First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

I have made a TWW group if anyone would like to join.
Its TWWJan/feb 2020

Lily999 · 20/01/2020 18:06

Sure it does, I think I might be getting a bit emotional haha (meds finally kicking in?) also have some strange abdominal pain just below my ribs above my stomach, anyone else had this during stimulation?

Sabz36 · 20/01/2020 18:06

Hey everyone

Just came back from my second scan which went well 15 follies which have grown loads since Thursday. Dr is bringing me back in Wednesday for a scan and possible blood test. She then said possible collection Friday. Que panic...I have waited impatiently for a date for egg collection now I'm panicking as it means it's all real now. Is this thought process normal...ish

41trying · 20/01/2020 18:11

@Lily999, no worries, I was a total bitch when normal laid back. And yes I did have that a couple of times

Melissa1983 · 20/01/2020 18:40

@BambiOnIce80 yes I'm happy with 7 it's prob the best I could ask for with a lower AMH and one ovary accessible. I felt awful after EC though, quite a lot of pain.

@Lily999 I had EC today ready for an operation so my embryos will hopefully be frozen for later in the year but I'll keep on the groups as I'd love to see how everyone gets on xxx

Melissa1983 · 20/01/2020 18:50

Hi Girls, I hope this isn't a really silly question but what happens to the eggs not collected? They could've access my right ovary so what happens to the follicles/eggs? Also when can I expect my period? X

41trying · 20/01/2020 19:02

@Melissa1983, they will just be absorbed into your body, just like in a normal cycle.
As for period, I think each person is different, but I had mine 2 weeks after EC when there wasnt nothing fertilised

Nmvasey · 20/01/2020 19:26

Hi ladies just catching up, some great news and some not great news. I’m still feeling a bit anxious after my bad news and have a knot in my stomach unless I’m distracted. Some of you amazing lot have been through this 2-3 times already, any tips on how to deal with the disappointment and stay positive? I’ve ordered a book called the universe has your back and some supplements which are apparently good for egg quality.

Wishing you all lots of positive news and developments over the coming days!

Minster2012 · 20/01/2020 19:37

Good news and bad news for ppl, sorry to hear the ups and downs again and thank you very much for the update @41trying!

Good luck to those in TWW! But I might have to watch your thread though Cos I want to know what happens to each of your stories and also if you have/don’t have symptoms I think it’s good to have a spread & see what we might feel!

twinkleyes35 · 20/01/2020 19:47

Hi all , just had my EC today and they only got 1 so we went for ICSI ... bit disappointed on number but as they say it only takes one .. so keeping fingers & toes crossed ... and they're nothing more we could do at this stage apart from praying xxx just pray for me guys that this tiny one survives x

Well done @Melissa1983 sounds good number and hope you are waiting for your phone call tomorrow x

Chooklass · 20/01/2020 20:14

Bloody hell - my ovaries are SO sore tonight 😩😩😩. I'm dreading doing my trigger shot later - will it make them worse? I don't think I can work tomorrow like this. It's ok to take paracetamol isn't it?

OP posts:
Chooklass · 20/01/2020 20:15

Got everything crossed for your wee egg @twinkleyes35 - well done!🤞

OP posts:
twinkleyes35 · 20/01/2020 20:36

@Chooklass thanks Hun 🤗. Staying positive 🙏🏻x

Paracetamol is safe to take . I have advised at the hospital in case if I had to x

Bestofyou1982 · 20/01/2020 20:41

@UnicornPuff good luck with TWW. Try to stay positive.

@Kellyprt1 I'm so sorry for your news. Such a blow after all of the waiting and processes undertaken. Take time to consider all of your options. There is always a way to move forward even if it's not the preferred or first choice route. Big hugs to you!

I'm trying to stay calm as have first FET tomorrow but already imagining the call where embyros don't survive thaw process. This is closest we've gotten so feel there has to be a disaster on the horizon. Any advice on egg transfer? Top tips for tomorrow would be appreciated.

