First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

@Pinkstars2501 I had my ET on Friday, had pessaries an hour prior and the doctor just used some washing solution to clear the way. You should be fine, good luck!

Viletta · 19/01/2020 21:34

Hi all,

I hope it’s okay to jump in, had 6 day embryo FET on Friday. It’s my 4th time trying, 2 fresh and 2 FET so far, never saw bfp, we’ve got MFI. Good luck everyone!

Pineaurouge · 19/01/2020 21:42

Hello ladies. I hope you don’t mind me joining you. I have my first appointment on Wednesday with my clinic. We have actually been before 2 years ago but we had a house move and lots of other work things getting in the way so postponed.

We are in France so I think it’s different over here. Everyone gets ivf up to age 43 regardless of if they have children or not. It’s funded for 3 cycles and then if successful you can have it again if you wish for more children. I have 2 DDs 13&11 but my DH of 5 years has a low count and we have been trying unsuccessfully for 3 years.

We have been waiting 4 weeks for our appointment, will see our doctor on Wednesday and then start our testing on my next cycle. Unfortunately I think it will fall when I’m on holiday so will probably have to wait until March. They aim to start treatment within 2 months.

Any advice would be greatly accepted.

@twinkleyes35 I've been trying to kill time too and had a little pamper and relax ready for tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous for results but so glad it's here.

Goodnight Ladies xxx

Dia12 · 19/01/2020 22:35

Welcome to the group @Pineaurouge and @Viletta

Sounds like you're in the right country @Pineaurouge, it seems they are really responsive to a growing demand/need for fertility treatments, and amazing that they are more realistic about the upper age limit too.
Do you think the low sperm count will necessitate ICSI?

Hi @viletta, I remember you from previous posts. Congrats on having your embryo on board, hope the TWW goes smoothly and quickly! 🤞🏼for you.
We have MFI too and currently day9 of 300iu of gonal f.

Dia12 · 19/01/2020 22:40

Good luck @Melissa1983 and @twinkleyes35 for your ETs tomorrow. Hope they go well.

Yay for @bambionice80 and your little embie!

Lots of luck for all of them to be sticky ones!

Pineaurouge · 19/01/2020 22:44

@Dia12 thank you for the welcome. Yes I do feel very lucky as we would not be able to afford to pay for it if we did not have funding. The government pays a percentage and our medical insurance covers the top up as with all medical treatment here.

I’m not sure on what they will do re ICSI. I’m trying to understand all the lingo, and in French, which I’m finding difficult. I’m taking a block of post it notes with me Wednesday because I know I will get lots of paperwork! As is the french way Grin

I’ll try and get everyone’s usernames in my memory. Sending positive vibes to you all x

Pinkstars2501 · 19/01/2020 22:59

@Viletta Thankyou

Embryo transfer today and I am so worried as I slept SO badly last night 😢 I have now googled (I know, I shouldn't have!) and found lots of studies about poor sleep and reduced chance of success. I spent a lot of last night in tears, so we can add stress to the mix too. I am really worried I have messed this cycle up now. 🙁

Lily999 · 20/01/2020 08:27

Hi @FlapJackered please try not to stress, and focus on getting the embryo on board this morning. In my humble opinion if worrying/bad sleep would affect success probably IVF would not work at all. Can't honestly believe there are women who are just not anxious whilst going through this process. We do IVF because we want a baby so badly that we put our bodies under so much stress, hormonal imbalances etc. of course we care and that automatically means we worry.
I have been thinking about the fact the last three months I have been so stressed I can feel a lump in my throat almost constantly. This can't be great for the growing eggs, but I believe the period leading up to starting IVF is the most stressful part and that is exactly when we are developing these eggs. We can't escape or stop worrying, it's completely normal and we all feel it (Ithink) but IVF still works so try and think about this. :)

Pineaurouge · 20/01/2020 08:36

@FlapJackered try and relax a little, don’t pay attention to doctor google! I hope the transfer goes well Flowers

justkeeprunning5 · 20/01/2020 08:54

@FlapJackered Please try not to worry, as others have said this whole process is hugely stressful and sleep loss is inevitable. If stress were a factor in failure I cannot see how it would ever work for anyone, and it does, so don’t pay attention to Dr Google (easier said than done I know!).

Also I was once told that stress has no factor on the ability to get pregnant - I take this into my thinking about IVF too.

Wishing you all the best for your transfer.

justkeeprunning5 · 20/01/2020 08:59

Anyone here doing a FET / having done one before able to comment on their emotions whilst taking Buserelin and oestradiol? I’m trying to work out if I feel extra emotional due to these (and the obvious stresses of this entire process)? I had a baby bomb yesterday and it’s made me feel utterly dreadful!

Minster2012 · 20/01/2020 08:59

Hello to @Viletta & @Pineaurouge what a great system in France!

