number but they growing nicely they considering EC Friday but I should know after my scan tomorrow. It's like running towards a high speed train. At first it's far away then it get close so quickly and panic sets in

jcurve · 21/01/2020 17:56

@Lily999 if it helps, I had 11 follicles on Day 6 - the biggest being 4 x 12mm and 1 x 10mm.

Someone have me the tip to take a notebook to my appointments so I could write down everything being said, it seemed a bit silly at the time but it came in really handy!

Bestofyou1982 · 21/01/2020 17:58

Lovely to see so many positives and people moving forward this week. Alongside the long waits at every stage of this process which re driving us all a little crazier than we would like.
@candycornlover was told to have full bladder. I Live an hour from IVF clinic. Had over done water before leaving and on drive down so was uncomfortably full by time I got there. They suggested urinating and just having 3 small cups of water to top up. During FET they said my bladder was still full so all good.
Good luck to anyone with appointments or ivf calls due tomorrow xx

UnicornPuff · 21/01/2020 18:16

@Lily999 on my first scan my lining was 10 and I had 10 follicles ranging from 9- 16.
I agree that you should try not to compare because it will drive you insane, however I have never been able to follow my own advice so cant expect you to! Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Chooklass · 21/01/2020 18:49

What others have said @Lily999 - comparing will send you mad! My clinic told me very little at scans, just that it 'all looked on track', so I tried to go with the flow and trust the experts, despite wanting to know every little detail! Think I had around 5 or 6 at 7-8mm and other little ones, lining was 8mm. I remember being a bit disappointed, but 5 days later there were loads more and huge (without any change of dose)!