BambiOnIce80 · 20/01/2020 20:56

Sorry that you're in pain after EC @Melissa1983 💐 Same happened to me, but I found paracetamol really took the edge off of it 💊👍🏻 Does this mean that you should be on for your birthday treat at the weekend? 🎂🤞🏻

@Sabz36 it sounds like things are coming along nicely at your end 👍🏻 I panicked too - so much waiting around and then suddenly it's going so fast! It'll be fine.x

Well, you were worried about lack of symptoms @Lily999 so the being emotional should be a good thing, right?! 😉 Not going anywhere, so don't worry lovely 😘 I think @41trying 's idea is a good one though - I'm trying not to symptom spot, but it'd be nice to have a space where we can bore each other to death with every niggle! 😂

It absolutely only takes one @twinkleyes35, so sending tonnes of positivity to you and your egg 💓

I've been thinking of you @Nmvasey ❤️ Any news on when your follow up appointment will be?x

I was very ready for my ovaries to be emptied at the end @Chooklass! Paracetamol is fine, but avoid ibuprofen at all costs (our clinic said that). Ibuprofen can prevent implantation, so a definite no-no.

Best of luck for tomorrow @Bestofyou1982 🍀 My clinic said to try and watch comedies and keep happy after ET as apparently it's been shown to have better outcomes... can't hurt to try, right?! 😉

Bestofyou1982 · 20/01/2020 21:02

Thank you @BambiOnIce80. Worth a whirl. Have taken rest of day and Wednesday off to stay active but calm and stress free as once back in school it's zero to 100. There's no inbetween. An afternoon of comedy sounds good.

Hope you are doing @BambiOnIce80?

UnicornPuff · 20/01/2020 21:09

Thank you everyone. After a good sleep and cherry picking my googling I am feeling a lot more positive.

@Bestofyou1982 I have my fingers crossed it all goes well for you tomorrow. It was so much better than I expected. The worst bit was the speculum.

@BaileyBadger4 I am sorry this happened to you. Especially as you have worked so hard to meet the criteria. I would suggest calling and asking for another appointment to discuss your plan. If they do not do this then going back to PALS because you deserve to fully understand the process especially if they expect another 6 month wait. Would you be able to move clinic or see a different consultant at the same?

BambiOnIce80 · 20/01/2020 21:15

I'm alright thanks @Bestofyou1982 😊 No symptoms at all, so trying to not read too much into that 😣 That said, "the internet" says that if all is well the embie should be hatching on day 6 & implantation shouldn't occur until days 7 to 9, so I'm guess nothing would be happening until tomorrow at the earliest 🤔

Nmvasey · 20/01/2020 21:24

@bambionice80 fab news for you, exciting times but must be also terrifying! Got everything crossed for you.

Follow up is next Thursday. A nurse rang me the day after to check in and see how I was, they’ve been really lovely. When I asked when I could start again they recommend at least 1 natural cycle but also depends how you are emotionally as to whether you’re ready. My follicles were all a good size which would suggest they were mature but it wasn’t the case - they’ve said there are different things and timings which they can try and the first time can be trial and error. Bit of an emotional rollercoaster for a guinea pig run but I know what they mean.

BambiOnIce80 · 20/01/2020 21:41

That sounds like a really positive plan @Nmvasey 👍 It's great that they followed up on you the next day too (restores a bit of faith in the NHS machine). We get 3 counselling sessions included at our clinic, which I think I'll be taking advantage of if/when this cycle doesn't work. Does your clinic do something similar to help with the emotional roller-coaster side of things?x

justkeeprunning5 · 20/01/2020 22:34

sorry to see some not so positive news for some on here. Sending you all best wishes, this process is horrible.

Thanks for summarising @Lily999 I am awaiting a medicated FET due to take place next month.

rainbow178 · 21/01/2020 07:40

So sorry to hear some bad news, it's heartbreaking isn't it, we put so much time, effort and emotion into this it's hard to take. Take some time to recover ladies.

Good luck to everyone with special cargo on board!!

I am now on day 9 of stims and am feeling quite uncomfortable....feel really 'heavy'- does that make sense!? Hopefully it's because I am full of eggs!! If only.....

Minster2012 · 21/01/2020 08:41

Good luck @Bestofyou1982! Fingers crossed xx

Chooklass · 21/01/2020 09:27

Yes, good luck with your FET today @rainbow178 🤞

My ovaries don't feel so sore today, but my boss is letting me work at home anyway so at least I'll be more comfortable. So nice not having any injections today! Getting nervous about EC tomorrow now! 😬