Congrats to @FlapJackered, please try not to worry, sleep has no significance to that embryo xxxx

BambiOnIce80 · 20/01/2020 09:49

Oh @FlapJackered ❤️ I'm no expert, but that sleep thing pre-ET sounds like nonsense ( aka, 🐮💩). If it was that significant then clinics up and down the country would be handing out sleeping pills for the night before ET 💊 And, whilst I managed to keep off "the internet" yesterday, I've failed miserably this morning! 😄 From what I've read about embryo development this morning they don't hatch until day 6, followed by trying to implant over days 7 to 9, so please don't worry about last night's lack of sleep or blame yourself for anything whatsoever. You're doing great.x

Lily999 · 20/01/2020 10:02

Thinking of you @FlapJackered today!

@Rovera12 and @BambiOnIce80 have you heard anything back regarding your other embryos whether you will have frosties in the freezer?

So, day 4 of stimms, tomorrow morning I am starting Ganirelix as well so will have one injection in the morning and one in the evening and I am still not feeling anything at all. Nothing. Please somebody say it's not unusual still on day 4 ?? I am getting so worried it is not working :(
Will find out on Wednesday morning I guess, but still... I should surely feel something, right? Or not? I am going insane here :)

FlapJackered · 20/01/2020 10:12

Thanks so much everyone, I don't know what I would do without you ladies ❤️

Talk about an emotional rollercoaster, clinic called and all 3 embryos are great quality! So they don't want to transfer today but wait until Wednesday for a 5 day transfer! I am so relieved! At least now I have a second chance at getting a good nights sleep before. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Lily999 very wise words, I think when I'm tired all rationale thinking goes out of the window. God this IvF malarkey isn't half stressful!

Thanks @justkeeprunning5 @Pineaurouge ❤️ dr google is the worst, especially at night, it's like an endless rabbit hole of clinical studies and forums. 😂

@BambiOnIce80 thanks lovely 😘 how are you feeling about it all? What dpt do you think you will test? DH and I have been debating this this morning as he is going away 9dpt but is 8dpt too early?

Chooklass · 20/01/2020 10:35

@FlapJackered That's great news!! God this is such a roller coaster, isn't it!? I'll echo other's wise words by saying sleep/ stress can't have much effect on the embies - or it would never work xx

My scan this morning (day 12 stims) went well - follies have grown loads over weekend! My largest on Fri was 14mm - now it's 22! Got 5 others over 18mm and lots just behind that too. Triggering tonight with EC on Weds. Still a very real worry about OHSS though so I'm not getting hopes up of a fresh transfer. I also start strong antibiotics today because I have endo (so higher chance of infection). My poor body! 😩

@Lily999 I've been on same dose as you and felt nothing until day 7 or 8, and then only off and on. I was panicking today (day 13) that I had no symptoms 😂, and my follies are massive! Xx

OP posts:
Pinkstars2501 · 20/01/2020 10:35

@Lily999 I was told that no side effects is just as normal as loads of side effects. People don't generally write about the average times, only the extremes.
I was on 4 Menopur each night for 12 nights and felt nothing until the last 2/3 days and now feel properly bloated and uncomfortable. Thankfully Saturdays ones were my last , we triggered last night ready for collection tomorrow morning 😬

Kellyprt1 · 20/01/2020 10:55

None of mine made it had a call this morning I am heartbroken. That was my only NHS funded. Just out of curiosity does anyone know anything I can do to ovulate pm my own supplements or anything.

UnicornPuff · 20/01/2020 11:02

Just come back from my embryo transfer. Of my 5 that fertilised, only one has made it to blastocyst and is poor quality. One has made it to morula but because it is slow they think poor quality. We have had them both put back but I feel massively upset. It's almost cruel that I have to act pregnant for the next 2 weeks.

@FlapJackered that's really good news. I hope you manage to catch up on some of your sleep! I think it is very unlikely that sleep deprivation will make to much of a difference or people would never have more than one child!

jcurve · 20/01/2020 11:05

@Kellyprt1 I am so, so sorry, that is absolutely heartbreaking to hear.

Some people swear by the book “It starts with the egg”, which has suggestions for supplements. As my eggs have turned out to be poor quality (only 1 fertilised normally) I’m going to ask about DHEA supplements for my next round.

UnicornPuff · 20/01/2020 11:15

@Kellyprt1 I am so sorry to hear this. My clinic said at the start that if it was a failed cycle (I think more if they abandoned before collection) that we could self fund that and then keep the NHS one. Would that be an option?

Lily999 · 20/01/2020 11:26

Thank you @Chooklass and @Pinkstars2501, I feel more calm now. I think it was just the thought of being put on a low dosage and not having any side effects at all (I am sure I will hate when they start btw).
Oh, @Kellyprt1 sorry have just seen your message, did they say what could have been the reason? Do I remember corerctly you had 9collected and 4fertilised? As for ovulation induction you can use Clomid that works like magic!

FlapJackered · 20/01/2020 11:27

@Kellyprt1 I am so sorry ❤️ it is such a soul sucking process. I hope you have your DH there to support you. Xx

@UnicornPuff I am so sorry, it is so unfair. You never know though, they wouldn't have put them in if they thought there wasn't a chance. They might thrive once they are in the right environment? It is such a hard, horrible process. Xx
